Chapter 12: Dual Attributes

Feng Ming Xiu looked at the man up and down. He was wearing a black robe with patterns, and his black hair was held up by a metal crown.

The man laughed. "Please don't look at me like that. You'll make me think I'm a bad guy."

Feng Ming Xiu was still suspicious and didn't say anything.

Feng Ming Xiu suddenly felt as if she couldn't move her body. She couldn't even talk, much less scream. The man then started walking towards her.

The man put his finger on Feng Ming Xiu's forehead and closed his eyes. He opened his eyes three minutes later and smiled. "A five elemental body and dual attributes...you have an up-and-coming future little girl."

Feng Ming Xiu felt that she could move her body again. She looked at the man and asked, "What do you mean by I have a Five elemental body and dual attributes?"

The man ran his hands through his beard. "I meant it just as I said it."

"I already know what a Five elemental body is. I just want to know what you meant by dual attributes."

"Hmm...this continent doesn't know about dual attributes, so I guess you won't know about it." The man muttered this and looked down. "...Okay, I'll tell you what dual attributes are."

"Ahem. There are two attributes namely: Light Attribute and Dark Attribute, and no one can possess both at the same time; if someone is born with both of these attributes, they can only live for a certain amount of time, about 12 to 14 years."

"These attributes grow over time and if you're a cultivator, you can cultivate to a higher cultivation rank than that of the two attributes so that your body can be stable. But if you don't cultivate, they will become unbalanced, and therefore the two attributes will fight to stay in the body, and when this happens, the body will explode due to the fighting attributes in the body."

"When they're calm, you can think of them like two seas of water with a different amount of density and salt. They won't cross each other no matter what. But when they're at war with each other, you can think of them as tea and sugar; if the sugar was made ten years ago, it would be hard and won't dissolve in the tea."

'What a weird comparison.' Feng Ming Xiu thought,

"The only person who has been known to hold these two attributes with ease is the Demon Empress."

Feng Ming Xiu's body flinched when she heard this. 'I might die because of these forces?'

"So these attributes have ranks? How do I know if I have cultivated enough to stabilize the two attributes in my body? And how do I use my other attribute?"

"Haha, you're asking a lot of questions little girl, but I will answer all of them."

"Attributes do not have ranks. You can't see your attributes using your divine sense, so when you reach a rank that is suitable enough, you will feel a refreshing feeling in your meridians. And to use your other attribute, I'll tell you about it in a moment."

The man smiled. "So, do you have any other questions?"

"No." Feng Ming Xiu shook her head.

"Okay." Seeing Feng Ming Xiu deep in thought, the man sighed.

"You really don't have to worry for now. Your dark attribute is sealed. But that seal is breaking, and you weren't able to cultivate during that time. Then you were suddenly able to cultivate. But you can only use your Light attribute. This shows that there are two separate seals on both of your attributes; if your attributes were sealed with one seal, you would be able to use both attributes at the same time when your seal is broken."

"How old are you?"

"I'm fifteen."

"Fifteen...I see now."

"Is something wrong?"

"By the age of your seals, they were probably cast on your attributes since birth. If it were cast since birth, you must have had a tremendous amount of attribute energy that was most likely out of control since it was cast since you were born. If this seal wasn't cast on your attributes, you would have died after a few days of birth."

Feng Ming Xiu was shocked. "I would have...died?"

The man nodded. "Yes."

'I would have died? Did mother and father know about this and cast this seal on my attributes?' Feng Ming Xiu trembled at the thought that she would have died if the seal wasn't cast on her attributes.

"Well, I can't show you how to change to your other attribute because I don't have another attribute, and I was never told how to. But I assume you would find out when your seal is broken."

"When will the seal be broken?"
