Finally, I'm back in my condo. I already bought food for dinner and I also bought some for him since maybe he’ll wake up and get hungry. As I have said, I am not that evil.
I started treating his wound first before eating. I disinfected it and put a bandage cleanly around his forehead. I know how to treat wounds a little because I was into street racing in the past and a night won’t finished without me getting injured. Even just a scratch.
While I was doing that, I noticed that he has more small wounds on his arms and chest. I admit that he has a well-built body. He looks like my age too and his hair color is quite unique. It has different shades of green and a touch of brown and black. It’s actually a great combination. It fits his pale complexion really well.
But where did he get all these wounds? Are these from the fall?
That shouldn't be the question I'm asking right now, should I? Who is he and what is he should be the first questions I should ask. However, those questions will remain unanswered until he wakes up. I just hope he'll wake up soon.
I also just realized that there are bloodstains on my bed. It's from his clothes that are soaked with his own blood. I have no other choice but to call for a home service to clean up this mess. I’m too tired to do it myself.
After I treated his wound, I called the home service immediately and asked for a new bed sheet. It didn’t take them long to arrive and they started cleaning the bed. They were also the ones who lifted the guy up and positioned him on the couch inside my room temporarily.
I let them have their way so I walked towards the kitchen to get my dinner. I decided to eat in the living room while watching T.V. The moment I turned it on, the news program flashed on the screen.
"A huge, unidentified, fiery meteor-like object was seen earlier around seven in the evening that caused momentary panic for all citizens who witnessed the strange phenomenon."
My forehead immediately creased when I heard the news. I glanced at the direction of the guy who is already lying on my bed again, thinking that he has something to do with this strange phenomenon. I have a feeling that he's somehow connected to it.
"The said meteor was seen to be falling at an alarmingly fast rate, only for it to explode into smaller particles and then vanished without a trace just before it reached the earth's atmosphere. A "firework" meteor dubbed by the netizens. A NASA meteorologist, stated that even they are alarmed due to this unknown meteor that passed their surveillance devices at NASA headquarters undetected. NASA is now doing their research on where this unknown meteor-like was from and why did it surprisingly vanished."
There's a blurry footage being shown in the screen about the fiery meteor-like object they were referring to. It really was huge and was falling too fast. Before it can fall any closer, the object exploded like a big firework.
It looks astonishing the way it covered a large portion of the sky. How on earth did I miss that view earlier? I mean, why didn't I see that if it was that big and alarming?
"Ma'am, we're done cleaning.”
I jumped on my seat when I heard the cleaners’ voice from behind. I looked at them irritably. I gave them a tip for their service before they left.
I went inside my room to check up on the guy again. He's still peacefully sleeping. I was right that he wouldn't wake up any moment so I decided to also sleep since I still have class tomorrow. Since he’s lying on the bed, I have no choice but to take the couch.
It’s funny how I’m the one adjusting when this is my home.
I was about to close my eyes to slip when I heard muffled sounds coming from him. He’s murmuring painfully somehow.
"Hmm..."
I abruptly got off the couch and hurriedly went beside the bed where he’s lying.
I think he is really dreaming. He’s head kept on turning side by side and there are beads of sweat dripping on his forehead. I think he’ll wake up any time soon.
I sat down on the bed and just stared at him. After a few moments, I saw how he slowly opened his eyes. He was having a hard time because he kept on blinking. Maybe his eyelids felt heavy and his vision is still blurry, he can't make out what's in front of him.
Eventually, his eyes glanced at my direction, noticing my presence.
"Good thing you finally woke up," I said using my cold voice.
He didn't answer but instead, he looked at his surroundings, at my room to be specific. And then his eyes landed on me again. I tried to contain my laugh when I saw the intense confused look on his face. I should be serious right now so he would also take me seriously when I ask questions.
"W-Where am I?" He asked with a hoarse voice.
I didn’t answer him, instead, I went out of my room to get a glass of water for his throat because he’s having a hard time to talk. His lips are dry too and he's obviously dehydrated.
When I came back, I helped him to sit up and handed him the glass filled with lukewarm water. He didn’t ask any more questions, he took the glass immediately and drank the water straight. I was just sitting on the side of the bed, staring at him.
He gave me back the empty glass and then once again, our eyes met. I felt the awkwardness between us.
"So... are you feeling better? How’s your wound? Does your head hurt?”
He shook his head. Instead of answering my questions, he asked me back, "Where am I?"
"You're at my place, in my room to be exact. I brought you here when you passed out cold on the street.”
He seems to remember because there’s a look of realization dawning on his face.
"You know, I have a lot of unanswered questions in my head and I hope you'll answer everything."
I looked at him blankly, trying to show him that I’m serious and I don’t have a lot of patience. But instead of taking mess seriously, he suddenly laughed.
His eyes twinkle when he laughs. Why am I drawn into his eyes? My forehead creased because of what he did.
"What the hell is funny?" I asked coldly to make him stop and he did. But he flashed me a smirk before talking.
"You look cute when you’re confused."
I'm literally going crazy with all these questions running inside my head and he would just say that I'm cute?! Do I fucking look like I’m fooling around?!
“I know how to punch,” I warned but I don’t think it has an effect on him because the smirk is still plastered on his face.
"Look, first of all, what's your name? I still don’t know your name even though you know mine.”
"Vylant. Vylant Augen. It’s nice to finally meet you, Heavenly Salazar."
