Just Tonight : Chapter 7

(Emma's POV)

"what is it is she gonna be ok?" Emma looked at the doctor fear in her eyes "I'm sorry we did all that we could but her heart wasn't strong enough to stand that amount of blood loss" after that Emma didn't hear anything she just stood frozen she couldn't believe it her mother was gone after everything and all that lost time all the hurtful things she had said to her mother she was so cruel to her, she didn't even get to make amends with her mother, she didn't even get to say goodbye. She felt Regina wrap her arms around her trying to comfort her she pushed her away not looking at her she couldn't breathe so she ran she had to get out of there.............

(Regina's POV)

"Emma?" she screamed "Emma!!" she didn't know what to do she knew Emma needed time but she wanted to comfort her but she also wanted to be there and see her friend one last time, her heart broke into a million pieces she had lost her best friend, her sister, she couldn't believe it why did her life have to be so cruel she was destined to lose all that she loves, she looked at David broken down sitting on the chair the man lost the love of his life even tho they weren't on good terms she had to be there for him it's what Mary would of wanted "David" she spoke softly as she went to sit beside him taking his hand in hers "David we should go see her" he pulled away "I don't want to say goodbye we had so much still left to do, she wanted me to come to see her to talk I was hoping to make up for all the shit I've done to her to Emma, I was so lost and so angry at myself for so long that's why I turned to drink but I've been going to meetings and trying to be a better man for her for our daughter" he cried again "You have to be there for Emma now David, she needs her father she needs you to be strong she needs you more now than ever before" he wrapped his arms around her hugging her tightly "You're right Reg" he sniffled "I know you're right, I just don't want to say goodbye, but I know I've got to, come on we will see her together" he stood up then looked around "where did Emma go?" he asked "she ran off she just needs a bit of time she has been through so much, but she is strong she will be ok in time, Il make sure of it" she held the man's hand as he nodded and they were lead to the room where her best friend was.............

(Emma's POV)

She didn't get too far pain shot through her leg "ah fuck, what the hell?" she held her leg while she came to a stop in the parking lot of the hospital she knew she shouldn't be running she wasn't fully back to herself yet but she just got that feeling in her chest she had to get out and breath she wanted to get far away but she couldn't she needed to see her mother to tell her how sorry she was but now she couldn't "she's dead" Emma said to herself as tears fell down her cheeks she fell to the ground her heart was in so much pain "why?" she asked to no one "why her?" she asked again she knew life could be cruel she had lived a life full of hurt and pain and regret but this was the biggest regret of her life, not making up with her mother. Emma got up slowly the pain easing in her leg as she walked towards the hospital and sat on a bench outside the front entrance it was dark out now as she sat there thinking over her life and her loss she heard the clicking if heels she didn't need to look up to know who it was "Emma?" she heard as the Mayor came to sit beside her not too close but she was there "Emma honey I'm so sorry, I don't even know how you must be feeling right now" she did kind of know with losing her parents so early in her life but for Emma, it was different she was on bad terms with her mother and that must be heartbreaking even more than to lose a parent.... "It should of been me" Emma said in almost a whisper Regina looked at her and waited for Emma to continue "I was the one that brought that crazy bitch into our lives if I had stayed home and not gone out of didn't lead her on after meeting her" Emma shook her head "I should of listened to you when you told me she was bad news, but no I had to be stupid and stubborn and try to make you jealous, I shouldn't of came back" years of hurt and pain caused Emma's tears to start again streaming down her face then she felt two hands cupping her face "Emma this is not your fault, it's Lilly's you didn't do any of this it was all her she wouldn't leave you alone she is crazy and will go away for a long long time I will make sure of it, but no Emma you can't blame yourself" Emma pulled Regina's hands away and stood up "It Is My Fault" she screamed at the Mayor "I should of stayed gone I wouldn't have to be here and my mom wouldn't be dead she was young she had so much more to live for, I will never forgive myself for this" she seethed but Regina stood and held her as she broke down again "Emma love please don't do this to yourself, Mary wouldn't want you to blame yourself please" she kept hold of Emma "I want her back Gina, she's my mom" Emma sobbed but held onto Regina as tight as she could they stood there for so long they didn't know what time it was then Emma spoke so softly "I need to see her" she looked up at Regina "Ok love we can go see her I will be with you every step of the way, I am here for you, I will always be here for you" she kissed Emma's head, Emma sniffled and looked into Reginas eyes and knew what she wanted, she always knew with everything good in her life and bad, she knew one thing and that was that Regina was her love of her life and she never wanted another day to go by where she didn't have Regina in her arms and she knew her mother would definitely approve "Marry Me?"...................
