Elahemé (Mae) loved the life she shared with her husband, Jack and their dog, Koobs. "Jasper can help me in the kitchen while you speak with Fon," Nimaro told Mae when they reached the back patio of her house. "We'll have dinner waiting for you when you get back."

Mae straightened up, turning upon her heel to look at him. "Now that, is the best idea I've heard all day. And considering how nice it is out here," she said, directing her attention to Jasper, "when you're finished helping Nimaro, you can clean up this patio so we can eat out here tonight."

"Is it okay if I ask Grandpa to build a fire too?" Jasper asked, a hopeful smile playing on his lips as he stood back and rested his knuckles against his chest.

"I think that's a great idea. And if you check in the cellar, I'm pretty sure there's still a package of grandma's Hlalaif next to the bottles of Nuegrum. Go grab it and set it out on the counter to warm up, and after you're done with the fire, he can show you how to cut and skewer it, so we can roast it for dessert."
