Digging the wound

"You're not going to be king?"

 "I don't think so, I don't want it."

 "Why?"

 "Because my brother wants it."

 "You succumb to him?"

"For me wherever my position in the kingdom is the most important thing is my people, I don't want them to get hurt and suffer."

Anthony had tears in his eyes, his palms still had Airin's blood that started to dry up.

He loves Airin, he loves her very much but he can't let his people continue to feel afraid and suffer so he has to make a very heavy and painful decision.

He remembered how he used to talk while hugging Airin and staring at the stars in the sky, in the yard of the house he built for Airin. Everything felt very peaceful and beautiful but everything can no longer be repeated. He had destroyed his happiness, he had healed Airin with his own hands.

Anthony's body shook, he cried in the corner of his quiet and darkroom.
