Plan (2)

Elena was busy thinking about how to convince Atria to let her marry a werewolf. She was missing Esteban so much and wanted him by her side, not just for that moment but forever. They were made for each for what better to attract than two opposites.

Her lady royals were moaning Paloma's death and making arrangements for her burial. Her parents had come to the palace an hour after her death and apologized to the princess for Paloma's behavior. Elena had already thought of a plan to bring Paloma back to life. She had summoned a Warlock from Enchansia to come and bring her back with magic. She wanted a wedding in the kingdom and not a funeral.

Paloma was also her friend so she was not going to let her remain dead forever. She paced in the courtyard trying to perfect the plan in her mind. Everything had to be perfect or the whole plan could fail.

"Your Highness," said a young man in white clothes while bowing his head. "The council men are here and wish to speak with you,"he added before he was dismissed.

Elena wasn't nervous to meet the councilmen, she was ready with a plan and if plan A fail she had plan B and C until the alphabets end. She came prepared for everything that they would throw at her. She went inside the meeting room and sat at the high chair. The chair used to belong to her grandmother and now it was hers.

Elsie sat beside her as she was the royal consort and she was practically co- queen. She came there to support Elena and help her win over the council men. She was aware that the princess was up to no good. She knows Elena more that anyone ever would and she could that she was cooking something in her mind. That and the man she saw sneaking out of her room that morning.

The meeting was called to a start. "Princess it has come to our attention that you have yet to select a groom despite your coronation being only a few hours away," said Diego the head of the council.

"The royal grandmother has also left the kingdom, we thought it best to come here and oversee the everything. Nothing should go wrong," said Santiago. He was Diego's right hand man and the both of them were very greedy for power. They said all this and the other council members nodded their heads in approval.

"It is nice of all of you to volunteer and help in this trying time. I was helpless on what to do and your suggestions has pleased me. You can be in charge of the preparations for my coronation," said Elena feigning politeness.

She was happy that they suggested to help her, it was because she was helpless but it is better to keep your enemies close. Them showing up two hours after her grandmother left was no coincidence. They want to take advantage of her grandmother's absence to their gain. She didn't know what their intentions were but she was not foolish to believe that they came out of the kindness of their hearts. She smiled at them and they upon hearing what she had to say were happy.

Elena smiled in her mind as she had finally finished her plans. The council men didn't know it yet but they were going to be a big help to her getting what she wants. She got up and exited the room feeling excited to put her plan in motion. She returned to her room and lay down.

"Princess, there is a warlock here looking for you," reported Lola.

"Okay, take him to where Paloma's body has been kept and let me know when he is done with his work," she instructed without opening her eyes.

Lola left the room and escorted the warlock to Paloma. Jairo asked them all to exit the room and got to work. He set up the things he needed for ritual in place. And began his work. Lola and the other ladies, Paloma's family and friends were confused as to what was happening and tried not to panic.

They waited for an hour and then it turned to two hours but the man wasn't come out. They just wanted to moan Paloma and give her a befitting burial. Finally the door opened and the man came out holding Paloma in his hands.

"My work here is done," he said and handed Paloma to her father." She is still a bit weak but proper and food should get her back on her feet." he said. The people gathered their we're speechless, bringing someone from the dead was possible but those who practise such dangerous magic were rare and had to find. Paloma's mother thanked the heavens that the princess was nothing like her grandmother and cared about her daughter.

They took Paloma to her room while Lola and Jairo went to see Elena. Elena was having her tea under the moon, the night was young and beautiful. Under the moon there was only one thing that she could think of and that was Esteban. The breeze of the night was so calming and it helped prepare for the storm she was brewing for Atria.

"Princess, he is done," said Lola.

"Nice, I am glad that Paloma is with us once again," she said and dismissed her. "You did well, I am glad that you are as good as advertised," she said to the warlock.

"It was a pleasure to do it for you. I also had fun so it is a win-win situation for both of us."

"I believe that you owe me something?" she asked and he reached into his black bag and removed a red stone and gave it to her.

"The Phoenix stone, it has the power to do the job. Just be careful," he warned and she gave him an evil smile.

"I know how the stone works, don't worry your little head. Now for your payment," she said and he moved forward. "I don't understand why you would give up your earth for immortality," she stated.

"I will still be able to do magic. Maybe not as powerful as before but I will manage. I just want to be immortal."

"Okay but you will be a night walker. The magic you posses will be half of what you have now. You will burn in the sun if you dare go out during the day. You will drink animal and human blood, are you sure?" she asked him.

"I have already made a daylight ring for myself and as for the other things. I will get used to them."

She slit her wrist and let her blood flow into a glass and gave to him. He drank all in one go. "What now?" he asked out of curiosity.

"This," she said and broke his neck. She sat back down in her seat staring at the moon. She held the Phoenix stone close in her hand. She had to take up the responsibility of the kingdom and she couldn't be happier. Living out her parent's legacy. "Let my reign begin," she said her eyes shining bright red.
