Stopover in the City of Lo’Teakon

~Chapter 44~

By the time Baas and Mae returned to their room they were exhausted and wasted no time climbing into bed, with Hidai and Varmutt resting comfortably on the floor.

When morning came, Mae went to the caridon tower and bought their tickets to the city of Tharand, and waited for Baas to arrive with whatever they were to be transporting this time. He arrived about twenty minutes later, with no cargo in sight.

"Did something go wrong?"

"Nope, everything is good. Cargo is in my saddle bag," he replied as he pat Varmutt's side and then dismissed him. "And now, it's safely stored away. Did you get the tickets?"

"Yeah, and if we leave now, we won't have to spend the night in Indol'zaph if we don't want to."

"Oh, we are going to want to stay. Tharand is not a city you want to land in late at night. We should still leave now though; no point in waiting around," he remarked and headed to the tower gate.

Mae was more than happy to get underway and hurried behind him.
