The moon in the preparation room…
"These!", Quirrel squatted down and threw its arms up to indicate the rotating figure in the central area above everyone, "is an original, some of you may have firsthand experience with them considering they were dropped in as our antagonists at the end of our very own producers speech! The coloured body glove is a dead give away even for those that have more subtle enhancements, though not stylish they do have a use that I'm sure some of you will figure out at some point.", the last was stated with an overly conspiratorial slow wink, giving all of those in the crowd a creeping trepidation.
At that last statement Seb tried to see if there was anything special he could see about this strange attire, but to him it just seemed like it was a skin tight rubber gimp suit that was missing patches at different places around the body both lower and upper leaving just bare skin exposed? Sadly he wasn't able to figure anything out by just staring at the rotating hollo much as he tried, but he did file that question away till a later time when he could try to solve that little mystery. Focusing back on his alien abductor he tried to pay as much attention as he could to try and glean every scrap of information he could get that might help him make it out of this with all of his remaining pieces intact.
"While these originals are fully capable of infecting another biological host, they can't actually become a queen themselves, this is done with a little genetic tweaking on our part, we have also installed synthetic behavioral chips into both the host and the parasite to better engineer a more well rounded viewing experience with as much natural tendencies as possible.", while giving this explanation Quirrel had floated up beside the hollos giant head and proceeded to insert both hands into a temple and gesture as if it was making some kind of adjustments to the hologram.
Pulling its hands back into view with a self satisfied look pretended to clean them off and continue with its explanation, all the while turning with the hollo and running a hand down its cheek admiringly before whirling back to the crowd and flipping upside down jarring some who couldn't rationalize this new perspective even after the past few minutes of madness.
"While they originally did go on large sprees of infection to better spread out colonies, they now primarily act in their intended roles as antagonists! As such you will encounter them either roaming throughout the game area, holed up in a specific location that they will defend aggressively or some may even try and hunt some of you down after a certain period of time!", the roof immediately lit up like a map of the city but with the addition of multiple red dots spread out pretty much equidistant from each other, "Some may be easier to overcome than others depending on their specific upgrades so I look forward to your encounters with them.", the smile Quirrel had along with the sinister glint in its eyes as it looked down with the back drop of what seemed to be Calgary and just how many crazy super powered dangers lurked everywhere really brought home how much danger everyone was about to be dropped into.
Off from Seb's left in the crowd a male voice rose up in question with a shaky voice, "Those… those originals…are… are they the people that have gone missing over the past months?".
"Oh how very astute of you,", Quirrel praised the questioner while clapping its hands slowly and very condescendingly, "yes these are the subjects of our testing how compatible the human bio-form is to certain modifications and enhancements, once a test subject had completed various trials they were infected with the parasite via an injection into the base of the skull to preserve their neural pathways.".
As Quirrel was describing what happened to the people who had gone missing the person who had asked the question, a man Seb could now see through the crowd from his seated position, lowerd his head into his hands and began to cry in very obvious and painful grief. It wasn't hard for Seb to piece together that the reason the man had asked the question was that someone close to him had obviously gone missing, and honestly from the information Quirrel had just given all of them Seb could wholly understand that man's anguish…to get experimented on and then go through the parasite infection process? The thought was monstrous and it gave him chills to even imagine what those people had to endure.
As Seb watched on the man's sorrow seemed to grow into anger as he balled his fists and lifted his face towards Quirrel to shout out at the flamboyant alien vehemently, "WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THESE HORRIBLE THINGS? YOU TOOK MY WIFE AND LITTLE BOY! YOU F*CKING MONSTERS! YOU TOOK THEM SO YOU COULD MUTILATE THEM AND THEN YOU PUT THOSE F*CKING BUGS IN THEIR BRAINS SO YOU COULD TAKE F*CKING VIDEOS TO SHOW US? WHY WOU-".
Quirrel had let the man yell on for a bit, but seemed to tire of this mild distraction preventing it from continuing its informational introduction and so with another snapping of its fingers the irate man was engulfed in electricity cutting him short briefly before he collapsed unconscious. Quirrel seemed to have the power to moderate or control it to some extent as the man didn't shout out in pain or convulse, he just stopped and fell mid tirade close to what happened to the woman earlier except with a little more juice in it this time.
"Why would we do this?", Quirrel had a puzzled expression in its eyes as it addressed the unconscious man, "The reason we did this is that it's standard procedure to follow these steps when integrating a new sentient species into our empire and thus into THE SHOW, we needed raw data over a wide range of races, ages, and sexes for as comprehensive a data base as possible. We couldn't start the show not knowing what would happen to all of you if you were to undergo any of these upgrades and changes, It's all for THE SHOW of course.", Quirrel actually seemed a little flustered by the question, as if everything happening up until now was just the natural course that should have happened and by questioning it you were questioning Quirrel's very being.
Seb was a little more worried not about anything that had happened to the abducted people, but by what Quirrel had said near the end of its explanation, it had stated, "What would happen to any of you were you to undergo any of these upgrades and changes.", Seb was more than a little unsettled that there was a possibility that he might have some horrible experiments forced upon him in the future. Ending up as a slab of meat on some mad alien scientists table sounded horrifying enough to make him shiver as he stared down at his empty pudding resting on his pipe wrench table across his legs.
"This just keeps getting crazier and f*cking crazier.", seb groaned as he reached into his lunch bag and picked up one of his wraps from their container.
