Chest of the Past

~Chapter 94~

The conversation had continued late into the night, and come morning, Mae found herself on one of Ven's couches, covered in a heavy fur blanket, and pulled back tight to Kyurn's chest; the warmth of his breath caressing the top of her head faintly shifting her hair. The sunlight that came through the window told her only that it was still morning. The dewy scent in the air revealing it to still be early.

She was comfortable, relaxed, and warm, the blanket being a floral-patterned fabric with a fur backing of long, spirals of ice blue locks; sambel. Identical to Praja's except lifeless and not as soft. She couldn't recall when she'd fallen asleep the night before and couldn't fathom why Kyurn had felt the need to sleep next to her, when two stories up, was a perfectly good room, with a perfectly comfortable bed, that he used every time, when he came to stay. Even if he'd felt the need to take her with, it would have given each twice the amount of space.
