Second bonus chapter

Diane pov

I take a deep breath as I watch my husband walk down the passage with Karen. I took out my phone and call Josh, he answers on the third ring. "Hello." He said into the phone. "Hi Josh it's Diane, Karen went into labor a few minutes ago and I thought you might want to be here for the birth," I said gripping the phone tightly. "No, not really." He said in a dry tone. "Excuse me?" I ask in surprise. "Look, I already said that I would take care of the child but I think I'll skip the birth, now I have a lot to do here so I have to go." He said and hangs up.

"Wait, what? Did this son-of-a-bitch just hang up on me?" I ask myself as I stared at the phone as if it was an alien lifeform. My ears were starting to get hot to how angry I was at that moment. I then dial Diana's number. "Hey Diana, how are the babies?" I ask walking to a window. "They are great, terrorizing us all to get their own way, little monsters, so what's up?" Diana asks.

"Well Gabriel and I went to the auto shop to collect some papers and he found Karen there and she was in labor, so now we're at the hospital with her," I said through clenched teeth. "Why?" She asks in a disapproving tone. "Well, because it doesn't seem like she has anyone else," I mumble. "Call Josh, he's the father!" Diana said raising her voice. "I did, and he said he doesn't want to be there for the birth, can you believe it? He lied to her, got her pregnant, and now he can't be bothered to come here for the birth of his son." I said in disgust.

"Well, he will have to come there soon anyway because Marie should also be giving birth very soon," Diana said. "Yeah but in the meantime, My husband is the one in there holding her hand and she is milking it for all it's worth, I would have said something before but I didn't want to sound like a bitch, but man is she milking this moment," I said with a frustrated groan.

"Well her acting will soon come to an end because she will have to get real very soon and focus on bringing that child into this world; so how long will this take?" Diana ask. "I don't know but could you please pick up jasmine at school for me?" "Yeah sure no problem, keep me posted alright." "Yep, will do." I end the call and walk towards the room and once again my head grows three times its size when I saw Karen grabbing onto my man's shirt and burying her face in his neck. She saw him pull away but Karen just grabs him tighter.

"What's going on?" I ask a nurse when she came out of the room. "it's not time yet for her to push, she has a little further to go but her husband is keeping her as calm as he can, he's a big help." The nurse said with a broad smile. "Okay look, first of all, he's not her husband, he's just a friend. He's my husband, not hers." I said a little more hostile than I intended to but to hell with all this, he was mine damn it."

So taking another deep breath I push the door and walk into the room. "How's it going?" I ask even though I already knew the answer. "I'm not sure how to answer that question." He said trying once again to put a little space between him and Karen but Karen wasn't having any of it and I had had enough but before I could speak he did.

Um, baby, I need to make a call, could you keep her company for a little while?" He asks. "Sure," I said plastering a fake smile on my face as he left the room. "Is there anything I can do?" I ask. "Could I have some ice chips please?" She said taking shallow breaths. "Um sure…I guess, let me get the nurse." I said leaving the room.

I found the nurse told her of Karen's request and she went to get it. A few minutes later she returns with a cup of ice chips and went into the room to give Karen, I was about to follow her when Gabriel grabs my arm and pulls me further down the hall. "What?" I ask with a puzzled look on my face.

"I tried calling Josh but I can't reach him." He said running his hands over his face. "Oh, I already call him; he said he wasn't interested in being here for the birth," I said. "He actually said that?" He asks in shock. "Yup," "Christ, unbelievable, well I guess it's up to us then, let's go." He said walking back towards the room and I followed.

Half an hour later the doctor came back and said that it was time for her to have her baby and they took her to the delivery room Gabriel went in but I stayed outside because only one of us could go in; I wasn't pleased about it but what was I to do, there was an innocent little baby involved so I just had to suck it up.

It seems like forever while I stand out there; I was beginning to get restless when Marlon came and stand next to me. "Everything going good?" he asks. "I guess, it's been a while though, hope everything is okay in there." "Where is Prince?" "In there," I said pointing. "Oooookaaay then, no wonder you look about ready to blow a fuse." Marlon laughs.

Gabriel pov.

This was a lot harder than I thought. Diane didn't go through this so I guess this was my first time being next to a woman that was actually giving birth, wow, how do I put it, brutal; I mean come on, this was serious stuff and I was having a hard time figuring out which was the most serious; a vaginal birth or a C section; both seems like life and death to me and the one that was partly responsible for this didn't even want to be here; that was just cold.

She had been pushing for what seems like a long time but finally, the doctor announces that she saw the head and after another big push out came the bloody little thing and I mean that in a literal sense. "It's a boy." The doctor said with a smile as the newborn began to scream its lungs out.

The nurse cleans him up then showed him to his mother, then turns to me. "Would you like to hold him, daddy?" The nurse asks coming over to me. "I'm not the father but hey why not," I said as she put the tiny little baby in my arms. "Hey little guy, welcome to the world; now I know that it can get a little rough out here but don't worry you will have a lot of people around you to help you through it alright," I said smiling down at him. The nurse then took him from me and took him to the nursery while they clean up Karen.

I was about to leave when she grabs my hand. "Please don't leave." She whispers. "I'll be right back, just rest okay," I said and left the room and went to find my wife. I found her and Marlon in the waiting room. "Hey, guys," I said walking over to them and hugging her tightly. "How is she?" Diane asks. "Okay I think; she's resting now," I said and stretch.

"You two have done enough, the two a you should go home, I'll stay here with her, go home and get some rest; gwaan man, me have this," Marlon said shooing them out the door and leave we did. We went home took a bath together, had something to eat then spend some time with our kids then put them to bed.

The following morning I got up did my daily routine which is read my daily scripture, hit the gym for an hour, and then made my shake, then took a bath and wake my wife and we both tend to our kids then we all had breakfast together. I was going to take Jasmine to school this morning because Diane had a few classes to catch up on.

A few minutes later I kiss her and my babies goodbye and left the house with jasmine and after a full day of meetings and checking up on a few of my business I decides to stop off at the hospital to check on Karen before going home, now that may or may not be such a good idea but still, I find myself walking into the hospital anyway because that was what I would have done for anyone.

Needless to say, her face light up as soon as I enter her room. "Gabriel, hi." She said with a bright smile. "Hi, how's the little guy?" I ask. "Great." She said smiling at her baby. "What's his name?" I ask. "Oh, his name is Joseph Geovani Richmore. I wanted him to have a little piece of your name in his since you help bring him into this world." She said playing with the baby's little fingers.

"I'll be going home tomorrow and I hired a lady to help me out with the baby until I get back on my feet so I think we'll be okay and you can drop by to say hi anytime you wish." "That's never going to happen," Marie said coming into the room. "There's no way I'm going to allow you to do to Diane what you did to me, ain't going to happen." She said placing a bag on the table.

"What are you doing here Gabriel? You shouldn't be here. Go home to your wife and kids." Marie said glaring at Karen. "With all due respect Marie I'm not your husband, he made the choice to break your trust and now you'll never look at him the same again, but please don't use what he did and judge me, please don't do that, now I wish you all the best," I said and turn to leave.

"How can you be here when she wants her next child to be yours?" Marie asks me as I reach the door. "Well, as you said before, that's never going to happen, have a good evening," I said and left.

An hour later I got home as Diane's sisters were about to leave, so I let them out and after exchanging a few words with my aunt I went in search of my wife and kids. I found them all in our room on the floor, oh what a wonderful picture this was, my family, my lovely family, no way in hell was I ever going to do anything to hurt them but make no mistake first chance I got I told my wife that I had stopped at the hospital and about my conversation with Sis Marie because I know for a fact that keeping things from your partner is a sure way of ruining your marriage. You feel me?
