They arrived at The Spirit Break a few minutes later. The lack of decorations made it look fancier than it really was. In the reception, there were a few ladies just walking around. Half their face was that of a woman, they had fair skin and light blue eyes. The other side was metal. They were filled with intricate designs that blinked intermittently, imitating a heartbeat.
"What are thoseee?" -said Holden.
"We call them semi-humans. They are mostly made out of our magic combined with other types of magic such as metal, creation, and electrical." -answered Ava. As the local princess, she was the expert.
'Wait how come Holden didn't know about these androids? How long ago did he visit this city?'
Everyone was thinking the same. Holden had shown time and time again that he knew a lot about the world. It was hard finding something he didn't know about. Ryker then started wondering just how old Holden actually was.
After a few minutes, three rooms were rented. One for the triplets, one for Holden, and one for Ryker. They then walked towards the light lines that would transport them to their respective floors. Because it was a popular hotel they ended up on different floors. Ryker was on the twentieth floor.
The hallway was a dazzling white, almost like a laboratory. There were these circles on the walls with numbers on them. He walked up to the palm-sized circle that had the number #2036 and pulled out the small crystal they had given him at reception. He put it in front of the circle and in an instant, it glowed white, and then a part of the wall slid off revealing a very simple room.
The first thing that caught his eye was the window at the other end of the room, it was a one-way window. He could see other skyscrapers and smaller buildings all around the city. He could also vaguely see the white line surrounding the city. He then saw the bed, which was a simple queen-sized bed with white sheets. The floor was covered in a type of fur with small black speckles. There was also an opening on one of the walls that had the bathroom. It was a simple shower with a crystal door and a toilet.
His train of thought was interrupted by the familiar sound of a system notification.

'Damn. I feel so overpowered right now but I know that compared to them, I am still nothing. I might have great stats but I am still using Tier 0 spells. AND I ONLY HAVE THREE FOR GOD SAKES'
After a few hours of whining and feeling bad for himself, he decided to check out the item he had just acquired.
[Shadow ring -melt into the shadows and become intangible for one minute. Cooldown: 24h]
'So I got a life-saving item. Well, that is not too bad. I might as well use it all the time. Now I have to make sure I spend my status points on the right stuff. I am finally at peace again and I need to go back to the dream realm to find Golak and the mysterious chef who promised me to get stronger.'
By sundown, Ryker had finished using his status points, again. He decided to go and walk around the city at night. It had been almost three weeks since he came to the game and he missed going out to party and get drunk. As he was finally in a city, it would be safe to go out and the nightlife must be incredible. Oh, how wrong he was.
He put on the white clothes he had to wear in the city and walked out of his room. When he arrived at the reception, the first thing he realized was that all of the semi-humans who were here earlier had disappeared without a trace. He paid it no mind and assumed they were just recharging or something similar.
When he walked out of the hotel, the cold hit him hard in the face. It was a lonely night, the roads were devoid of people, the lights were on but not a soul could be seen wandering the streets. His instincts were screaming to him that something was not right here. He turned around to look at the hotel door and stood deciding what to do.
He took a deep breath and turned around, walking into the night. He clutched his shadow ring hard and prepared to activate it at any time. He was convincing himself that there was no imminent danger because Ava said it was a safe city. He followed the street lights and soon reached a dark alley. There were some stairs heading downwards. Even with his increased perception, he could not peak behind the darkness. So he did the only logical thing. He went down the stairs
