Ch 2 - Options and flat chest

Of course I chose the Penetrator!

Look! Not only is it the best and most specialized class, with the most skills and traits, it also looks cute as heck!

I stare in utter joy at the cute appearance of myself. I hope this is what I looked like in real life.

Jade-like skin. Smooth light blond hair, almost grey. Large round black eyes. A cute little nose. tiny cherry lips. AHHHHHH! I became almost a jade beauty! But my hair is fancier!

"Eh."

I realized one thing as I touched my own body.

"Breasts..."

The grim realization dawned on me.

"Why do I still have tiny breasts?!" I screamed at the image on the mirror, cursing the gods of this virtual world for making such an evil prank.

"There should be a customization option somewhere..." I muttered as I clicked all over the character, dragging my fingers, pinching, doing every single VR gesture I could remember from the top of my head.

"Jiiiiiiiiii" I stared in disbelief and anger at myself realizing this is what I look like.

...

This is what I look like.

Hold on a second...

Why is this character so similar to the real me?!

Same height, same figure, almost the same face, just slightly tweaked and softened... Heck, even the haircut is the same as mine, just the color is a bit grayer.

There's no customization... I chose the class that best suited my own lifestyle.

Could it be that the game is using real data to generate the character!?

No... That'd be completely insane. Why the hell would they do that? It sure is just a random character that just happened to be cute because I behaved cutely. Yeah, definitely.

They probably had some issues with the character customization or the optimization algorithm and chose to disable it for this first day. We all know how random stuff gets when the optimization server gets a little overloaded... And can't just filter out the stupid generated characters... My dad told me the story about a game in his youth that had that issue. Nobody's Sky I think, can't recall, it's been a while...

*Slap*

"Okay! Let's go!" I yell at myself after clapping my face with both hands. Ah... it feels strange to feel pain inside a game. But I guess this is kinda realistic.

I click on the small green button to the side of the character resumed info, which shows Name, age, gender, sex, height, weight... Hold on a second. Why would they go that far!? Where's the privacy of information? Ah, this is just for myself... So I guess it's fine, right? But gender and sex... such a weird thing to have both at this day and age...

After I click the button, the whole room appears again, but this time, there's a door where there was a door before.

"Nice."

As I step towards it, a UI begins to appear on my peripheral vision.

"Eh.." I stand there confused as a white text with yellow particles appears.

My name appears on the top left corner of my vision, together with three more stats and my class.

This is interesting... I wonder what kind of things I'll be able to see about others.

Eh, what the heck, since when did that show up? Anyways, there's also a small minimap to the bottom-right corner. It only shows a plain square with a wardrobe and a small door icon... I guess It's very limited then. Let's see if this works.

I made the motion to open the menu, quickly opening my hands, and a fairly simple overlay showed over the icons that were already shown to me.

Oh yeah, first thing, the aim assist.

I clicked the three horizontal lines that appeared on the top right corner, next to a power button, which I guess would log me off. eh. Options menu...

Wow... this is a very dry menu. What options even are here...

Oh... This is a nice option for a harder experience... What else?

Eh... Why does this option even exist? No, leave me with my pixels!

<-Sexual Filter->

Ehhh... They intended to make it possible to disable that!? No way right... ah... It's greyed out. I guess it's just a placeholder then...

There it is! Disable!

I click the button and all the confirmation prompts and ready myself to leave the room. My clothing is nothing like a uniform military though... There's also no Guns menu.

"What time is it?" I mutter, searching for a clock in the UI, only to find one above... It's too small and in a bad place though... "Can I change it?" I ask myself out loud as I click and hold the options menu, only for the overlays to start strobing.

"Ah, I can!" I move the clock beneath my status and increase its size a bit. Now that I realize, there's a green bar over my name now. Oh, it says HP. Nice. I guess they are rolling the UI Slowly to get us used to it. The Opening Ceremony should begin in half an hour, I better get going.

I walk towards the door while staring at the clock. It's still 7:30PM, The ceremony starts at eight. As I open the door, a prompt appears, asking whether I want to visit someone or get out. I choose to get out, and the white background after the door slowly fades into existence as I become able to see a simple lobby, large and grey. The lobby is fairly large, and has many simple light fixtures embedded into the ceiling, almost like a bunker. Eh... This is a post apocalyptic game, guess I got too shocked by my own appearance.

I look around as I see people walking out of golden door frames that lead nowhere. Oh, they are the same as me. I walk over the lobby onto the main entrance. A large gaping hole to the side of the building.

"Wow..." I stare in utter amazement at the sheer scale of everything around me. The street is normal sized, but the buildings. They are gigantic~! I look up and behind me to see the building I came out from tower up hundreds of floors over my head and spread sideways a great deal. This building must be as wide as four blocks or something like that. Ah... I forgot to check the people right...? They look normal, rather, I'm the strange one, looking cute. The boys are all average. I can pretty much guess their class by height and muscle but... I can't seem to find any Penetrators. There are a handful of girls too, but they are also all Hawks and Grunts. Why is this class so unpopular? I think to myself as I stare at the people in ordinary casual clothes leaving the building and walking towards a strange looking monolith by the side of the road.
