Revelations

As uneventful as the week had been, I relish the fact that I haven't seen Damon since Monday. His usual occupied seat in Art class was empty the next few days. I didn't have to worry about any run-ins with him on the weekend.

When Saturday comes around, I was bubbling with excitement over the sleepover my friends and I planned. I'm ready to dress up and let loose. I needed this, like yesterday.

I've only ever invited one other person into my home, and that was back in D.C. We aren't friends anymore because she turned fake on me. I think her name was Rhonda. She was a bitch in disguise, but I didn't find that out until later.

I was nervous. They were pictures of my father's family hanging all through the house. I didn't know why it bothered me so much that they would know Melody was my stepsister. Maybe I was thinking too hard about it. I doubt they would spill the secret to anyone else. Your family shouldn't dictate the make or break of a true friendship.
