Vampire's Curse

Now in E-Rantel...

Filius/ Killstag and Naberal/ Nabe, had just returned to the city of E-Rantel, they used the Gate spell and teleported to an alley near the INN they were using.

They walked out of the alley, before they left to the INN, Killstag extended his hand to Nabe, Nabe looked at the gesture and her face turned slightly pink. She took his hand and once their hands connected, they both locked their fingers into each other.

After walking a block, they made it to the INN, once they entered the place they walked up to the room they rented. They didn't need to notify the staff since they were already well known as high-level adventures. After their first mission, they quickly changed their base, since they had a higher rank as adventurers. They changed from that old pub INN to this finer one. The team was called for a Mythril level quest, their objective was to investigate the arrival and attack of a vampire, but that's all that Killstag and Nabe knew. Their leader Momon, had entered the meeting room by himself and he would have the details.

When they entered the room Killstang and Nabe stood there in front of their lord and master.

"I presume everything went well?", Filius asked.

"Yes it did, I managed to get the quest, but there is a slight problem", Momon said.

"And that would be?", Filius asked.

"There is another adventurer group joining us", he said, Filius was stunned, why were they forced to join this group.

After noticing the confusion in Filius's actions, Ainz decided to explain. He had told them that he was confronted by one of the adventuring teams leaders that disliked him. He didn't care about it though, that was until the man ordered that he and his team had to join in the exploration with Darkness.

Filius already understood what type of person that man was, he must be jealous and mad that a new team from out of nowhere had surpassed them in one go. That just meant that this leader was incompetent and that they would be eliminated.

"What annoying ants, they should be stepped on like the insects they are", Nabe snarled.

"Come Nabe, remember these humans don't know who Momon really is. They don't know that they are actually in the presence of the supreme being so it's obvious they would get mad if it was just a normal adventurer", stated Filius.

"When you put it that way, then these humans are truly pitiful for not being able to know the presence of an all-mighty being like Lord Ainz, but I still think they are insects that should grovel for Ainz's mercy", Nabe stated her opinion.

Ainz was stunned, he never heard Nabe's opinion before, was this due to Filius? Ainz then looked at their hands, since the moment they entered they had them connected, he finally got it. Nabe was opening up a little, this made him proud of his son, he was able to spark new change in The Great Tomb of Nazarick. This solved one of his theories that he made up the night before, if NPC's could grow like actual living beings, then that meant they could get better and become stronger and smarter. Though he wanted to do more experiments before he could form a conclusion.

"Yes, we shouldn't get mad or annoyed that they act stubborn in these situations. But this doesn't mean we will allow them to trample over my home or my children", Ainz was specifically talking about the warriors from the Slane Theocracy that brainwashed Shalltear.

Yes, thanks to Filius's idea of the backup team for NPC's that left on missions, they had managed to trail the warriors that attacked Shalltear to the nation they came from. It was shocking to Ainz that a small idea like that managed to find the roots of a bigger problem that was yet to come. From what they knew so far was that the Theocracy was the strongest out of all the nations and that it hated the undead and demihumans, they were a nation consisting of human supremacists. What Ainz wanted to do before he attacked them was that he wanted to strengthen the power of Nazarick. He wanted to control many nations and then wipe the Theocracy, obviously, he would change the ideals of the common people but he wanted the big shots gone, especially since they had powerful brain control magic.

"It's okay Father, we know who they are and they know who you are as well. They will think twice before messing with you or Nazarick, if they do, then we will annihilate them", Filius said in a dark tone.

Ainz nodded, "Now let's return to the topic, I have already notified Albedo and we will ambush the adventurers. From there we will leave some of their broken equipment and take their cadavers back home."

"OK, their bodies will be useful for Nazarick a bit", Filius agreed. "When will we go?", Filius asked his father

"Now", Ainz said as he manifested his helmet onto his head.

They all nodded and headed out, after they exited the INN they went to the meeting place. There they saw the group of adventurers that would come along. After they met up they did a light greeting and moved on, this made the tension in the air feel tense.

Then they set off, Momon was in the front, he was riding Hamusuke while Killstag and Nabe were behind him. Nabe was riding a type of item, it looked like an average horse but it was actually a doll. If the item was used it would grow and become a mechanical life-like horse. Both she and Killstag were using the same item.

Filius noticed that one of the members of the other team tried to make small conversation with Momon, but he failed.

One hour later they had finally arrived at the area where Shalltear was, though they made sure to not actually take them to her.

After walking a bit more team Darkness stopped in the road, the other adventurers were surprised.

Igvarge was confused, "Hey? What's the holdup? After he didn't get an answer he was starting to get a strange chill on his back.

"Hey! You!", yelled Igvarge once more.

Momon turned to face them, he was smiling but they didn't know that. "Don't you remember?", suddenly all the adventures except for Darkness felt a cold chill on their backs. Momon's voice was so ominous that the other adventurers thought they were talking to a demon. "I said coming here meant sudden death", Momon then nodded his head.

Suddenly Killstag unsheathed his sword and in a flash, he had cut two of the human's heads that were closest to him.

The rest of the adventurers (Igvarge included) were terrorized, once Albedo had stepped out from behind the trees, the horses that the adventurers were riding started shaking in fear. The horses dropped their riders and ran away. The rest of the adventurers quickly got on their feet and started scattering away.

Momon sighed thinking that these men would've had more backbone to actually face him.

Albedo had approached Ainz and spoke, "Lord Ainz, your orders?"

"Nabe, Mare, and Hamusuke find them and kill them. Once that's done, bring back the bodies and we'll cut off their extremities to bring to the adventurers guild along with some of their armor", Ainz said.

Filius who was currently inspecting his sword's condition nodded and swung it down splattering the blood off of it. He had ignored the cry of worry that the giant furball (Hamusuke) had of going to Nazarick "So what will we do father?", he asked.

"We will see Shalltear's condition, Albedo, follow us", Ainz said.

After they changed their equipment back to their normal legendary items they headed to Shalltear's exact position. Once they walked to her, Ainz made sure that they were far enough to activate a trap if there was any.

Ainz stepped forward one step, and tried calling for her, "Shalltear."

After a moment of no reaction Albedo became agitated and yelled, "Shalltear! Answer your master. You disrespectful little wen-", before she could finish she was cut off by Ainz.

"Be quiet!", Ainz was shocked, he still didn't know how this could be possible. If brainwashing magic could really be used against an NPC with anti-brain control magic or abilities then this was a major problem. Ainz was stuck, how could this be happening.

Ainz then lifted his right hand up, "We need to break this spell over Shalltear. Though, it's a shame to waste such a strong magical item on a counterspell." He had his index finger up and on that finger was a magical ring, it was silver and on the top, it had three gems that seemed like shooting stars.

"Though, it's a shame to waste such a strong magical item on a counterspell", Ainz said.

Albedo then noticed the new ring on her master's hand and decided to ask about it, "What is that?"

"I know about it. That's a super-rare magical item known as shooting star", Filius answered, "Three times a day it lets the wearer cast a spell Wish Upon a Star. It basically lets the caster use any magic that's in a super tier or below, also it cost some experience points."

Then Filius switched to a thinking position, Albedo noticed it and asked him about it, "Is something wrong young master?"

"There was something else about the ring, in Yggdrasil the when the item was used the spell would be a random one. So out of all the spells you needed, you had a very low chance of getting what you wanted. But since things have changed from before, I'm wondering if the effects of the ring are different. Father?", Filius asked.

Ainz realized what his son was asking, so he nodded, then he used a certain spell on the ring, "Appraisal."

[Incredible, this seems impossible. Did Filius know about this?], Ainz turned to them, "It seems my son's theory is true, this item's effects have indeed changed. Before the spell was chosen randomly, but now it seems that the ring has the power to grant any wish that the caster wants, so long as he has the XP."

"Incredible...", Filius whispered.

"Amazing, Young masters predictions are truly amazing", Albedo praised.

"Thank you, but this isn't something you should be praising me about, I believe father already knew about such things. Am I wrong?", Filius asked his father.

Ainz looked at him in nervousness and then turned to look at Albedo, she had such an expecting expression on her face.

Ainz coughed and nodded, Albedo shrieked in joy, "Our master is incredible, he is so wise. Also, the ring's power is incredible."

Ainz turned around to look back at Shalltear, [Anyways.] "Hey, albedo? You've never seen super tier magic, right?"

"No. I've only heard rumors of its existence. And that it's stronger than a tenth tier spell", Albedo answered.

Ainz eyes grew a red circle, he nodded, "Correct. Using it requires a certain skill set. One that I happen to possess." Ainz walked up to Shalltear, he made sure not to stand too close. "Magic points don't affect the spell at all. And there is a long casting time."

Ainz then raised his hand and pulled something out from his pocket dimension, "However, we don't have to worry about that. This ring cancels out the casting time. Plus, it activates the spell without using as many experience points. I should be able to release Shalltear in no time flat."

From under Ainz appeared a massive ring with another ring in the center and below him was a circle, these rings and circles all had magical characters that Yggdrasil magic used. The color of the circle was light blue, it seemed to be radiant as an angel, the rings weren't still, they rotated clockwise and counterclockwise.

Albedo was shocked, she didn't ever think that her master would go this far to help Shalltear, honestly, it made her feel uncomfortable. "But, Lord Ainz, Shalltear's a servant. It's unnecessary to use such an important item on her", Albedo suddenly started hugging herself and squirming, "Oh, your compassion knows no bounds."

Ainz continued to cast his spell, "Shooting Star! Now, ring, cure Shalltear of all her status effects. I command you!"

Suddenly the magical circle cracked and shattered as if it was glass, the magic was canceled. "What's this?", Ainz gasped as he looked at the destroyed circle.

Ainz then jolted up, he saw Shalltear and then at Albedo, "We're leaving! Albedo, Filius! Let's go!"

Both Albedo and Filius quickly approached him, Albedo was hugged by Ainz while Filius held his father's shoulder. Suddenly they all disappeared from that area and teleported somewhere else.

Albedo was blushing a bit as she realized that her beloved master was embracing her, but suddenly she was pulled off by Filius who had a shaken expression. Albedo then turned to see Ainz, who walked away a few steps.

"Dammit! Dammit!", suddenly the ground started shaking while at the same time in front of Ainz a dust cloud was launched. Ainz was furious, scared, and nervous at the same time, he was so full of emotions that he started kicking the ground which made the earth tremble.

Filius had quickly removed Albedo off of his father because of this problem, he had never witnessed his father enraged, and seeing it now, it terrified him. The man that could bring death and life to anyone, the man that had the power to control the forty-one supreme beings of creation, was enraged, this was a mortifying spectacle for Filius. Albedo was even more scared, Filius made sure to stand in front of her just in case his father would be so enraged that he would commit an accident.

"Dammit! Dammit!! Dammit!", Ainz yelled as he continued kicking the ground, the magic that was used to control his emotions was trying so hard to keep him calm, but it seemed useless. Then Ainz stopped and sighed, he had finally stopped but that didn't mean he wasn't furious.

Filius was nervous to speak to Ainz but he forced himself to speak hoping that he was calm, "Father? Are you okay?"

Ainz just stood still and relaxed, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted that way in front of you. To the both of you."

Albedo was the next to speak, "Did something go wrong with the spell, my lord?"

"The ring was definitely activated correctly. However the wish was not granted", Ainz stated.

This shocked both Filius and Albedo, [how could that be possible] Filius thought, [That's super tier magic it the most powerful form there is...unless]. Filius jolted up, "But that means that the magic used on Shalltear must be", before he could say the word his father answered.

"World level magic", Ainz said. "And I honestly never thought this world could contain such a power", Ainz said as he was looking at the floor in shock. He knew it was a possibility but the problem was that it was actually true. In Yggdrasil World level items were the strongest things there, guilds would go to war for one, the item had so much power that they could destroy an entire world alone or even create one.

"So sadly I was right", Filius said in shock, he never expected that his predictions were true, this world was connected to Yggdrasil so that meant that's its powerful items were connected too.

"Albedo", Ainz spoke to break the silence.

"Yes?", Albedo asked.

"The security level of Nazarick needs to be raised to maximum. Also, every Guardian needs to return home immediately", Ainz ordered.

After Albedo sent the message to all the NPCs that were outside of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, she along with Filius and Ainz all teleported back home.

Filius teleported to where Aura was at, "Aura?"

"Young lord? Is something wrong?", Aura asked in her confusion, Filius noticed that she was still on the cliffside but with some of her beasts.

"We need to leave now, orders from my father", Filius stated. Aura quickly nodded she didn't know why but she could tell he was serious, "Let's go guys!", she said as she went through the gate with her beasts.

Filius made sure that no one was following them, once he had a quick look he left.

After they returned home he looked at Aura, "Aura go and guard your floor along with your brother, make sure that you tighten up security."

"Okay, come on guys", Aura ran inside the tomb in a hurry.

Filius then used Greater Teleportation and was now in the grand hall with Yuri Alpha, Albedo, and his father. They seemed to have been speaking about something before he arrived, "Sorry for making you wait father."

"It's okay, now let me take you somewhere", Ainz said.

They all stood by each other and used Greater Teleportation, once more they were in a new place. This time they were in a small but tall room, in front of everyone there was a massive pile of gold, not just gold but precious gems and items.

"Is this the treasury?", asked Albedo.

"Yes, the only way to get here is by using the Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown", Ainz said then he took two steps to a wall beside them.

"Lord Ainz?", before Ainz could do anything else he was interrupted by Yuri. He turned around to look at what she wanted. In Yuri's had there was an item, "I wanted to ask why is there no one maintaining this treasury."

Ainz chuckled, he then pointed at the walls, Yuri turned and saw what he was looking at. They were glass windows that were embedded in the wall it was a display case. "It's not that nobody organizes this area, but it actually that there is no more room", Ainz said.

Throughout the many years, he and his guild had played the game, they had collected billions of items, material, gacha items, and money. They had so much that all their design of the tomb still wasn't enough to organize it all.

"As expected of the supreme beings, to have so much wealth that even organizing all this there will still be a disorder", Yuri said, she then carefully placed the coin back in the pile.

Ainz chuckled, "Yes, so many items and money, so much material that we had to leave them there." Ainz then looked back at the wall, "From here we will enter the new area, this is where the truly valuable items are at."

Filius, Yuri, and Albedo stood behind Ainz ready for the new room, where the World Items were.
