Long before the contemporary times, in the olden days of Africa, every male child born at dusk were used for sacrifice to appeal the witches. Although this act met resistance from the villagers who begged and sought-after salvation from the oppressive tradition of child sacrifice, nonetheless, the practise continued for centuries upon centuries until one very day, when King Oranmiyan, who was unable to produce a male offspring, became fortunate to bear his very first and last Prince. Even though the prince was born at dusk, everything changed when he failed to offer his son's life as a sacrifice as the culture had demanded. The witches grew angry and chaos began.

Only because of the words of Oranmiyan to Balogun had the rest of the Chiefs and the Elders could not sucessfully hide their mockery as a few of them slightly widened their cheeks for a smile while the rest boldly expanded in a loud sneer.

The words of one of the Elders to him as they slowly walked past him while he remained quiet and his eyes had daggers in them were that he must first acquire the skill of knowing the right time to speak and how to smile because it is only with this can he be able to live even long as the Elders..

But if he is so confident of himself should he come at him when Oranmiyan shall not be there if he shall remain alive to witness his own death as he would bashed his head on the ground and feed his eyes to the birds of the sky were the thought of Balogun as looked more at the Elder with contempt.
