The First Tango

Audriana went out of her office and walked in the direction of Sofia's office, she knocked on the door but got no response. She reached for the doorknob and turned it but it was locked.

'She might be in class' she thought and turned to her right to get to the main gate of the school, so she can take a taxi to her destination.

When she was outside, she flagged down a taxi, told him the address, and got in. As the taxi moved, she took out her phone to tell Sofia about her whereabouts so she doesn't start calling.

- A: Hey girly, I am off to Bernard Tech, need to sort out something, will let you know when I am done ;)

She put her phone back in her purse and looked out the window, as she watches people walking on the street, some were crossing the road, some waiting for the bus, and others watching the street entertainment by a group of two guys and a girl.

The girl who has her hair colored in different colors was singing, the blonde guy with a bandana wrapped around his wrist was playing the guitar and the other guy played the flute.

A smile graced her lips as she enjoyed the view. The taxi passed a coffee shop and she suddenly craved it, so she told the taxi to stop, paid him her fare, and got down.

Because the taxi had passed the shop, she had to make a turn to get there, so while she was walking, she felt her phone vibrate in her bag and opened her bag to check who was calling.

She didn’t look at where she was going and just as she brought out her phone she bumped into a wall and stumbled a little and was about to fall back when strong arms wrapped themselves around her waist.

‘Walls have hands now?’ she asked herself and looked up to see that she didn’t bump into a wall rather it was a very handsome man she bumped into.

Beautiful light hazel eyes stared at her. The man had a pointed nose with a well-sculptured jawline, perfect pink lips, and clear skin. His dark hair looks like hands had run through them many times. He was the definition of gorgeous.

Those hazel eyes stared at her for a few more seconds before lifting her up and releasing her.

He rolled his eyes as he spoke deeply “The least you could do is watch where you are going,” with that said, he walked away from her to the other side of the road.

She stood still watching the fine piece of a man walking further till he turned a corner. He seems a little rude to have made that statement, he was at fault too and if he watched where he was going, they won’t have bumped into each other. It takes two to tango.

Shaking her head, she shrugged, picked up her phone, and continued to the coffee shop then she remembered that she was going to answer a call before bumping into that man and decided to check who the last caller was. It was Sofia, so she called her back as she entered the shop.

A waitress came to take her order and she ordered a slice of cake and cappuccino.

Sofia answered when the waitress went to get her order.

"Hey baby girl" Sofia chirped.

"Hey love, I sent you a message since I didn't see you in your office before leaving, did you see it?" Audriana asked.

"Yeah, that's why I am calling, I had an early day also, so after I was done with my last class for the day I went to meet up with my very annoying cousin," she said.

"Caleb?" Audriana asked with a laugh.

Soon her cake and coffee came and she thanked the waitress who left with a smile. She took a sip from the coffee and sigh with satisfaction.

"Not Caleb, at least he is the normal one… I am not sure you know this one, he is Miguel and pretty annoying” she said "Stop it, I take it back, very annoying" Audriana could hear Sofia say to someone.

"¿A quién llamas molesta?" she heard a deep playful voice say to her friend.

Audriana understands Spanish because her Spanish friend, Sofia taught her when their friendship was already a year. Sofia said she had to pass on her knowledge… legacy and her major reason was that it would be embarrassing if Audriana didn’t know her language after being friends for that long.

Audriana shook her head at the memory.

"Miguel? I don't know any cousin you have that is named Miguel" she tells her friend as she was almost done with her desserts.

"Yeah, I never mentioned him to you and don't plan to introduce him to you" she could hear the annoyance in Sofia's voice as she said it.

"¿Con quién estás hablando?" he asked in the background.

"¿Puedes al menos callarte y dejar de interferir en mi conversación?" she heard Sofia answer Miguel.

Audriana laughed and finished up her desserts and coffee.

"Well, whatever I will be leaving now, I got to catch up before the close of the day. Got some work to do there today" she told her friend.

"Wait, you are not even there?" she asked

“No, I’m not. Had this craving for coffee so I dropped off at a coffee shop to get some cake and coffee” she answered and put the bills and some tips on the table before getting up and carrying her bag as she walked out of the door.

Sofia sighed. “Okay, I will see you later for our little date my friend”

“Okay no problem”

“¿fecha? Who would want to date you?” Miguel asked in the background.

"Sí, fecha, normal men who treat women right" Sofia replied making Audriana laugh.

"Your cousin is something else" she commented

"You never imagine, see you later sweetheart"

"See you too" Audriana disconnected the call and stopped a taxi to go to Bernard Tech.
