Moving

One more day had passed after Casper finally sealed his deal with Alfar. The tension between the factions continued until the end of the day. Thankfully, no other clashes have happened since then. At least, nothing that Casper knew. As Anton explained to Casper, there were 8 more Blocks in that prison, each one with a bunch of prisoners. Because of it, there were 4 different courtyards for them, and they mixed people from each block. If some fight happened in the other 3 courtyards, he didn't know.

Casper wondered why they don't designated a courtyard for each block, since it would be way easier than this current mess, but he concluded that the intention was to mix different people from different factions. Since the start, the system of Halden was to make the prisoners be in constant clash with each other to show the results of their experiments.

"Why a prison with inmates controlled by these masks would need cameras?" Casper wondered once. Now, he was sure that those cameras just served as a way to monitor the prisoners and see closely how they were reacting, how stronger and dangerous they became, and all the other effects of the experiments.

The Halden prison all this while served just for this. No wonder that it was built below a laboratory. And with that in mind, Casper also came to know why they wanted to keep him inside there so badly.

"They see me as a weapon of great value. That nurse called Amelia said it. There is something with those GBI that makes me as destructive as any other weapon they have…" It was already dawn, and Casper couldn't sleep at all, so he was rambling about all those things.

"I wonder what is it… Maybe it's just some of the various things that Vick is hiding from me. Either way, I must focus in get out of here first."

When Casper went to the Dark zone in the night he started with his plan to invade the security room, he was awake during all the procedure. It was painful, nearly unbearable, but he needed to endure it until the end.

Now, he knew what they did with him every Dark zone as well. He wasn't able to conclude clearly what it was, but those scientists were doing some kind of extraction process in his brain. Extraction of information, memories, and everything else. Probably, they needed all that data to be able to make a mask for him, and due to the complexity of the brain, it was a delicate procedure that needed a lot of time to be made.

As Casper was an adult with his brain already grown up, not a children in his early minutes of life, it was difficult for them.

"Since the procedure will last so long, I don't need to worry for now." He always needed to calm himself down in that matter. Have a deadline to make all the plans work was indeed a plus for motivation, however, the pressure was just as much as this.

Casper had something in mind to keep his plan working as smoothly as possible. For this, Alfar was really needed. Nonetheless, it was dangerous as well. Now, he had another problem: He was in a place filled with people with unknown power. He didn't know how far those experiments changed those prisoners.

"Depending on how things go, people can die here, but with this war of factions, I can't think of anything better."

The gate of his cell opened suddenly, and then Anton entered there. For some reason, the middle-aged man didn't go directly to the cell after the morning outdoor activities. He went somewhere else without saying anything.

Casper never bothered about what he did or did not. Since the start, they maintained a relationship strictly "professional". Casper saw him as a tool, and he saw Casper the same way. Both were aware of it, and they were just fine that way.

"Hey, old man."

"Anton said to you before that 56 isn't old yet." Casper giggled, sitting on his bed picking up some papers.

"I have something else to show to you about the maps. I think there are some inconsistencies here and there that are some crucial points for the plan."

"Hmm…" Anton was about to say something, but he looked outside, in the corridor, and warned Casper with a signal.

The soldier promptly hid the papers and tried to act as normal as he could. Soon after he could finish his preparations, a Ridire appeared in front of the gate.

Anton just turned his back to him and went to sit on his bed, carefreely.

The warrior looked back and forth to Anton and Casper, then fixed his eyes at the White warrior.

"Hey, you, prepare yourself to move." He ordered, abruptly.

Casper nearly stuttered for a while, looking dumbfounded at that man.

"What…?"

"Are you deaf or just dumb? What I mean is that you will move from this cell, prepare yourself, quickly." Without waiting for a response from Casper, the Ridire walked off.

Casper stayed paralyzed for a while before turning to Anton. The man seemed to be very calm, pretending to sleep as always.

The soldier started to think. Maybe they could have been too reckless while conversing with each other. The guards must have suspected something. He was not sure, but the absence of Anton that day was quite strange, probably he was interrogated and couldn't say anything because of the mask…

"This way, if we got split, things will not go very well. I will have to be lucky and be transferred to a cell where my cellmate can cooperate with me. Depending on what person actually stays there, the plan can be delayed for a long while… I have an idea of how much time I have, and it's not that much… I can't afford something like this to happen."

Casper tried to formulate a solution for that matter the best way he could, although nothing came to mind no matter how much time he spent thinking. Anton was not being of any help as well, but it wasn't like he could do something.

"Ah, bingo! I am depending too much on Anton. I have plenty more people under my influence now that my connections increased. If I want to solve this, I need to resort to one of them…"

Casper had something in mind. It would be a bold move, but if everything went well he would have a cellmate even better than Anton. For this, he would need to hold his transfer for another cell as long as possible, until he could have his lunchtime, at least.

"Hey, Anton. I have something in mind, so don't worry, things will go just well." He said, but the old man didn't respond to him.

...

After lunchtime, the warrior appeared again to drag Casper to his cell. He stood before the gate and peek inside. The soldier was doing his daily workout.

"Let's go, Casper, it's about time." He spoke, after an order from the communicator to open the cell.

The White warrior stood from his bed, without saying goodbye or something else to his ex-cellmate and just walking outside the gate.

Both walked off, the guard next to him, Casper was already handcuffed. None of them said a single word.

"C'mon, man… I know it was a difficult request, but I am counting on you now…" He prayed.

Casper tried to seem as calm as he could, but it was hard to do when he didn't know exactly if his plan went well or not.

Just when they were about to reach one of the Blocks, another Ridire stopped them.

"Hey, they said to you about the change in the transference?" The Ridire A spoke abruptly.

"What are you talking about?" Ridire B looked at him confused, holding Casper's arm to prevent him to keep walking.

"That's Casper, right? The superiors said to transfer him to cell A-14 as I remember. Apparently, something happened and he will need to move to D-25."

"But… D-25 isn't missing an inmate now…"

"Correction: wasn't missing before. In the morning outdoor activity, one of them died in the middle of a battle."

The Ridire A, letting go of Casper's arm sighed. He shrugged after thank his comrade and this time walked with him to another part of the complex.

Internally, Casper commemorated and thanked Olaf with all his might.

"Olaf really is the gold mine of this prison. He could do this, after all!" He gladly thought.

They arrived at the D block. It was a corridor just like the previous one that Casper was.

As long as he walked through there, whispers could be heard, and all the inmates started to go closer to the gates of their cells to take a look at him.

The Ridire seemed to be in a rush and started to push Casper until they arrived at cell D-25.

"Yeah… Olaf attended to all the details of the request… I think that this problem is solved now."

He entered the cell, and the warrior shouted to Casper's new cellmate:

"Hey, scumbag. You have a new friend to make you company. Please don't cause me trouble, otherwise, I will rip off your heads." After this, he closed the cell's gate and walked away.

Casper sat on his bed and looked to Alfar, who was staring at him with surprised eyes.

"What's up, Alfar?"
