Chapter – 44: The clone moves

[Rei POV]

"No, in fact, I will become the organization myself, a terrifying one at that whose members can never truly be killed... Just like a Hydra!"

"Hydra! Mmm, that has a nice ring to it," I chuckle and continue practicing with the clone. My goal is to be able to fight a long drawn out battle with just the clone within a couple of weeks. Otherwise, all my other plans will have to be delayed.

There were a few things I wanted to confirm with the clone so I start with those.

First of which is obviously gathering and circulating the chakra. I have the clone sit cross-legged and start feeling the chakra. It didn't take long for it to feel chakra and circulate it all around the chakra coils. I breathed a sigh knowing that the hard part was done. If the clone couldn't even feel chakra, then all of this would have been a waste. One more amazing thing is that the clone already has the chakra at a Genin's level! That's a relief, as for growing the chakra, that can be done over time.

Next is casting jutsus. The first one I try is the first jutsu that every Uchiha learns.

[Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger] [Katon • Gokakyu no Jutsu]

A big red fireball almost thrice the size of what I performed at the academy test could be seen after I finished casting the jutsu.

'Good!' I think and move to other Katon jutsus like [Katon • Endan], [Katon • Goryuka no Jutsu], [Katon • Ryuka no Jutsu], etc.

After confirming everything is according to my expectations, I move on to the Sharingan and the Seal of Ouroboros. Because the cells used when creating this clone are three months old, it only has eleven active genes whereas I have activated the twelfth one about two months ago. So, I try to cast the seal for activating the next gene onto the clone. However, I was destined to be disappointed. No matter how much chakra I use, I couldn't make any changes to the genes inside the clone and they always remained inactive; it seemed as if the genes were locked and no external influence would work on them. I even tried chakra from other genes, but the result remained the same. So, for now, I decided to give up on activating genes in the clone. But I remember Orochimaru's Living Corpse Reincarnation Technique has the ability to transfer his physical essence into a new body. So, there should be some way to achieve this, I can search for it slowly. Since I can always clone again, this isn't a major issue.

Last is the Sharingan. I start infusing my chakra to my eyes and slowly my pupils turn blood red with three swirling tomoes. The world slows down and when I look towards my main body the Eye of Insight starts to work its magic and I could see the potent Purple chakra filling every inch of my chakra coils; especially the shoulder, where I could spot a huge amount of stored chakra slowly seeping into the body!

'A.I chip, start a new background task on the Parasite Subroutine to monitor the clone's activity. If the clone perishes or gets captured immediately destroy the Sharingan before self-destructing!'

[Beep! Initiating new background task… Setting up parameters… Done!]

[Beep! New background task started successfully.]

'I will never allow anyone to lay a hand on my eyes, even if it's from just a clone of mine!' I think, 'It's a shame though, my plans to cultivate different Mangekyo abilities couldn't be achieved.'

When I started the clone project, I had initially imagined that with Seal of Ouroboros I will be able to create many clones with different Mangekyo abilities. It was a wonderful dream but it will have to remain just a dream for now…

The only thing I am not sure of is, if I create two clones with my cells after activating Mangekyo and transplant their eyes into each other, will they achieve EMS? or if I transplant them to myself, will I get EMS? If it's just about being a close relative, I have ways to create a clone by merging my cells with someone else's creating an artificial sibling…

Anyway, that's for the future. For now, I have to first get used to having to control two bodies.

A month later, inside Origin space.

Two shadows were fighting at superhuman speed. Every attack from one of them is easily evaded or parried by the other. If one looks closely, it would seem similar to someone playing chess from both sides by himself. The two shadows are none other than me and my clone. After a month of non-stop practice, I can now easily multitask and control both bodies effortlessly. I am not saying it's perfect and there is no room for improvement, that cannot be rushed as it comes with time and practice.

With the clone ready to move out, I am finally ready to push forward my plans for Kiri's Kekkei Genkai clans. There are still about two years for the mass cleaning of these clans to occur, so I couldn't have asked for a better time for me to go there. But I need to be careful, although this is just a clone I will be going with, it only has the strength of a top chunin! I might be able to escape if I face a Tokubetsu Jonin, but if it's a true Jonin, I won't even be able to run away. But for the sake of Kaguya clan blood samples, I have to move out, it's just a matter of when. Therefore, I thought it's better to be there early. Just in case I lose this clone, I could always make a new one as it's just money and time. And I will have already started to make one by then or probably even completed it because of the optimized procedures!

And with that, I send the clone out of the Origin space., 'Target, Kirigakure!'
