A warm breeze swept over the platform, tussling the wayward strands of Mae's hair as she stared down the Thay, she believed to be Baas' father, Jao'faryn, standing near the edge of the patio. Even from her perspective, he seemed a man of some stature; similar in height to Baas, but lankier. What muscles he once had upon his substantial frame, had dwindled. His physique now more scholar than warrior. Beneath the failing light, his hair and feathers were black as the night sky. His brows had the same arch and length, his ears the same slight outward curve at the tip, and his nose was just as straight and narrow. There was a sharpness to his features, even with the extra years that had left behind added wrinkles and a growing gut, that he attempted to hide beneath a robe two sizes too large.
