Chapter 12
Pei Jin stood by the window to see his daughter below. She looked happy when she watered the flowers so he was relieved.
He was actually reluctant to let his daughter work in such a short time. But he felt it was better for her to keep busy in order to forget certain things. His son told him that Pei Qian was trying to get back up slowly so they as family had to support her unconditionally.
Pei Jin sighed as he felt it was a pity. He liked Li Junfeng and wanted him to become his son-in-law. Pei Qian was his only daughter and he loved her very much. He knew Li Junfeng was a good man and could take care of Pei Qian but now he didn't have any confidence for any other men to treat her the same way Li Junfeng did.
Another quiet sigh left his lips as he decided it would be fine for his daughter to just stay single and never marry. Unless she found a much better man, he wouldn't let her be in a relationship again.
Alas, it was hard for a man like Li Junfeng to come by.

Li Junfeng stood rigid under the clouds as he stared at Pei Qian. The beautiful background of grass and flowers held little to no impact in his eyes. His heart throbbed as if he fell in love all over again.
Pei Qian stood right in front of him but once she was done appreciating nature, she continued to water the flowers. She walked right past him as if he was invisible.
This realization caused Li Junfeng to wake up from his stupor. He clenched his fist and turned around to see her walking away. The small steps she took was like she was about to disappear within his grasp forever.
Li Junfeng was hit by reality once again that he didn't belong with her. He looked down to see how he was abnormally floating on air and was no longer alive. Even the land on his feet was far from his reach.
The throbbing he felt earlier became more prominent but this time it wasn't caused by him falling head over heels, instead it was due to his sorrow of being unable to persuade himself that he was dead.
'No...' he muttered inside his head.
'I must persevere. I can't back down,' he repeatedly told himself as Pei Qian went out of his sight.
Li Junfeng once again convinced himself that he must fulfill his regrets and complete his mission. He chanted a few minutes of encouraging words and then left to find his brother.

Two hours of teleconference made Li Shaoze lose his energy once it ended. He heaved a sigh of relief since he didn't need to listen to some ridiculous proposals and ideas anymore. He clicked on his laptop and immediately looked over the minutes of meeting that Mu Ziyi sent him on the spot.
A few minutes of giving instructions then he was finally done with his work for the time being. Just as he was about to go to the kitchen to make some coffee, Li Shaoze was hit by a certain wandering soul in a bear hug.
"What is it?" Li Shaoze didn't ask where the ghost went to and Li Junfeng didn't mention anything as he showed him his trademark grin.
"I want to show you around. You're finished with your work, right?" Li Junfeng said as he stuck to Li Shaoze like sticky gum.
Li Shaoze wanted to refuse but he decided not to after a few seconds of contemplation. He went to make iced coffee in a glass mug then followed Li Junfeng outside the house.
Li Junfeng sighed with relief when Li Shaoze agreed to follow him around as he knew his brother should want to rest after his meeting just now. However, he didn't know when he would get this opportunity to make Li Shaoze run into Pei Qian again if not today!
In order to matchmake the two, he had to be strong and become a reliable cupid. He shouldn't let the opportunity today slide away from his mission!
"Where are we going?" Li Shaoze felt like Li Junfeng was overly familiar with this area. He wondered if his brother had bought a house near here. And maybe that was the case since he himself was strongly recommended to buy one by Li Junfeng.
"Just follow me. This residential area is very wide and although you just bought the house, you still can walk around anywhere else," Li Junfeng said with confidence. He thought Pei Qian should be done with watering the flowers by now and she should be taking a walk nearby.
There was an artificial lake in between the Pei residence and the unit Li Shaoze bought. So Li Junfeng took his brother there. Li Shaoze kept quiet and since he didn't encounter anyone on the way, he began to appreciate the residential area and the privacy it offered.
"Look, there it is!" Li Junfeng smiled as he pointed to the small lake in front of them. It wasn't far from their house but it wasn't near either. It was a good relaxing spot for nearby house owners who bought the south side of the townhouse.
Li Shaoze looked around and found no one. Although the weather was good but it was still deserted. He guessed the nearby house owners should still be out and weren't home around this time.
It worked in his favor as he sipped on his coffee and walked around. The sun wasn't out even though it was summer and Li Shaoze felt it was a good way to unwind.
Li Junfeng observed his surroundings and could actually spot Pei Qian nearby. She was holding a leaf that was blown away by the wind as she hummed a song. Li Junfeng felt that with Pei Qian's personality, she wouldn't doubt Li Shaoze much but she would still need evidence of his claims about seeing souls.
So Li Junfeng decided to just show her on the spot.
He flew towards Li Shaoze side by side and began to talk randomly. Li Shaoze not seeing anyone around, began to lower his guard and converse with Li Junfeng without a care in the world.
Li Junfeng was chatty and continued to create conversations while Li Shaoze listened and sometimes answered. The way he talked was instant and without any calculation so it looked spontaneous and without thinking.
This was exactly what Pei Qian saw when she looked over. The sight of a tall man's back, talking randomly without having a phone close to his ear.
He was obviously alone, so who was he talking to?
