"Thanks, the less attention we get, the better," Sydra says, taking one of the uniforms from Cho. The inside of the uniform was covered in runes, and when Sydra put it on, the runes activated to change the size of the uniform to fit his body.
"Woah, I would love to have some of these runes put into my outfits back at home," Lucas says as the uniform shrinks around his body, "You look good too, Katrina,"
While the boy's uniforms were a set of navy blue and black coats, the girls instead wore light blue and yellow skirts. Twirling around, Kayla shows off her outfit as Jason and Lucas clap in admiration, "If you think it looks good, maybe I should wear things like this more often,"
"Are you guys ready?" Indra asks, "Dinner is about to start, and I'm hungry,"
Following Indra and Cho out of the room, the group makes their way down to the first floor, where an open cafeteria is filled with students clamoring for food. The smell of meat grilling, as well as other delicacies, wafts throughout the room, causing Sydra's mouth to water.
"Where should we sit?" Lucas asks as he looked around the crowded room. "All the tables look full,"
"We're sitting up there," Jason says pointing towards the ceiling. Looking up, Sydra notices a balcony hanging from the ceiling, with several students already eating there, "That is the advanced class's area, and since you guys are our guests, you can sit there too,"
"If it's for the advanced students, then why aren't their many students eating there?" Sydra asks, noticing that the only students eating there were the ones from Jason's group earlier, "Also, how are we supposed to get up there?"
"There is another cafeteria for the other advanced students on the third floor, so not many come to eat in here," Jason explains as he starts leading the group across the cafeteria, "But those who do eat in here simply teleport into the balcony,"
By now everyone was standing in line, piling their plates high with different foods. When they finish, everyone follows Jason over to a platform off in the corner, "This was created by one of the lunch ladies who work here. She can by infusing it with her aura,"
Stepping onto the platform, Jason is teleported into the balcony hanging from the ceiling, quickly followed by Sydra and the others. The balcony was created in the shape of a nest, and there are ten wooden tables set up around it. With the cafeteria being open to the outdoors, a warm fall breeze blows through the balcony, and the sounds of birds chirping give it a serene feeling.
"Tila and Tio, this is Sydra, Luke, and Katrina," Jason says, introducing everyone to each other, "Sydra is going to be participating in the week-long training under Captain Zeis with us,"
"Really?" Tio asks, looking Sydra up and down, "I'm curious to know why he qualifies for the training, no offense,"
"It's fine, I understand where you're coming from," Sydra says, "The reason why Prof. Curtis offered me a chance to join the training was that he believes it would help me control my powers better,"
"And what power do you possess, exactly?" Tio asks, still looking skeptical about Sydra's participation, "It must be something pretty spectacular,"
"Enough, Tio," Jason says, glaring at Tio, "You'll find out during the training. For now, we should prepare for company,"
Before anyone can ask what he means, the sound of the teleporter activating gathers their attention. Walking out of it is a group of students who look like they believe themselves superior to everyone else. When they see Jason, the students begin to smirk, and a boy with blue hair makes his way over.
"So this is where you ran off to," the boy says as he throws his arm over Jason's shoulder, "I was getting worried about your health, have you been eating enough?"
"I appreciate your concern, Percy," Jason says, pulling away from Percy, "But I've told you before that you shouldn't worry yourself over me,"
"Now, now, that won't do. It's my job as a noble to watch out over you commoners," Percy says, waving over one of his friends, who was carrying a plate full of food, "Here, let me complete my noble duties,"
Taking the plate from his friend, Percy dumps the food over Jason's head, smirking as it runs down his body, "Oops, sorry about that. Let me help you clean it up,"
Before anyone can move, Percy grabs a glass of water and pours it over the food, drenching Jason's clothes, "There, that looks better, doesn't it guys?"
"Yeah, Percy, your such a generous noble. Looking after people of lesser birth like that," The nobles behind Percy begin to chime in one after another, each praising Percy for his magnanimous behavior.
Hearing the nobles encourage Percy's behavior, Sydra think back to his death, and how he had been treated like trash by someone with more wealth, 'Even in another world, those with money look down on those without it,'
Standing up, Sydra narrows his eyes at the nobles, causing them to turn their attention to him, "You know, your looking pretty hungry yourself,"
Picking up a banana from the table, Sydra points the end of it towards Percy while activating his divine lightning aura. Squeezing the banana, Sydra releases the divine lightning into the peel, and the banana shoots out of it like a rail gun, splattering all over Percy and his followers.
"Oh, sorry about that. You just looked hungry to me," Sydra says, his face looking anything but apologetic.
"Why... You!" Percy yells, his finger shaking in Sydra's face, "I'll have you know that my father is a dean at this school, and I'll have you expelled,"
"Sounds good, you do that then," Sydra says, sitting back down as Percy storms out of the balcony with the other nobles. Once they were all gone, Sydra turns to Jason, "I'm sorry if that causes you trouble in the future, I've just had a bad experience with people using wealth or position to bully others,"
"Haha, at you kidding me?" Jason says, slapping his hand against the table, "That was amazing! I mean, did you see the way he looked?"
Looking around, Sydra notices that everyone else is smiling as well, "That's good to hear, I was worried my actions might affect you guys,"
"Even if it does, you shouldn't worry about it," Indra says as he hands some napkins to Jason, "We've been dealing with Percy's obnoxious behavior for the past three years, and that was the first time anyone stood up to him,"
"What Indra says comes from all of us," Tio says, seeing Sydra in a new light, "And the way you handled that showed me why you deserve to join us during training,"
"Thanks, but that actually took a lot out of me," Sydra confesses, "Using that power requires intense focus, and also drains me of my energy,"
"In that case, you should probably eat the rest of your food, instead of firing it at unwanted visitors," Cho says, before glancing at Lucas and Kayla, "The two of you as well, hurry up and finish your food,"
During the next hour, everyone got to know each other better over lunch, and there were no more interruptions. Of course, most of that time was used to make fun of Jason, who still had food stuck to his clothes.
"Seriously, how do you handle the smell?" Lucas asks, plucking eggs shells out of Jason's hair, "I hope you have some good soap, cause you're going to need it,"
"Yeah, I know," Jason says, waving Lucas's hand away, "We should probably be getting back now, the cafeteria is close to being closed until dinner time, and we don't want to get stuck inside until then,"
"Especially not with you," Sydra says, causing everyone to break out into laughter again. Ignoring him, Jason leads everyone out of the cafeteria, only to have their path blocked by Percy and an older man standing next to him.
"There he is, father, the guy hiding behind Jason," Percy says, pointing towards Sydra, "He's the one who bullied me,"
"I see...," The older man says, looking Sydra up and down, "Do you think it's fun to bully others? What's your name, boy, and who's your teacher?"
Before Sydra can answer, the sound of some clearing their throat causes everyone to look in the direction of the stairs. Standing there is Prof. Curtis, and he isn't smiling, "Dean Crue, may I ask why you're stopping my students?"
"So this little brat is yours? That explains a lot," Dean Crue says as his eyes narrow, "Were you aware that your student was bullying others? I should have him expelled from the academy for it,"
"Oh? I'm assuming your son did nothing to deserve it, then?" Prof. Curtis says, his gaze sending shivers down Percy's spine, "Well, either way, I have a better idea than expulsion,"
"And that would be?" Dean Crue asks as he steps in front of his son, "Pray tell it's something good,"
"One week from now, your son versus my student in the arena," Prof. Curtis says, "The victor will receive the other half of the Storm Monarch's heart,"
Pondering for a few seconds, a wicked smile appears on Dean Crue's face, "I like the sound of that, but are you sure you can handle such a loss?"
