After Sydra gave his short speech, the rest of the ceremony was just Captain Smith talking about a few more changes on the island, and people asking any questions they had. Heading back up to the others, Sydra waited until the ceremony was over and most people had left before going back down to grab the Abyss Ember.
"Do you need any help transporting this?" Captain Smith asks as Sydra hops up onto the stage.
"No, I'll just place it into my Arbor Sanctum," Sydra says as he places his hand on the glass box and sends it away. Turning to look at Captain Smith with a questioning look, Sydra pulls out the ship medal once more. "So how exactly does this work?"
"Ah, it is really quite simple actually. After completing a transaction at a place, just put the medal against a piece of paper or something, and it will imprint the shape of the ship on it. The imprint will also tell my workers exactly how much is owed," Captain Smith says as he takes the medal from Sydra's hand and presses it against the podium, which causes a flash of light.
"Hmm, now there is a ship imprint on the podium, with the number zero in the middle. Interesting, but how do you know someone won't fake the imprint, and how much is my limit for a year?" Sydra asks as Captain Smith hands the medal back to him.
"Your yearly limit is ten thousand pearls, but that should be able to buy you two large ships of the highest quality. You also don't have to worry about someone faking the imprint, as we have measures in place for that," Captain Smith says as he and Sydra head off the stage to meet up with the others.
"That's good to know, this medal will be quite helpful to me when I'm purchasing things these next few days," Sydra says as he shakes Captain Smith's hand. "Anyway, we're going to get going now, as we still have a few stalls we want to visit before the night ends,"
"Sounds good, if you have the time before you leave our island, you should come to visit me one last time. Have a good night," Captian Smith says as he and Naimo walk back towards the central ships.
"So what's the plan?" Robert asks as the group heads back into the festival to participate at a few more stalls.
"I plan on heading into the forging area tomorrow and having Gail start working on turning the Abyss Ember into a cannon, and maybe some more daggers if there are leftover pieces," Sydra says as he pays an attendant at a bow and arrow game to let Marie and Cidre have a contest.
"You and your daggers, didn't you just have some forged?" Erich asks as Sydra nods and pulls out one of his Sea Meteorite Daggers.
"Yup, but a man can never have enough daggers," Sydra says as he flips the dagger around a few times.
"Humph, real men use war hammers," Robert says as he flexes his muscles. Laughing, the group head to a few more stalls before calling it night. After sending the group into the Arbor Sanctum, Sydra walks back towards Peggy's house. Nervously stepping up to the door, Sydra knocks a few times before he hears a few locks clicking.
"Who is it?" Peggy asks as she opens the door and allows the bright light inside to blind Sydra.
Covering his eyes, Sydra tries to look at Peggy, who is only wearing some light clothing. "Hey, it's me. I was hoping I could use your tree again tonight?" Sydra asks awkwardly as he looks away from Peggy.
"My tree again? You know my bed is big enough for two," Peggy says suggestively, but Sydra must shake his head.
"No thanks, I like the feeling of the night air on my skin as I sleep," Sydra says as he tries to imagine how her bed works anyway. 'I thought it was like a tanning bed, but I think I might have been wrong,'
"Your loss, but sure. You may use my tree for as long as you like, just stop by in the morning and I'll cook breakfast for you," Peggy says as Sydra nods his head in thanks and heads over to the tree. Setting up the hammock goes by fast, and Sydra is soon asleep.
The next morning Sydra and Peggy get to know each other better over breakfast, which was Tonko eggs and Deapule bacon. Once breakfast was over, Sydra headed into town, and let the others out to do their own things.
"Did Marie want to go out too?" Sydra asks as the group stretches out their limbs.
"No, she said that last night really tired her out, so she plans on resting in her tree for a bit today, and possibly the next week," Erich says as he stands up and pulls out his pouch of pearls to see how many he had left since last night.
"Gotcha, in that case, I'll be heading over to see Gail, and have him start forging the cannon for us," Sydra says. As the group splits up, he pulls out his map and stares at it intensely. 'This time I will not get lost,' Sydra thinks as he begins following the directions that Peggy had written for him that morning.
The directions are easy to follow, and Sydra quickly finds himself standing outside of Gail's newly upgraded forge. After Sydra had left, it seems that Gail had recovered an influx in orders, and used that money to purchase new tools and building supplies. Even now, there was a small line outside of his forge, and people were rushing in and out.
'Hmm, maybe I should find a different blacksmith to forge the cannon,' Sydra thinks as he looks at the long line in front of him. Stepping back, Sydra bumps into someone and turns around to see a large man with a scorched beard standing there.
"Hey, your that guy who found the solution for the island's curse. Sydra, right?" The man asks, causing everyone to turn around in surprise. "Why are you standing in line?"
"Oh, I just needed some work done, but it seems that Gail is busy with other orders," Sydra says as people begin to crowd around him.
"I'm sure no one here would mind if you went before all of them, isn't that right?" The man asks the crowd, causing everyone to nod their heads and step to the side. "My name is Anvel, and if Gail can't fulfill your order, you should come to my forge," Anvel says as he pats Sydra on the back.
"Ah, I've heard about you from Gail, you're the one who trained him, right? So why are you standing in line then?" Sydra asks as he walks to the front of the line and waits for the people inside to leave before entering.
"I simply came to give him my congratulations, and I saw no reason to skip the line for that," Anvel says as the door opens and a couple of men walk out. Looking inside, Sydra sees a few men working around the forge, and a teenage boy standing at the counter to take orders.
"Wow, it sure has changed since I came here last. Did it become bigger as well?" Sydra asks as he notices that the room has several distortion runes around that are used to enlarge the space in the room.
"Sydra! What brings you by, there isn't a problem with the daggers, is there?" Gail asks as he walks across the room to Sydra, before noticing that Anvel was standing behind him. "Master? You came here as well?"
"Yes, I simply came to give you my congratulations on such a quick rise in business," Anvel says as he pulls out a solid black hammer and hands it to Gail. "I was going to give this to you on your birthday, but I believe you deserve it now," Anvel says as Gail stares at the hammer in shock.
"But... this is your hammer, the one you forged out of Nightsea Iron," Gail says as he looks at Anvel in confusion.
"Yeah, but since I'm retiring I've decided to give it to you. Use it to forge this young man's items and see if you like it," Anvel says as he turns around and walks out before Gail can say anymore.
Still shocked by the words that Anvel left with, Gail turns to look at Sydra. "He said you wanted something forged? I'm assuming it's something made from the Abyss Ember?" Gail says as he excitedly looks past Sydra for the rock, but becomes disappointed when he can't see it.
"Actually yeah, I was hoping you could make this into a cannon, and if you have leftover parts, to turn them into daggers," Sydra says as he pulls the glass case out of his Arbor Sanctum, causing the ground to shake as it drops to the floor.
"Haha, I will do my best work yet with it," Gail says as his eyes light up, and he holds his new forge hammer in the air.
