CHAPTER 4 - LE DANGER

“Thank you princess for taking this responsibility that I suggested from your uncle.” Happily expressed the former Philippine General in Chief to his daughter, who is listening intently to him.

They're having a father, daughter talk right now after they went to General Domingo Ramos Head Quarters.

They both coffee lovers that’s why they stopover at their favorite coffee bar.

“Dad, don’t mention it……..I would never say ‘Yes’ to uncle if I can’t handle this, so no worries okay?”

Unfortunately behind the mask of confidence appearance is a worried young surgeon……deep inside she’s kind of apprehensive.

Glaiza knows she can handle this situation but the expectation that her godfather of an uncle show in his face earlier when they have the talk, makes her more nervous.

She doesn’t want to be overconfident…….this is a life and death situation, that the daughter of her godfather has been absconding discretely.

And now in the middle of this ambiguous affair………..she’s middling without the person whose involve of this matter knowledge of her existence……..’Good luck with that'.

“Don’t get me wrong princess, I know your uncle’s suggested men are very capable and really professional in terms of their work but I can’t trust them, Lai……………. I only trust you princess. But don’t think I’m not worried about your safety…….I am and so much so, but I have the confidence that you will not put yourself in a dangerous situation if the times call for it……right princess?” Pleading is what she sees in her father’s eyes.

“Dad?” Now she’s confused with her forehead so crest……how would her father say it to her when in the first place they entrusted her with the life of a human being, not just an ordinary being but none other than the daughter of her godfather.

“I know princess……I know, it’s just that…….” Before her father finished his sentiment, she cut him off.

“Dad…………you can’t expect me to do that and besides our life are not in our hands that we can control…….only God knows, just leave it to ‘HIM’ and dad don’t worry I assure you nothing bad will happened to me.” She knows that promising something to her father that she’s not sure of is quite difficult………but looking at her father’s face that is vexed about her safety is a different story, she would do anything or promise everything just to wipe out the sadness in his eyes…..anything……anything at all.

“Promise?” Asked again by the retired Genera Chief to his daughter………holding her hand.

The young surgeon just shakes her head nonetheless she nods as well, insuring her dad……who’s looking like a child at this moment.

Glaiza wants to laugh at the look of her father but as she sees how serious her old man, she contains it and leaves it to herself.

“So….when are you going to start princess?” Probed her old man, seeping the delicious coffee, Macchiato (also known as a Piccolo Latte) his favorite.

The macchiato (mah-key-AH-toe) is a cornerstone of Italian coffee culture, along with the espresso and cappuccino, among other coffee drinks. It is basically an espresso (served in a demitasse cup) with a small amount of foamed milk on top -- the name macchiato means "marked."

While Glaiza on the other hand loves her cappuccino with extra foam.

“A week from now dad,…….I have to study her daily routine, her schedules, and day-to-day living, just having safety percussions. I also have to arrange my schedule with the hospital I’m working at right now.” Responded to her daughter with lenience.

“You sounds like a stalker princess.” Jokingly said by the former general.

“Seems like it dad.” Agreed the young surgeon……….this will really be weird.

“By the way princess before anything else, you have to inform your mom about this as well.” Informing her daughter.

“Yes dad, I will. I don’t want mom getting worried as well……..she has to know of anything and everything that we have discourse.” Assuring the young de Castro.

Today is the third day she’s watching the young Ramos…………watching her afar…….prowling in the shadows observing her every movement but not in a creepy way of course.

She already informed the hospital where she works about her new day-to-day schedule, her personal contact details if there’s an emergency, and need her immediately if she’s not in the vicinity.

The young surgeon is now at the bar again where the young Architect owned………she has started from there.

She’s been doing this for three days now and for that span of days, she’s been encountering some ill-fated incident.

Like when the first day she starts to observe the young bar owner, a woman was almost raped……luckily she’s there or it will be a very tragic experience.

Then yesterday, she caught two men manipulating the car of the young Architect……they were very busy installing something at the vehicle that they didn’t notice her.

It’s already too late for them to react when Glaiza positions herself behind them and catches them red-handed.

When you’re in a confrontation, you only have a few seconds and a few moves to try before the fight may be decided…….and the young surgeon knows this already, that’s why she does it so fast and quietly.

The two men were shocked how a mere lean woman can defeat them easily without showing even a single sweat, thinking they are so big compared to her tiny physique.

She immediately calls her godfather when she tied the two men securely, making sure that they couldn’t escape.

The men are now in her godfather’s care trying to get a confession out from them and knowing who the mastermind behind this.

She’s hopeful that they would cooperate easily……but she doubted it as well, knowing those kinds of men, she knows where their loyalty stands.

Glaiza already transferred to a condo opposite to Rhian’s own, exactly opposite……she could view all Rhian's rooms, same as Rhian can view hers………from the living room, kitchen, and even the bedroom itself……….it’s like a mirroring unit.

She needs to be near to her ‘Persons of Interest’, making sure she could easily help her or protect her from any possible danger that may come…..….especially that they don’t know yet who is behind this unfortunate event.

Glaiza can’t be 24/7 on Rhian’s side, the young de Castro has to live her life as a normal being not just solely to the person she’s looking out for now.

That’s why she requested her close friends in the military before, to help her…….……..in times if she couldn’t watch over the young Ramos especially in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon.
