Two hours later Diane and her sisters pull up at the gate where the party was being held and the party was in full swing. The doctor confirmed that she indeed had a throat infection; he also saw how badly the child wanted to attend her friend's party so he told Diane that Jasmine could go but only for about an hour or two any longer and she could cause more damage to her throat. The doctor prescribed some medicine which they bought at the pharmacy after leaving the doctor's office.
They were given three chairs, Diane got one with cushions and her sisters took two white plastic ones. They put them under a cool tree and sat down where they could keep an eye on Jasmine. "You two must be really tired of me dragging you all over the place," Diane said to her sisters as she enjoyed the cool breeze. Dana smiled and rolled her eyes at Diane.
"Far from it girl, we're happy to be here, helping you out has been a real treat for us." She said grinning. "True words sis; in more ways than one; we get paid ten grand per week, we get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus we get to take our kids to work with us whenever we want and I get to drive a Toyota Tundra 4x4 every day and today I get to drive an Escalade, we're living life girl." Diana ads while doing a funny dance.
'And we get to drool over your extremely hot sexy husband every day.' Dana thought to herself but out loud she said. "Oh and don't forget that they throw the best parties, I'm telling you, I had food for days after that engagement party. Dana laughs. "Me too, I had so much food I had to give some to my neighbor's kids, girl when your husband throws a party, he throws a party. Speaking of which, tomorrow is your doctor's appointment, how do you feel?" Diana asks. "I feel fine, the doctor keeps saying that it's a possibility that the babies will come this month but I don't want my babies to be born premature, I want to go my full term."
"Well, I don't care what that doctor says, I believe you'll go the full term, I mean look at you, and you're as healthy as a horse," Diana commented. "Yeah and big like one too," Diane replied rubbing her belly. "You know what's funny; Gabriel and I have been so busy enjoying this pregnancy that we haven't even picked names for them yet." Diane laughs.
"I think you should name them off your husband, the guy's name is as sexy as he is." Dana suggests. "That's actually a good idea, besides we don't need any more names starting with the letter D, so I think I'll name them after him, I can't wait to see what they're going to look like."
Diana smiled at Diane. "It's so good to see you, happy sis." "Thank you, I'm happy, I don't know what I've done in my life to deserve a guy like Gabriel but I'm so happy and blessed to have him as my husband. He has come such a far way. He made a lot of mistakes but he has turned his life around and I'm so proud of him, he's bringing people to God without even knowing it." She comments with pride.
"Some times people come for the free food but after they listen to him speak the word of God, they realized how anointed he is and it changes them in ways I can't explain." Diana nods her head in agreement. "I know what you mean; I have been to a couple of his Bible classes and let me tell you; I've never seen so many people in church on Wednesday nights before, it was like Sunday morning service, the church was full."
"That's so true, I've been there a few times when he's teaching and I like the way he makes it fun, he will make you laugh, he'll make you cry but most of all he makes you take a long honest look at your self and it's either you decide to change or you decide to ignore your problems and continue living in sin but let me tell you, the more you listen to him, the more you want to change your life for the better." Dana comments.
Diane's phone began ringing at that moment and she checks to see who it was, it was Gabriel. "Hi baby, are you okay?" She asks. "Yeah, I'm alright but my driver didn't make it, he died half an hour ago, I'll be parking that bus until he's laid to rest, and from the noise, in the background, I'm guessing Jasmine got to go to her friend's party." "Yes she did but the doctor says she should only stay for a little while so we're giving her another hour and then we'll be taking her home."
"Okay I just need to talk to the driver's family and then I'll be meeting the guys and their girls for lunch, so we can discuss a few things for their wedding." "Okay baby, take care of yourself, I'll see you at home later, I love you." "I love you more baby girl, tell your sisters to drive safely okay." "I'll baby bye." "Bye beautiful." "I think the man's ears were ringing." Diana laughs as Diane ends the call.
It was three-thirty pm when Gabriel walks into the Chinese restaurant, his friends and their girls were already there waiting for him. "Hi everyone." He greets them with a smile. "You look tired prince and that's not something you see every day," Mike commented as Gabriel sat down.
"Yeah, Mike is right, no matter how busy you're, you always look like you just step from the spa," Justin adds. "The man just lost one of his drivers give him a break." Marlon scowls at his friends. Gabriel ran his hands over his face and lean his head left then right, as he tried to relax his neck muscles. "It's been a long day, so where are we with the wedding plans?" He asks. "Well, everything is going great so far. There's just one problem." Mike said looking nervous. "Which is?"
"Well, we all want you to be our best man," Justin said. "I don't see that as a problem but I thought I was supposed to stand up for Mike and Justin you were supposed to be standing up for Marlon." "That's not going to work, because then there would be no one to stand up for me," Justin said sadly. "And there lies the problem." Mike finish.
"So we've come up wid another idea, we want you to stand up for all of us on the same day," Marlon said. "Wow, I can't wait to hear how you guys are planning to pull this one-off," Gabriel said leaning back in his chair and folding his arms across his chest. "Mike's girl took the challenge. "Here's what we were planning, we all want to support each other on our big day, because we're only planning on doing this once, so we were thinking that we, meaning us could arrive at the church by eleven am which is when the first wedding begins…."
"That's me, in case you were wondering who would be first." Justin cuts in. "Right and I will arrive at eleven twenty." Justin's girl said. "And you'll be his best man and we'll be there to support him, then his girl will wait for him in the limo while he supports us who'll be next at twelve-thirty, then you can be my baby's best man. I will join Justin's wife in the limo, then you all do the same for Marlon, when all that is finished we all go back in the church for the thing you were talking about doing for us, then we all get in the limo and go take some photos." Mike's girl said.
Gabriel shakes his head at them. "You guys have seriously lost it, and you ladies don't mind sitting in a limo and wait while you support each other?"He laughs. "We're willing to relax, drink champagne and chill while they take care of business." Marlon's girl said. "And there will be a fifteen minutes break between each ceremony so you'll have some time to freshen up or call Diane whichever you choose, so what you think, can it work?" Marlon asks.
Gabriel thought about it while he ate his lunch. "Well if you girls are willing to do this, then so am I." His friends clap their hands and high-five each other. "Good, now that we have that settled, how are things going wid the reception?" Marlon asks and again Gabriel couldn't help smiling at Marlon's Jamaican accent. "duh reception is set, duh guests will return to meeee house after duh church ceremony…." "Wait a wa you a try do? Talk patwa." Marlon asks as they all burst out laughing.
"Yea mon, how meee sound?" Gabriel asks rubbing his cheeks. "Ridiculous; leave it, it doesn't fit you not with that accent," Mike said laughing. "For crying out loud fine; anyway as I was trying to say; after we're finished taking photos we'll meet them there. I told the caterers to cater for four hundred people…." "Make that four hundred and fifty." Mike cut in. "Okay, four fifty it is, I've ordered a large wedding cake which is going to be placed in the center of the reception area."
He shows them a photo of the cake he had in mind, it had a large white base, there was a three-story cake on the right-hand side and another on the left with brides and grooms on both., then In the middle, there was a four-story cake also with a bride and a groom, the entire cake was covered with red, white, orange and pink roses. He had ordered it to be decorated in the same colors that were going to be used to decorate the reception area.
The guy's and their girl's eyes widen in awe. "Holy mother of God," Justin whispers in amazement. "I don't think there's any word in the dictionary to describe this thing, it's magnificent." Everyone was speechless for a few minutes. "How much does it cost to make something like this prince?" Mike asks. "Don't worry about that, it's a gift from me to you guys." "This is the best-looking cake I have ever seen in my life." Marlon's girl commented as she ran her fingers over the photo. "I'm glad you all like it; now after the grand reception, I told the wedding planner to organized three private receptions for each of you, only you, your wives, and your family will be at that one. Mike yours will be at the Hilton ballroom, Marlon you're at the Waterfall, and Justin you'll be at the Pegasus Ballroom."
Justin opened his mouth to say something but Gabriel cut him off. "No Justin, I'll not be coming to any of these private functions, that's your time to just be with your wife and family." "How did you know I was going to ask you that?" Justin asks in surprise and Gabriel rubs his temple. "I could feel that question coming from a mile away Justin, now if there's nothing else, I have to go."
"You can go, we'll call you if we think of anything else," Mike said as Gabriel got up to leave. "You all take care okay." "We'll drive safely man, we'll holler at you tomorrow." Gabriel took a step then stops and turns back to his friends. "Claudette I almost forgot how are you and the baby doing?" "All my tests have shown great results so we just have to hope for the best." She said rubbing her belly. "Alright, just remember, if you need anything just call okay." "Thanks, prince we will," Justin said. "Okay, I'm out, peace." He said holding up his two fingers then using his fork he took one of Justin's jumbo shrimp off his plate and after putting it into his mouth he left the restaurant.
