Unable to Panic

~Chapter 151~

Mae was quick to drape a warm cloak over Xial's naked body as he laid crumple on the floor of his den, struggling to move. Concentrating his body into his smaller form would allow him to conserve more energy, but it did nothing to fix the physical state he was in. His body, having begun to cannibalize its own muscle tissue, had left him starving and thirsty, and the aura of the ji'vie wasn't making things easier either as he began to tremble beneath the weight of their combine aura.

"Hand me the water," Mae asked Kina as Nimaro and Pyde eased back, staying close enough to intervene while giving Xial the room he needed to adjust to the situation.

Handing the canteen to Mae, Kina helped Xial into a sitting position, before he also backed away.

"We should have brought Baas after all. I didn't think he would be in such dreadful a state," Kina remarked as Mae helped Xial take a drink.
