Era Headquarters, Top floor
On the top floor of Era's Headquarters was a woman sitting on a leather chair with a desk behind her. She was admiring the view in front of her with a smile on her face whilst drinking a cup of coffee.
In front of her was an array of stars and clouds merging together seamlessly. Floating in the sky was cities making it feeI like they were in another World completely. A realm of sky nomads.
She has hazel brown hair and light green eyes shining with intelligence. She has fair skin and freckles on and around the bridge of her nose.
Her name is Andrea Scott, she is the mysterious leader of Era.
Era, as the big company it is, has plenty of representatives. None of the major figures of the company has been seen by the press or world leaders. All they know is to not ever try sneak into the company to find out.
No one knows how but Era has always unearthed moles not even a day before they joined the company and fired them.
They even got representatives to formally ask for governments to stop.
Or else.
Some companies didn't listen and disappeared of the face of the earth.
Era was really ruthless!
The world leaders of some countries tried to destroy Era's business with their political power but couldn't as they didn't have the capability.
Ever since then the world has treated them with respect.
Andrea was currently pondering about how the test was going and was about to calmly turn around to check the live footage but her serenity was soon shattered by the appearance of a hologram that was a boy. The boy had blue hair and a cute face. He was the form of Cloud.
"Miss Andrea, something unaccepted has happened, "Cloud hurriedly said not waiting for Andrea to reply, "two people have started climbing the Staircase of Talent!!! "
Andrea woke up from her stupor instantly, even the coffee couldn't do a better job!
Dan and Shaun didn't know but only people that have extraordinary minds can climb The Staircase.
Currently, because of secret genetic enhancement only a few in Era's top brass can enter that staircase.
After genetic enhancement, one would manifest some physical traits from their ancestors and a get a stronger body and mind.
To start walking up that staircase you need to have an extraordinary mind as even climbing one step is taxing.
This is why the Staircase of Talent was above the Staircase of Attainment.
Compared to the Staircase of Talent, the Staircase of Attainment was a sapling next to a World Tree.
The Staircase of Talent was something that was supposed to be a second test for everyone in the game but it acted with a mind of its own.
They tried controlling it but it would not work. They didn't even know what the limits of its grading system is!
If someone that didn't have a great mind tried climbing it they would accumulate brain damage at an alarming rate!
But when someone with a great mind and will managed to start ascending from the first step something extraordinary would happen.
Once they stopped climbing would be given the chance to unlock a talent that their genetic ancestors had.
This talent would be in your character automatically once you start the game
But something happened as well. The talent manifested in your real body as well as in game body!!!
It was currently a well known fact around the world that they all evolved from apes but Era has found out, but has not told the world, that the apes evolved to humans due to different mysterious existences that passed on their blood through intelligent animals.
They do not know who the existences were but Era has definitely profited from them.
As Andrea has admin privileges at the time she decided to try it. She had never tried testing her synchronisation rate before so she had to start from where everyone else started, though by herself.
She climbed the Stairs of Attainment with minor difficulty, then afterward started climbing the Staircase of Talent. She managed to climb 8 steps before she couldn't move any further. This was the most any Era top brass had got on the Staircase of Talent.
She tried to move further up the stairs but she felt the gaze of someone with extraordinary power. This gaze held unfathomable power and could crush her instantly and the fear palpitating in her heart from just a look from this existence was just a warning.
With the fear fresh in her mind she stopped regretfully but before she got sent to the spectator room she got a system message in and holy cream, not blue, to choose a talent.

Eyes of Intention - Red - When looking at people you know what their aim is at the current time. Does not work on people that have emotion concealing talents of red grade or higher.]
After climbing 8 steps she only got the choice of four talents.
Though 8 steps did not look like a lot, on the Staircase of Talent, it was an astronomical number.
She weighed her choices and thought about the company, her blood sweat and tears, and decided on the 4th one. She could have more efficiency of uprooting traitors than the lie detector.
This happened 3 years ago and she has had to say farewell forever to some of her corrupted companions.
Now that members of the public will have these powers she was worried.
"Cloud, calm down. Invade their personal information and do a background check. If they are bad, you know what to do … " Andrea stated coldly after suppressing her shock.
She needed to be in control at all times.

Shaun was currently jogging up the Staircase of Talent after that power boost. He decided not to go full speed because he might lose control of his emotions once again but instead was decided to keep at a steady pace
Even though he looks very relaxed you could see veins popping out the side of his head. He was still struggling, though not visibly.
He was jogging, but his mind was elsewhere. He was wondering how Dan was doing.
Shaun really cared about Dan and only wants him to have the best, he was perfectly happy with being Dan's co-faction leader but he would like to at least give Dan a run for his money when it came to being No.1 or No.2.

Whilst Shaun was thinking about his bro the pitch black egg in his heart cracked some more and an invisible line burst from it, it travelled out side of Shaun's body at a speed that could be seen to the naked eye. Once a meter away from him, reality, bending to its will, opened a gate to its destination, Dan.

Dan was currently thinking about what he was going to eat for breakfast while running up the staircase, slowing down every 2 steps. His muscles were bulged to the max but he looked like he couldn't see it. He was thinking about buying a full English breakfast or pancakes and bacon with maple syrup at a breakfast restaurant once he was finished with the testing.
'Meh, I'll just have both. Wait I forgot, I am broke!'

The pitch black egg in Dan's body cracked some more and an invisible line was about to leave the body as well but as soon as it was a millimetre away from the egg, Shaun's line met up with it and connected with it. A burst of life illuminated both eggs at the same time but died down almost instantly.

'I wonder if Shaun would buy me breakfast? I'll ask him later.' Dan thought openly.
'Ask me what?' Shaun replied.
Wait.
Shaun replied to a thought.
What the hell is going on!!!
'Shaun, bro, is that really you?' Dan thought with astonishment.
'YEAH, HOW CAN I HEAR YOU?' Shaun thought loudly.
'Dude stop shouting I can hear you' Dan replied very quietly.
'Speak up! Anyway, this is definitely too mysterious for us to find out by ourselves. Let's focus on the task at hand. What stair number are you on? Shaun brushed the subject away quickly.
Dan looked upward to his to right vision. This where the stair numbers are counted. it read:
67
'I am currently on step 67 of the second staircase. What about you?'
'I am on stair 45 of the second staircase. I am going to rush up to your stair number now.'
Shaun's muscles bulged to an unnatural size and he set off like a rocket, but he was in a lot of pain because of the feeling of suddenly increasing the pressure weighing down on him.
He soon arrived on stair 67.
'Dan, what stair are you on now?'
Dan replied, ' 68.'
Shaun, after getting that information, tried pushing to 68 but it was like an impenetrable wall was placed in front of him, not allowing him to move forward. Shaun thought that he met his limit and was about to resign to his fate when the wall suddenly disappeared.
'Dan, what stair are you on now?'
'Oh, 69. Why?'
Shaun remained silent.
In Shaun's head a flood of understanding rushed over him in an instant. His heart palpated in fear, buckets of sweat appeared on his virtual character. In his eyes you could see a hazy fog of fear obstructing the usual easy going gleam that shone in his eyes.
He realised.
The Vow that he made.
The Vow On The Heavens.
It became reality.

In an illusionary realm of light.
Out of a crack in reality, purple streak of lightning burst out with intense speed, leagues faster than what it had shown in the mortal realm.
The illusionary realm of light where there was white fog and blinding holy light was Supreme Heaven Headquarters.
It was the personal realm of Lord of Heaven.
In the centre of the realm 4 majestic modern style apartment buildings stood high and proud, made out a white sturdy metal, white glass and a massive white wooden door.
They were set up in a triangle formation with the biggest out of all of them in the middle.
The purple streak of lightning came to the centre apartment building's door. The door had a plaque that read:
Heavens Residence
The purple streak of lighting was obviously Tribulation.
Tribulation, as a serpent, had to go through the cat flap at the corner of the massive door like an animal!
How humiliating!
She could turn into her human form but she found it very uncomfortable so she had to deal with humiliation and grit her teeth.
In actuality the cat flap teleported her to where the Lord of Heaven lives, which is the top floor.
What. You actually thought that this whole building was for one person.
Heaven can't run by itself. And those people that work for heaven have to live somewhere.
That is where these buildings come in.
Each floor was owned by one person and they could customise their floor however they like, but...
They had to furnish it with their own money or furniture. Nothing comes for free after all.
But each apartment had one feature.
The windows could show any scene in the universe as long as you provided it with the coordinates for the place. That was a feature that nobody couldn't love.
Watch a field of lush green grass. Watch waves lap over each other in the ocean.
Once Tribulation was on the top floor it easily spotted the Lord of Heaven with its beady eyes.
He was wearing a white top and and white tracksuit bottoms with white bunny slippers. He had a body that looked like it was blessed by the gods, sword shaped eyebrows, diamond shaped chin, white short hair and black pupils. Jade white skin, subtle muscles that caressed the shirt that he was wearing and was 5 ft 10.
The perfect man.
Tribulation zoomed to his end of the apartment.
On his end of the apartment was an assortment of books, a single bed a desk, a pile of paper work, a wooden floor. All of the things were white...
The widow view was of a celestial mountain towering over the world. The mountain was white too...
He was on his desk right now sorting out the mountain of paper work when he sensed the presence of a speeding serpent!
He burst out with full power to catch Tribulation!
Once they collided, Tribulation's momentum cause Lord of heaven to get pushed back right to the window.
This happened in an instant.
Lord of Heaven just managed to stop the window shattering which he was very happy about.
"Tribby, why are you so angry!? I thought you'd be happy about going walkies." Lord of Heaven said in a teasing tone.
"Uhhhhhh, Please stop treating me like a pet, I'll kill you! And whilst you're at it, get rid of that cat flap. I'm as powerful as you so I at least want a door my size, or my smallest size. I am not so inconsiderate to make you make a door my biggest size." Tribulation, no sorry, Tribby said with a frustrated voice.
Tribby decided she would not be able to have this conversation while in her snake form as he would continue to talk to her like a pet, so she transformed.
Her whole snake form was shrouded in black mist, you could hear the cracking of bones coming from within the black mist.
Soon the black mist dispersed and what was left of the purple snake was replaced by something beautiful...
