Bailey let out a soft groan of pain, her skull felt as if it had been chopped down the middle with an axe. Blood had pooled on the floor by her mouth but she was alive, the ground was dusty and cold under her hands. She sat back, her mind confused as she squinted against the darkness around her. She spotted Baal's frame not far from her, he laid in an awkward position on the floor. It all came rushing back to her as she crawled over to the other.
She shook him a few times, "Baal! Get up!" She hissed, keeping her voice low. She didn't know if anyone was in this small room, eyes moving to the top where a small bit of light shimmered through the trap door, a few more wooden trap doors could be seen as well as though the ground of the church was made of them.
She shook him again, feeling a new panic in her. Was he dead? Could a demon die? She hadn't considered it.
"Baal!" She shouted, her voice echoed around them.
Baal grunted, she relaxed as the demon shuffled a bit before sitting up. Looking at her groggily,
"What...happened?" He whispered, glancing down at her than to the ceiling.
"That shit heads using some kind of glowing potion to use the Adinkra," she snorted.
"That ain't no potion," Baal grumbled, rubbing his head as he got to his feet. Eyeing the trap doors, "that was a soul."
Bailey felt as if she'd been punched in the gut with the others words.
"A...soul? You can just trap them?"
Baal grunted, "depends," he whispered. "An angel can, well, under certain circumstances,"
Bailey sighed, pulling her phone out and groaning at the lack of signal before flipping on the flashlight.
"We've been out a few hours," she murmured, wondering if Sam had called them. She moved the vivid light over the area around her, mops, buckets, a few scattered empty trash bags, that is until her phone came to a pair of small, pale feet. She froze, standing in front of them was the straw haired boy. His black eyes flashing as he looked between them.
"It's you," Bailey whispered, the boy didn't say anything. He turned on his heels and walked through a closed, wooden door. Bailey hesitated before following the small child, she grabbed the old handle of the door and yanked it open. It was a long, large tunnel made of stone. She could hear water rushing from somewhere but she wasn't sure where as they followed the small child.
The pair made sure to stay close to one another until their boots sloshed as the tunnel dipped downwards before opening up to a large, underground room with a waterfall in the middle. Bailey stared around them in awe, natural light flowed down from the top she could see it was turning a soft orange as the sun started it's descent. She could spy a few more trap doors, silently wondering why there were so many and how she hadn't seen a single one.
The room held a large stone, the waterfall falling from the top of it. She cranked her neck to look up past it but it was bathed in such darkness she couldn't make out any details. Words we're etched all over the stone, she recognized it as the same lettering on the back of the painting.
Below the etchings was a large altar with a body laying on it. Bailey gasped as she spotted the corpse, the smell of rotting flesh rolled through the air. The straw haired boy walked to the altar, pointing to the body before he vanished. The two raced through the shallow water that surrounded the stone and hopped up a few steps towards the moss covered altar.
The child had been killed very recently, blood still falling from his chest and rolling into the stone below him.
"Poor baby," Bailey whispered, she glanced over his cartoon shirt and down to his pants but it wasn't the straw haired child nor the little boy Abigail was desperate to find.
"Do you think that this boy's soul...do you think he's using it to control the Adinkra?" Bailey murmured, glancing at Baal who looked mortified, she saw an anger flair up in him. His skin boiled as he turned to look around for an exit.
"I'm going to gut that man!" He roared, she grinned at him.
"We're going to gut him!"
He shot her a lopsided grin, eyes brimmed with determination.
"We gotta find a way outta here," he murmured.
"What is this anyways?" She asked, eyes tracing the carvings on the stone. She raced her fingers lightly over the words with a tilt of her head. The stone felt warm to the touch which confused her.
"I don't know exactly," Baal murmured, "I know that Abel and Cham stumbled onto one of these too. They're some sort of…"
"Ritual,"
The voice caused the two to whip around in shock, a man sat up against the wall. Chains bound to his legs and wrists, he was skinny with incredibly pale tan skin, his eyes sunken in, he shook violently as if cold. His clothes hardly clung to the man's frame.
"Who are you?" Bailey asked, Baal didn't waste time asking. He made for the man and knelled down to the chains.
"You can't burn em off, demon," he murmured, "they're made to withhold a lot,"
"Who are you?" Bailey asked again, making her way over to them and leaning down to look into the man's skeleton features.
"My name's Hani, angel of kingdoms," he groaned, shaking his head.
"Why are you here?" Bailey placed her hands on his face, inspecting it with narrowed eyes.
He allowed her to touch him, leaning into the touch lightly.
"I was taken," he whispered, "by a corrupted angel,"
Baal and Bailey froze, "corrupted angel? Who?" Baal whispered.
Hani shook his head, "I'm not sure, I didn't get a chance to see him. I've been here the past few months,"
"Explains why you didn't starve," Baal murmured. Tugging at the chains a few times with a frown as he looked at the giant padlock.
"What is this place?" Bailey asked, "and why did they take you?"
"Do you have any water?" Hani whispered, Bailey reached into her pocket and pulled out a flask. She opened it up and held it out to the other who drank it quickly.
"Just a little holy water but it's better than nothing," she mused.
He nodded as the angel swallowed a few small gulps of the water.
"This place is one of Faith's altars," he murmured, "back when I was first created if we wanted to take a human vessel they would come down here." He tilted his head towards the words on the walls that surrounded them.
"The human would come here, an angel would use the grace in these stones to take the human soul and put it in Heaven, it was seen as more humane since the vessels body undergoes a lot of pain and stress when an angel takes it," Bailey eyed the large rock for a few seconds before glancing down at him.
"The soul would be a VIP of sorts, highly recommend for being an angel when or if it was needed,"
"So these rocks have...a lot of angel's power?" Bailey asked
He nodded, "yes, but after the Adinkra were retired and Faith went missing....well angels stopped coming here, with Michael's reign it was practically forgotten,"
He said with a cough, "so they've gone unused for hundreds of years. But the water still flows meaning the grace is still inside,"
"And why are you here? Chained to it?" Baal asked as Bailey stood up and started to pace.
Starting to take a few pictures of the walls with her eyes narrowed as if she was attempting to read the unknown language.
"My Grace," he whispered, "Bill is using it to take souls out of the pure," his voice cracked as he spoke, tears started to form in his eyes.
"He's bottling their souls, using a special glass."
"How does he use it?" Baal questioned,
"The Adinkra is connected to the heart, not the soul, so you can use someone else's pure soul to power the Adinkra. Almost like taking a battery out of a remote and placing it in a separate one. The only issue is it leaves the other remote with only one battery."
"But how does he do it?" Bailey asked, the man shuttered.
"I'm...not sure," he whispered, light rained down upon them as Bailey placed a hand on the rock again. Her eyes flashed with gold, the rock responded to her touch as if it lived. The waterfall paused it's flowing as white flashed over the letters, turning them golden. She jumped back in shock, looking over at Baal.
The angel's eyes grew wide, "you…" he murmured, "get out of here!" He urged. "You get out, you run! You both run, you get to safety, yo--"
The sound of feet hitting the ground echoed around them, Baal and Bailey shot each other a look.
"What is that?"
"Service...is about to start," Hani murmured, tears rolling down his cheeks again.
"Those people, they could be in trouble," Baal murmured, the angel shook his head and tugged at the chains.
"Something's wrong," he said more to himself than anyone else.
"My Grace is almost gone and now you two are here," he murmured, "he must be doing the Ultimate sacrifice,"
Bailey's eyes grew wide, "is he...going to sacrifice all those people?" She whispered. Hani nodded slowly, "I only have a little grace left till I am no more, without my Adinkra I am powerless. You must leave! You can't be sacrificed!"
"Listen," Bailey snapped her fingers, "you're coming with us! Cain can help you! I don't care, we can help,"
"No, you must go before the sun falls!"
Bailey pulled her gun out, the angel looked at her with wide eyes before she shot. The bullet slammed with full force into the lock, she shot a few more times until the metal lock practically exploded. Baal helped the other get to shaken feet.
"You'll have to wear those chains for a bit longer but we can get you to safety, you know, as soon as we save the innocent,"
"No! You must--" he coughed until crimson splattered on the ground below.
"What'll happen if he sacrifices these people?" Bailey inquired. The man looked deep into her gaze, his body trembled.
"With the help of a corrupted angel, a certain number of souls can make an Adinkra, a true one, one just for him, but it can only happen on the night of an eclipse."
"Then there's no time to waste," Baal murmured, hoisting the skinny angel up into his arms.
"No! Please! Get out, if you're sacrificed it could be the end,"
"We're not that special," Bailey laughed, eyes darting around her.
"How do we get out of here,"
"I got this," Baal sucked in air, the rock behind him glowed softly as his back rippled and his large, black wings extended outwards. He groaned inwardly at the pain from them tearing open the skin but it wasn't too bad, he felt angels grace roll under his skin. A feeling he next experienced as a demon before.
"Let's kick some ass!" Bailey snarled, the angel let out a yowl of protest as Baal's wings extended. He pushed his horns from his head, Bailey hoisted herself onto his back, She held onto his horns tight as the man shot upwards towards an opening that filtered light was moving through.
"Bailey, I need to use my horns!" He grunted, she nodded and pushed her head down between his wings. She buried her face into his neck as the man's horns connected hard with old, moldy wood. They exploded from the trap door that had been hidden from view in the center of the corn field.
Hani sucked in the fresh air with a gasp, the wind kicked over his face and brought a new energy to his system as Baal climbed up over the corn before gliding towards the church. Flapping his wings a few times to keep in the air, Bailey could see through the stained glass. The church was filled with every innocent person of the town, all with their heads bowed.
She could hear the pastor shouting something at everyone
"It's sad," Hani gasped out, "how people use the love of their God as a means to corrupt and manipulate,"
Baal nodded at this, "what'd we do, Bails?" Baal asked as she gripped his horns tight.
"He was sapping your grace, right? He can't do that anymore," Bailey mused, "so it won't work, right?"
"It won't matter, he has my Adinkra. He can take my Grace directly from it," he whispered, "I was only chained in there so I could watch him suck the souls out of those children."
Bailey growled, she gripped the horns till her knuckles turned white.
"Through the window," she spat, "the doors are probably locked, let's bust down that fucking window," she pointed towards the stained glass, the picture of the pastor had been placed inside the glass with a large halo over his head and s bible under his arm.
"Right through his ugly head," she growled to Baal.
Smoke billowed from Baal's nostrils as he bowed his head before shooting forward. Holding the angel tight to his chest to protect him, the glass of church windows exploded easily. The people screamed at the sudden view of the demon as he stood in the pale light of the full moon, the eclipse had started now, slowly moving.
"You see!" The pastor shouted,
"They're coming! The demons! If you don't drink now it will all be over,"
Bailey's eyes grew wide as she noticed the solo cups they held, even a few children seemed to be gripping the cups tight as they shook with fear.
"Drink drink!" The man shouted at his followers, Baal landed on the ground with a loud bang. Bailey hopped off him, swatting the cups away from the nearest innocent who gasped.
"Don't drink it, we're good guys!" Bailey shouted, "we've found who took your kids, it was your precious pastor," She spat the words out as if they were poison in her mouth.
A few gasped at this, the pastor shot daggers at Bailey. A white light started to surround the man as the grace from the altar below started to grow in power, Hani gagged and groaned as his Adinkra shone around Bill's neck. Zapping bits of the soul from around the vial around his neck, the color drained the more the Adinkra grew. Sapping what was left of the child's spirit.
The crowd whispered in fear as they looked around at one another.
"Why should you believe this…this...temptress!" He shouted at the people.
"I've healed you, I've saved you! What has she done but brought a demon!" The people all eyed Baal who glared daggers at the pastor.
Bailey snarled, she stormed up to the man and pointed a finger in his face.
"You piece of shit!" She snapped, he grabbed her without a second thought. She yelped in shock as the man ripped the picture she had of the little boy from her back pocket. Holding it up for all to see, everyone gasped.
"You see! She is trying to play you a fool!" He yelled out, "she has a picture of one of your children!"
She ripped her arm away, looking around in shock as everyone started to glare at her, at Baal.
"'Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world!' first John's!" The pastor shouted, "false prophet!"
The crowd started to roar with anger at Bailey, the white light trickled in through the wood of the floor and turned to blackness.
"False prophet!" People shouted at her, she took a few steps away from him, turning to look at Baal and Hani.
"Wait," a voice shouted
Abigail stood up, her hands shaking as she looked towards Bailey with wide eyes.
"Is it true? Did you find my Barry?"
Bailey felt guilty burn into her guts as she shot the man a glare,
"So it was you who brought this demon into our town," the pastor spat, glaring at the woman.
"I just wanted my son," she whispered looking down at her cup of juice.
"You are no longer welcome here," the man snarled, practically growling as his eyes flicked from blue to black. She gasped, taking a few steps back.
"Please! I don't want to go to hell, please I'm sorry!" She cried out.
"You don't get to decide who goes to hell," Baal hissed, placing Hani carefully on the floor beside the pews. The man grabbed at the wooden benches, attempting to keep himself semi on his feet.
"And you do, devil?" The man asked, Baal snarled shooting forward without a second thought. The man grabbed the grace that was rolling under his feet and hoisted it up, it slammed into Baal like concrete sending the demon flying backwards and smacking into the wall on the other side of the church.
"You see my power?" He hissed as Bailey pulled her gun out, holding it up towards him. The innocent gasped and screamed as they got from their seats and collected into the back. A few attempted the door but it seemed to be locked.
"Shut up, you piece of shit!" Bailey yelled out
"Drink my loves, soon this will be all over," he licked his lips as he gave her a toothy smile. The innocent looked to one another, a few still sat in the pews having drank the potion in their hands they remained like stone.
"Stop!" Bailey wailed at them, she shot at the pastor. The bullet flew towards the man but he simply swatted it away as the eclipse continued to dash the moon's light out of the church.
"You silly girl," he laughed, holding out his hands as he rose upwards. Floating with a grin so wide it took up the whole of his face.
"Your bullets can't harm me," he laughed out, she shook violently but held her hands in position. Refusing to back down, knowing he'd keep killing the innocent if she didn't stop him.
"False prophet!" The man shouted.
The innocent shouted it back at Bailey who shut her eyes against the voices, feeling tears burn her cheeks. She couldn't stop some of those who already drank, she could already hear the gagging and choking the poison was having on the few who didn't hesitate.
"Soon, we will be in heaven, and you, in hell!" The man laughed.
The sound of the church doors flying open caught everyone's attention, Bailey shot her head around as black eyed children entered the room. A murmur of confusion and fear flashed over everyone as the straw haired boy led them into the church. They filled the room, going to their parents who gasped in shock and horror.
"Barry? Where is he?" Abigail murmured, sniffling softly as she looked around at all the children.
"These are the ghosts of the children you killed!" Bailey yelled out, the man narrowed his eyes as the boy with the straw hair marched up beside Bailey. The man slowly went down to the floor, glaring at the children that covered every inch of the room.
"Are you going to believe this...this...harlot over me!" He demanded, his hair a mess as his anger grew.
Bailey turned to look at the innocent who had all started to drop their cups in horror, moving backwards and away from the powerful man. The pastor growled, his eyes wide with rage.
"You'll all pay for this! Especially you," he pointed at Bailey who held her head up high. Baal got to his feet, growling as his wings flexed. The straw haired boy tugged on Bailey's jacket sleeve, she leaned down without question. He cupped his hand over her ear, her eyes grew wide as she listened to the ghostly voice of the child.
She clenched her fists in anger, holding the gun up with fire burning in her gaze.
"You sacrificed your own son," she spat, the collective gasp from the crowd made the man glare around them before eyeing the blonde boy who vanished in the air as if he were made of nothing.
"I needed to make sure it worked!" He hissed
The other children followed suit, the members of the church threw down their remaining cups. They started to boo the man, rage Clear in their voices. Bailey grinned at him now, Baal stood beside her, his hands turning red with heat.
"I'm going to kill every one of you!" He shouted, the darkness exploded around them. Everyone screamed in fear as hands grabbed at them, dragging the innocent as trap doors swung open all around them.
"Baal!" Bailey shouted,
"I'm on it," he dove towards the darkness, tugging his bass knuckles on the demon king and started to get to work. Ripping the innocent away from the greedy hands of the dark energy.
"That just leaves us!" He spat, the Adinkra around his neck glowed vivid before he made his hands into the shape of a gun, a blast of light flew from the tips of his fingers. She rolled away without much trouble, leaping onto the pews in an attempt to avoid the hands of darkness, shooting at him as she went. He laughed as the bullets got knocked back with the growing dark energy, Baal yowled in pain as he was smashed under the weight of the darkness.
He started getting dragged with the innocent, punching and fighting against the darkness.
"You're just a little human," the man laughed, "only guns! No powers, no nothing, just a sad, childless widow"
"Fuck you!" She spat,
Hands extended from under her, she stomped on them with her steel toed boots but it was no use as they wrapped around her legs. She screamed in rage and anger, shooting a few more times but to no avail.
"You're wrong," Hani hissed
The man glanced at Hani with a smirk, "I'm not afraid of you! You're so close to death it doesn't even matter,"
Bailey shot at the darkness below her, giving her room to leap onto another pew in an attempt to keep away from the grace covered floor.
"You don't need to be afraid of me," he nodded to Bailey who reloaded her gun and held it up, taking in air as she attempted to keep herself calm and focused among the chaos.
"You just need to worry about one of the five king's!"
Just as Hani shouted this Bailey shot, Hanis eyes turned white as he transferred what little grace he had into the woman. The bullet glowed in heaven's light as it whizzed towards the preacher.
He pulled darkness over him like a shield but it broke through with ease, landing on the man's shoulder just nearly missing his neck. Bailey felt a power she never felt before as Hani staggered over to her. His hand out, it was white as the moon, glowing so vivid his veins could be seen. His hand shook but he remained on his two feet. Gritting his teeth against the pain that was rolling through his system.
For the first time she saw fear on the preacher's face as she lifted into the air, she held up her gun and shot again. He turned to avoid it, hissing in pain as it grazed his arm. He flew towards her, she didn't have time to react as he smashed into her head on. She flipped a few times on the air, righting herself.
"Bailey!" Baal shouted at her, he was using his wings to keep himself and the innocent from falling in the holes as the hands continued to try and drag him under.
As if on instinct the woman landed hard on the ground, white grace exploded and expanded over the world under her. It shattered the blackness causing the priest to roar in rage,
"You bitch!" He shouted
"That's my name don't wear it out," she yelled back, holding up her gun and shooting again. He raced towards her only for the bullet to land in the neck. He gagged painfully before falling to the floor, white light covered the man's skin around the wound as he struggled on the ground.
Hani groaned, dropping to his knees as the man's grace vanished from Bailey. She walked towards the preacher with narrowed eyes, he glared at her despite choking on his own blood. Baal got to his feet, helping a few of the innocent up as the eclipse finished. The moonlight shone over the woman, Baal looked in shock at the halo that flashed over her head.
"H-have mercy," he choked out, Abigail made her way to Bailey glaring down at him.
"You killed my son's," she hissed out, more or the innocent followed her, surrounding the dying man.
"And I'd do it again!" He spat blood from his mouth, Bailey leaned down and slipped the Adinkra from around his neck. It hummed loudly though no one else seemed to hear it.
"What're you gonna do with him?" Baal asked as Bailey held the golden trinket up in the moonlight. She frowned as she noticed the green light in the vile had completely faded.
"I think I'll let them take care of it," she nodded to the black eyed children who stood before the cross on the wall. They moved in unison to the man who started to squirm and scream as they collectively grabbed his legs.
The innocent stepped away as the children giggled and dragged the man behind them, he screamed in fear and anger as a line of blood followed.
"I'll be back! I swear! I'll kill you if it's the last thing I do!"
He vanished from view as the kids dragged him down a flight of hidden stairs behind the cross. Their laughter filled the room before it went silent. Bailey turned on her heels and made for Hani who looked at her with hope glittering in his gaze.
She knelled down to him as he laid wheezing on the floor,
"I got it, you'll be okay!" She said, feeling tears in her eyes as she handed the Adinkra to him. He shook his head at her,
"It's too late,"
"No! It's not! Take it," she demanded but he simply shook his head.
"It no longer belongs to me," he whispered, "I'm dying."
She watched as ash started to fall around him in the shape of giant, brilliant wings.
"No..please you can't die! We can help you we--"
"Bailey," he choked out, "that Adinkra is my gift to you," he reached up a shaken hand and placed it palm side down over the trinket that she held. Their palms connected as a rush of energy rolled into her system.
"But--"
"You are one of the king's, I saw it," he wheezed, "in the writing, a king will appear with a LionHeart to stop the false prophet,"
She glanced towards Baal who stood beside her now, looking shocked.
"You, are a king of humanity,"
With that his head fell to the side, his hand dropped to the floor and he was gone. moonlight shone through the stained glass, it covered his body for a few rapid heartbeats before dying out. She stared at his lifeless body before letting her hands race over the ash.
She felt someone's hand on her shoulder, looking up with a tearful look she saw Abigail. The woman held out a small golden locket,
"For...saving us," she murmured.
Bailey took it from her and sniffled. She opened the empty, small circle, scooping up some of the ash and placing it inside.
"I wish I found your son's alive," Bailey murmured, rubbing her eyes.
"Me too," she whispered, Baal sat down beside Bailey. She leaned against him, sighing as wind rushed over the ash of the wings scattering it.

Police walked around the church, chatting with the innocent and carting out a few dead bodies that drank the poison. Theo and Dagmar walked up to the pair where they sat on a bench outside of the church, the sun was coming up now it had taken a while for the cops to show and even longer for the FBI.
"Great, you're back," she snorted, "can we go home now?"
Theo let out a sigh as he sat down on the bench beside her, watching his men work.
"We found the altar, a lot of bodies. Mostly children," he said in a matter of fact tone.
"Not sure what to do about it," he admitted, Dagmar nodded at this. She leaned against the bench with her arms crossed,
"You told us everything?" She asked. Both nodded,
"Are we arrested or something?"
"No," Theo whistled, "but we can arrest you if you don't tell us where Abel is hiding."
"Why do you want to know?" Bailey asked.
"Classified," he replied smoothly before getting to his feet.
"Uh, Mr. Rose!" Theo turned his attention to a police officer who waved him over.
"You two are free to go, tell Abel I'm looking for him," Theo said as he and Dagmar made their way towards the officer.
"We found a few kids, they're alive but pretty shaken and hungry," Bailey shot up at this, she didn't wait for Baal as she made her way to the police officer.
"Where?"
The police looked at her then to Theo who nodded, "uh well miss. We found them near the Altar down below, in the giant cave."
Bailey looked towards Baal who had gotten up and made his way over to them,
"We were in there, we didn't see them," she whispered. The officer shrugged at this,
"Maybe they were behind the waterfall," Baal grunted to her, the officer looking at the man with a puzzled expression.
"There wasn't a waterfall down there,"
Bailey froze, a feeling of dread rose into her throat like bile, "yes there was," she instead, "and a lot of water! My pants were soaked,"
"I don't know where you two went," the office chuckled, "but there wasn't any water down there. Completely dry."

Abigail sighed as she moved around the kitchen, tears still in her eyes as she cleaned up. Her chest felt empty without her children or the necklace that had been in her family for generations.
A knock at the door alerted the woman, she sniffled and made way to the front. Rubbing her hands on her apron before opening it, her heart stopped. A short, nicely dressed man stood before her with none other than her son,
"Barry!" She shouted, throwing her arms around him and wailing loudly. He cried as well, burying his face into her chest.
Theo handed her a card, and the woman took it from him. Thanking him a few times, she glanced up to see Bailey and Baal's car driving past the home. She waved at them vigorously, pointing towards her son. Bailey gave her a thumbs up from behind the wheel, pushing her sunglasses on her face.
She took a turn at the gas station, with that they left the tiny town behind them.
"So," Bailey murmured, glancing at Baal, "I'm a king,"
"Is that going to go to your head?" He asked with a smile.
"Maybe!" She snorted with a laugh as the sun kissed the clouds above.
"Well, as your Lionheart, I'll do my best to stop that,"
She smiles at him, turning up the radio with a broad smile.
"Let's go rub it in Abel's face,"
The phone let out a whine, Sam's name popping up on the screen. Bailey answered with a smile,
"We did it Sammy!" She said with a grin.
"Did you two know that you were being recorded the entire time?"
Bailey frowned, "recorded?"
"The entire fight with that guy? It's all over the news."
"Like, someone recorded it on the phone?" She asked with an arched eyebrow.
"No, it's like, someone was shooting a movie." He said with a groan, he sounded tired as if he hadn't slept in the past few days.
"Did you see? I'm a king!" Bailey said with her head up high despite the ominous feeling that they were somehow being watched.
"Yeah, uh, we gotta talk about that." Sam murmured.
"Is Baal there?" A voice broke over Sam's words, the phone was shuffled before the speaker was turned on.
"Baal?"
"Danjal? Is that you?" Baal gawked at the phone with a smile.
Danjal laughed, "You ugly son of a gun! Get back here we got shit to talk about!"
"Yay, more demons," Bailey said with a sarcastic tone in her voice but Baal ignored this.
"Yeah uh, something happened here…" Sam whispered, his voice broke lightly.
"What happened?" Bailey whispered, giving Baal a terrified look.
"Well," Sad seemed to be anxious, she heard him pop open a pill bottle. "Cain...he wanted Abel to meet their mother,"
"Did she...like deadname him or something?" Bailey asked, noticing the discomfort in Sam's voice.
"Yeah uh, no, well...a little. She...attacked him,"
"What?" Baal gasped, his eyes wide at the news. Bailey almost couldn't speak, she could never imagine hurting her own kid. But then again, tonight a dead child saved the lives of many.
"Is he okay?" Bailey asked,
"No," Sam replied, she could feel Baal's rage growing beside her. The man always talked about Abel, always excited to teach him. If she didn't know any better she'd assume Baal was the man's father.
"He...well, it was an accident. She came at him with this kitchen knife and he...reacted," she heard Sam take a swig of his drink, "she's dead."
Bailey slammed on the break, pulling over to the side of the road so her full attention could be on the conversation at hand.
"Where's Abel?" She demanded, feeling fear rush through her blood.
"He...he's asleep," Sam murmured, "he...he's not doing so good. Neither is Cain, we can talk more when you get here. He needs us,"
"We'll be there soon," Bailey said with a frown as she hung up the phone, glancing towards Baal with an anxious look that settled deep into her features.
"Let's get back quick," Baal whispered, Bailey nodded at this. Pulling back onto the road.
As they zoomed towards the home a large pair of wings flew above than through the clouds, a video camera held in their hands as they recorded the car. A grin bright on their face, eyes glowing. Whispering to themselves, "That's four Adinkra found only one more to go, than the real fun begins,"
