Long before the contemporary times, in the olden days of Africa, every male child born at dusk were used for sacrifice to appeal the witches. Although this act met resistance from the villagers who begged and sought-after salvation from the oppressive tradition of child sacrifice, nonetheless, the practise continued for centuries upon centuries until one very day, when King Oranmiyan, who was unable to produce a male offspring, became fortunate to bear his very first and last Prince. Even though the prince was born at dusk, everything changed when he failed to offer his son's life as a sacrifice as the culture had demanded. The witches grew angry and chaos began.

The Sorcerer's King: ways of the witches

The words that Baki thus spoke unto Oranmiyan that he had been the prince he bored and saved from the witches who sought after his life at first had not appealed to him but immediately that it did had he been surprised and looked at him very again.

If he wanted to run at him and hold his hand and kiss his forehead and behold his face closely as father to son, it was true but even so can he not do any of this for he knew even him, who stood yet before him, and dressed like a deity, had been with powers he cannot imagine.

But Oranmiyan shall be with courage and not be afraid. For he is still yet a boy who had not seen so many full moons or so many winds. Only in the will of the supreme God he had been given a stature bigger than everyone.
