Elena hid Esteban in the secret chamber and got all the magic spell books with her. She sat next to him on the bed and did everything she could to stay awake and research. The prince slept on the bed still stuck in the dream the witches had trapped him in. She casts spells on him to find out just how many spells he was under.
She lit candles all around the room to channel while casting spells. She was not a witch and using too much magic could drain her or even damaged her soul and she had to be careful. She ran to the dark forest and looked for the herbs that she needed to make portions for him to drink. The princess of Atria spent her time running up and down the kingdom for the ingredients she needed to help Esteban.
The night was long and she had just gotten started. For some ingredients, she ran to Enchansia to get them. She didn't mind entering the land of people who spend all their time trying to find ways to kill her people for him. She even went to Izmia as well for rare ingredients that took her hours to find. Once she had collected all the things she needed she started making the portions. While making the portions some blew up and others didn't come out right and she had to go look for the ingredients again.
She spent the whole night running around, making potions and casting spells. One by one she freed the prince of Izmia from all the spells that he was under and saved him. She broke the last spell and collapsed, she had exhausted herself and her magic. Her ears and nose were bleeding. Esteban woke up and he felt different, he didn't feel the chains that had tied him down. He got up and did a few stretches and realized that he was no longer bound by any spell. He took a step and knocked a glass bottle that broke, he looked to the floor and saw Elena lying unconscious, he ran to her and took her to the bed.
He got some water and a towel and wiped the blood from her nose and her ears. She looked so pale and tired, there were bags under her eyes. He cut his wrist and placed it on her mouth. The blood dripped down from his hand to her mouth, he watched her and squeezed his hand tightly so that more blood would come out. The flood flowed into her mouth and she swallowed with the little energy she had left. When the blood hit her system, some of her strength returned. She was so hungry and tired, she took hold of his hand and pressed it tightly in her mouth, and sucked his blood out.
She drank his blood and stopped when she had enough. It was as though her heart was telling her to stop drinking as not to harm Esteban. She continued to rest to regain her energy. Esteban covered her with her blanket and cleaned the messy room. He found remains of different herbs on the floor. He had traveled to many parts of the world so he knew almost all of those herbs and where they grew. He felt warm in his heart that Elena went to all that trouble just to save him.
"What happened to the witches?" he asked himself looking at Elena. "You are one scary princess aren't you. I would hate to be your enemy but you look so cute and delicate on the outside but looks are deceiving," he said looking out the window.
"Who would have known that the answer to the problem that has troubled me for so long would be a vampire. That too one that hates werewolves. I owe you my life princess and I will repay you for the rest of my life, because of you I can go home again thank you," he said and jumped through the window and left.
Hour and hours went by with Atria on lockdown. Icyn had woken up early in the morning and gone to her grandchild but she was not around. An assassin was caught within the palace walls and now her grandchild was missing. She looked down the entire kingdom and swore to kill every vampire, human, shapshifter, or witch in Atria if her granddaughter is not found. She was so angry that everyone in the kingdom went in search of the princess.
She asked the guards to bring the assassin to the torture chamber. The torture chamber is a big building where she keeps the people she punishes. They are subjected to pure torture for years and years before they can either be freed or killed. People prefer to be killed immediately than to be sent there but she doesn't care what you prefer as she decides what is done to you. She walked ahead as the guards walked behind her pulling the assassin with them. They were frightened to enter the chamber but didn't have a choice, they were just lucky that they were not the ones going to live there.
"Take them to the last room," she said pointing to the room at the end of the corridor. They dragged the assassin along to the room, they could hear screams and moans from the other rooms but kept moving. The place looked and felt like death and it gave anyone who came here the chills.
"My queen, the room seems to be occupied," said one of the guards on his knees.
Icyn handled matters of the torture chamber personally and didn't remember that room being occupied. She called the keeper to explain who was in the room and for what crime. The keeper came and knelt in front of the queen.
"Tell me who is occupying that room and what they are here for?" she instructed.
"They are circle witches, the princess teleported them here and their crime is that they tried to rewrite the princess's destiny. They used their threads to write a life where the princess died together with her parents," he said with his head down.
The temperature of the room decreased even more. Icyn couldn't believe the boldness of some witches, they tried to erase her granddaughter.
"Wait, the princess is missing does this mean they succeeded?" she asked nervously.
"No my queen. The princess came in last night and gave me instructions on how to deal with the witches. I don't think that they are responsible for her disappearance," he said.
"Okay, take him too and do to him whatever you have planned for the witches," she said and signaled the guards to follow her. "Where are you sweetheart. At least tell me where you are so I can stop worrying," she whispered.
The coronation was the next day and there was so much to do but the princess was nowhere to be found. She had to pick a groom and get married on this very day but no one had set their eyes on her. The princess's lady royals were made to kneel at the garden since morning. It was their responsibility to know where the princess was and they were the first to deny knowing her whereabouts. The queen had threatened to behead them if the princess does not return by sunset.
