Chapter 22

In the afternoon, Mu Ziyi came to Li Shaoze's house and found it was dark without the curtain drawn. She knew Li Shaoze was unwell and she immediately walked to the bedroom door.

She knocked a few times but received no answer. Worried about her employer's well-being, she came in anyway. Mu Ziyi gasped when she saw Li Shaoze's bare upper body as he slept on the bed.

He appeared languid and his muscles weren't bulky. Just the right amount at the right place. He looked expressionless even while he slept. Mu Ziyi instantly went over to wake Li Shaoze up as she muttered several apologies to Zhu Zijin in her heart.

"Sir...? Excuse me, sir-" Li Shaoze opened his eyes instantly once he heard someone's voice calling him over.

Li Shaoze had suffered from insomnia all his life so his sleep quality obviously decreased by time. He was sensitive to sleep and he would wake up easily. But to think that Mu Ziyi was already inside his room without him noticing, he must have been too tired.

He slowly sat up on the bed and saw Mu Ziyi's face that showed some concern and was a bit red.

"Done with the meeting?" he asked.

"Y- yes sir. This is the report," Mu Ziyi clumsily gave the black document to Li Shaoze. Even though he was sick, he still didn't forget about his work.

"When will Zijin arrive?" Li Shaoze's eyes trailed over the report's first page.

"The plane will arrive at midnight tonight, sir," she answered, her expression was nothing short of happiness that her boyfriend would finally arrive in the country.

Li Shaoze just nodded and said, "Tell him to come here tomorrow morning at 10. Let him rest from jet lag first,"

"Got it, sir," Mu Ziyi didn't know if Li Shaoze was concern about his assistant or not because his expression stayed cold throughout.

"... And please get my meal ready. The lunch boxes in the dining table," Li Shaoze said slowly, thinking about those lunch boxes that he knew were expensive. He wouldn't want to waste them since it was Pei Qian's sincerity.

Mu Ziyi immediately went to look for the said meals to prepare them. When she found the ornamental and delicate boxes, her mouth watered. She didn't expect it would be the set meals from Rich & Oriental, the famous local restaurant that was so hard to get a reservation from.

"Sir isn't well so how could he have the time to buy this?" she muttered alone.

Meanwhile, Li Junfeng saw Mu Ziyi was gone from the bedroom so he took the chance to come closer to the bedside. He sat down on the bed and stared at his brother's sickly face which had turned slightly better.

"You're going to work tomorrow?" he asked even though he knew the answer.

"Yes," he was banned from working the whole day today, so he didn't want to delay anymore. Li Shaoze felt empty if he wasn't doing anything to busy himself. And the more he move on according to his schedules, the better he felt. Such was the life of a workaholic him.

Soon, the meal was heated and prepared on the dining table. Li Shaoze went there and ate while sometimes looking into his itinerary for tomorrow and instructing Mu Ziyi on some tasks.

Mu Ziyi nodded along with the instructions but still couldn't focus a hundred percent because Li Shaoze only wore his shirt without buttoning it up. He still felt hot so he didn't bother. On the other hand, Li Junfeng sensed the crisis and immediately reminded his brother to take a look at his unruly self.

Li Shaoze who heard Li Junfeng, slowly looked down at his chest and abs muscle and pursed his lips. He slowly put down his utensils and cleared his throat, slowly trying to button up. He just received a nagging from Li Junfeng and didn't mean to cause misunderstanding towards his innocent, newly hired assistant.

"Oh, you're so clueless," Li Junfeng shook his head, exasperated.

Once he was done with giving instructions, he asked Mu Ziyi to go back since there was nothing else to add. Mu Ziyi immediately excused herself in a fluster and as she drove away from the house, she repeatedly chanted a mantra to get rid of her impure mind.

She also apologized sincerely to her boyfriend without him knowing. Indeed, her new boss was actually a man among men. He had a handsome face and a sculpted body. He was tall and also lean. His temperament was also like a god, aloof and cold.

Who wouldn't want to stare at him and cleanse their eyes?? Such a big pie from the sky.

Soon, the time where Zhu Zijin finally arrived at Country C was near. He went to report himself the morning after. Li Shaoze also became healthy again after a good night's rest with proper care from his invisible brother.

Li Shaoze begrudgingly accepted Gu Chen's arrangements for a check-up at the hospital in the afternoon and was accompanied by Zhu Zijin.

After less than an hour of simple physical examination to check his subsided fever, Li Shaoze was ushered to a private room for personal consultation. He had forgotten to mention the occasional pain in his head as he felt it wasn't important.

Walking to the room, he fell into thought. He remembered he would always avoid this consultation when he was at Country E, but he couldn't now since he would have to be under the high supervision from the strict Li Junfeng who was everywhere on his tail.

So, Li Shaoze had to accept the fact that he couldn't run anywhere because this consultation was on the subject of psychotherapy, which he didn't like to touch.

"Come in, Shaoze," after a brief knock, Li Shaoze came in and saw a gentle middle-aged woman sitting at her desk. Beside her was a stack of medical documents and records, piling up like some walls.

She was called Prof. Gu, Gu Chen's aunt who was also the director of Psychology Department and an associate professor in the famous medical school in the city.

This private hospital was the biggest in the country and was owned by the Gu family who hailed from scholars and medical experts from a hundred years ago. That was how famous the Gu family was.

Li Shaoze silently walked to the seat across her and sat down after he gave her a nod as greetings. When he was in Country E, they would do the consultation via online and this was the first face to face session.

"How are you doing?" she asked with a kind smile.

"Doing fine," he said.

"Still not much of a talker, I see," she said as she watched his unchanging expressionless face.

"So shall we start our session?"

Li Shaoze just nodded as he exhaled a breath. He hoped this could end faster.
