That Awkward Feeling

The joining ceremony for partners was nothing like the one for pair-bonding. It lacked the pomp and grandeur associated with the typical pair-bonding ceremony, which were comparable to the average, western style weddings of Earth. Joining ceremonies were understated, intimate, and rarely included anyone beyond immediate family, although sometimes even they were known to be excluded.
