Broken promise

"BE FISH YOU JERK!"

Anthony held his breath, as the sky suddenly went dark.

The wind was blowing strongly and the rain was instantly falling.

"Does the magic work?" Anthony asked in his heart, he could still see Airin standing in front of him and staring at him angrily.

"Am I a fish now?" Ask Anthony.

Airin sighed, she stomped her feet to the ground, and then for a second, she sat next to Anthony.

"You're supposed to be a fish but why is it raining."

Seeing Airin's expression of frustration makes Anthony unable to contain his laughter.

Oh and stupidly he even thought he had been a fish for some time but it turned out he was still in the same shape.

"Don't laugh! I'm still learning, you know!"

Airin protests, she doesn't hesitate to hit Anthony's shoulder out of annoyance.

"So this great witch is still an amateur?" Anthony teased while wiping Airin's head.

"Don't touch me!" Airin protests again, she tries to lower Anthony's hand from her head but Anthony continues to rub her wet head because the rain still hasn't stopped.

"Anthony, stop!" An exasperated Airin holds Anthony's hand with both hands so that he stops touching her head.

Anthony smiles as he hears Airin calling him by Anthony's call, sounding familiar and feeling warm.

"Tell me, why did you get here? You want to colonize this land?" Ask Airin, she leans over and makes Anthony pull his face a little.

Somehow his heart was pounding especially when he realized that Airin's warm hands were still holding his hands tightly.

'I didn't believe in love until I met you, right now, this moment, a foreign woman who cursed me into a fish, a woman who was able to make my heart pound just because she looked me in the eye. This crazy but I'm in love.'

Anthony seems to want to dive into Airin's beautiful eyes, I don't know magically what happened to her, but Anthony can feel if God created Airin for him.

"Hey, why are you daydreaming? What are you doing here? You want to colonize this place?"

"Instead of this place, I'd rather have you."

Airin had never heard that sentence before, a short sentence that sounded like seduction and made his heart suddenly pound erratically.

"Your face is flushed." Anthony's whispers are seductive but Anthony doesn't quickly hold his head up because Airin's body scent is so alluring that Anthony can't control himself and a second later he's stuck his fangs around Airin's neck.

As soon as the rainwater floats in the air, the time again stops spinning. Airin can feel it all over her body heating up and very sick because Anthony's fangs are very sharp and he stabs it so deeply, so sick that airin's whole body feels shivering but slowly the pain fades and eventually disappears.

As time turned back, Airin unknowingly shed her tears but her gaze appeared blank while Anthony was still next to her, wiping the rest of Airin's blood on the tip of his lips with his thumb.

"Am I going to be a vampire after this?" Ask Airin as she turns towards Anthony.

"I don't think so," Anthony replied that he was bewitched by Airin who suddenly calmed down as if she were a different woman and a second later she looked sad.

"Why are you sad?"

"Because you easily stuck your fangs around my neck. Now I'm getting unsure if I'm going to be able to protect my people."

Airin plucks the nearby wildflowers and plucks them one by one.

"I will never be able to protect my people if at any time your people attack us."

"Why do you think that?"

"Because of the curse."

"The curse?"

"I was born to break the curse."

Anthony was getting out of the way of what Airin was talking about.

"Someday your people will attack our kingdom and destroy us all."

"How is that possible? That's never going to happen Airin."

"Who are you? Can you prevent that war from happening?"

"Of course, I'm a general of the war. I am the second prince of the kingdom of Etona and I will make sure that our kingdom will never invade the land of witches."

Airin doesn't know if Anthony's words are true or just empty promises but at least Airin feels calmer now.

"Then promise me."

Anthony sees Airin's hand extending his little finger, he doesn't understand what Airin was doing so Airin impatiently pulls Anthony's hand and links their little finger.

"You've promised me so never try to disbelieve or I'll curse you."

"All right, I promise," Anthony answered and a second later he kissed Airin's lips and made Airin's body freeze silent.

This was her first kiss, Airin screaming in the heart but which she did nothing about when Anthony started sipping her lips gently, giving her a sweetness she had never felt before.

It was Anthony's first kiss but his instincts led him to do something he never did very well and it felt so sweet even as he let go of Airin's lips, he couldn't look away from Airin's wet lips.

"I'll come again so make sure you can bewitch me before I kiss you again."

Anthony winks in his eyes and kisses Airin's lips briefly and then a second later he has disappeared from Airin's sight, leaving Airin who still can't believe what happened to her but it makes her unable to get angry even she feels millions of butterflies flying in her stomach.

Anthony smiles again, the memory was still very fresh in his memory, how he peeked at Airin who looked confused while holding his lips from a distance, memories that can never be repeated because Airin was gone.

And now the land of the fertile and beautiful Witch kingdom has changed because the leaves look fallen as if they have lost their power but what makes Anthony sad is not that he can't see the beauty of this place anymore but because he can't keep his promise to Airin.

"I'm sorry Airin, but I Will do anything so I can find your killer and finish him off with my own hands," Anthony said while clutching the dried leaves that fell on the palm of his hand and then discarded them after being crushed to pieces.

"Attack!" Without shouting, Anthony begins an assault on the witches.
