Chapter 8

We turned and saw a slightly aged man with a white beard and blue eyes. He was wearing a Greek warrior's uniform and at his side a sword.

"Father, I didn't know, he just arrived a few moments ago," my mother explained.

"Ares, son, I see that you returned home," said that man who was looking at me with a serious face.

"I came to make a little visit," I said in the same tone of voice.

"So you won't stay?" Asked my mother."I'm sorry mom, but I have a mission to accomplish on earth" I said putting a hand on her shoulder "and speaking of that, Yusu and I should go now" I said looking at the little sheep, he nods.

-It is OK son. Come, I'll accompany you to the portal that we have near here-my grandfather told me. I said goodbye to my mother and went with my grandfather to a huge room in a temple.

"I hope one day I can train with you, boy," my grandfather told me."I also hope the same, grandfather," I said in front of the portal. Yusu was the first to go through it and once I said goodbye to my grandfather, I went through the portal.When we returned to the forest where we were, I couldn't help but feel that Melisa was in danger again. In my mind I saw how the guy she had set free earlier that night had escaped and was now chasing her down an alley.

"What's wrong?" Yusu asked when he saw my annoyed face.

"It's Melisa, that guy is harassing her again," I said with a serious face.

-And what the hell are you waiting for? Transform yourself and see him help him -he told me. My eyes turned red. I ran at full speed until I reached Mexico. I ran through the small town, until I reached the place where that man had her cornered. It was raining very heavily.

-LET IT-I yelled furious, both individuals turned to see me.

"Get off you brat, if you don't want me to shoot you in the head," the guy threatened.

"Ares," Melisa said in a surprised whisper.

"I said let her go," I said as I approached them. The subject released Melisa abruptly, until she fell to the cold and wet floor full of mud.

-You asked for it boy-the subject pointed the gun at me and shot me. I felt that the 3 bullets that he fired reached my chest making me fall to the ground on my back.

"Ares, no" I heard Melisa yell."That idiot didn't gain anything by being the hero," that guy scoffed. That filled me with courage, my eyes turned red again, I stopped with a jump, surprising that guy and the girl who was hiding behind a garbage can. I approached him with a threatening countenance.

"Why don't you die?" He asked as he kept shooting at me. I felt that my body began to change revealing that demon that controlled me long ago. That guy looked at me in terror.

"I told you to get away from her," I said with a very deep and severe voice.

"What the hell are you?" The man asked with fear in his voice.

"You said it yourself ..." I said making my weapon appear "... I'm a demon," I said with annoyance. In one swift movement I hit him on the head with the tip of my weapon, knocking him unconscious.

-Ares ...- I heard Melisa to one side. When I saw her, my eyes returned to their natural blue color from before. My body returned to normal. By the time I realized it, I was already lying on the ground, ready to pass out. I saw Melisa approach me and pulled out a cell phone. At that moment I passed out.

When I woke up, I was on a couch in a living room. I tried to get up, but my whole body ached.

"I see you woke up," Ryan told me, appearing with his arms crossed.

"Ryan, don't bother him," said Melisa, looking like she had a first aid kit. I was shirtless and she began to remove the bullets from my chest.

"Hey, don't go overboard with my sister, demon," he told me, I looked at him surprised.

"I told him that you saved me in the alley," she replied.

"We have a lot of questions to ask you and you'd better answer all of them," Ryan told me.

"Ryan," Melisa scolded him.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," I told them.

-With everything I saw on television and what my sister told me is enough evidence to believe you. So start-Ryan told me as he sat down on the other armchair in the living room.
