Fantasy Strength

Chapter 6: Fantasy Strength

Vis glanced at the hole in the ceiling.

It was the only way out from what he could see. His eyes narrowed, then muscles around his legs tightened!

In the next second, Vis shot up from the ground like a rocket and in less than a second appeared within the corridor.

Before he landed, his head had hit the ceiling so hard that his vision blurred a little, "Ah, shit." The balance was yet again broken.

It was a similar situation to his first arrival here.

The smaller and younger body caused Vis to fall a lot on his first steps. He also had problems gathering strength, but it took him less than an hour to properly stabilize himself in the new world.

He also had to deal with the life-threatening beasts, so this surely helped him to assimilate with the memories and new body.

Now, Vis had it a little better. He just needed to fight and fight! He just needed to get used to his faster speed, stronger body, and increased senses that had been telling him more information ever since he jumped.

After appearing in his cave, Vis extended his hand for raw meat. He ate for an hour to fill his stomach and get rid of that bothering feeling, then stood up and left the cave.

His bones became black, but it didn't mean he lost his humanity.

He became a servant of the Soul Collector, so a lot of things changed anyway.

"It's easier to see through a snowstorm… I can also feel the approaching wolves… Oh… Is this the feeling of them spotting me too?" Vis began to learn a lot just by appearing outside.

He also was unfazed by the coldness and it tickled him instead.

Soon, the wolves surrounded him as it was a pack.

Those wolves couldn't see through Vis' strength, but his posture alerted those beasts. He stood as if frozen by the snowstorm, but their instincts had been screaming for a while now.

However, the beasts weren't that smart and rushed immediately after some time passed.

By then, Vis also reacted. His body disappeared and reappeared quite far away from the wolf, "Oh, this might take a while… Haha!" He laughed as he had aimed to appear exactly behind the wolf! But it turned out that Vis' strength increased so much that he couldn't properly pinpoint his location.

He appeared a few meters away and just laughter escaped his lips.

The wolves were even more confused, but they quickly realized that they were the ones hunted instead.

-

The white forest had many names, but people living in the vicinity had been calling it 'White Demons' Forest' ever since.

A constant and never changing snowstorm was the reason for this name, but so the wolves that were living here. Their white furs were thick, so it was not only the good camouflage but also the reason they could happily live in the forest.

But those beasts were also greedy creatures.

They often left their forest to hunt on the villagers and the war between the two species began.

"Aren't we too deep? Jushe?!" The hunters decided to enter the forest to surprise the beasts and bring back food to their families.

There was a lack of those beasts, however.

It had surprised every hunter in the group, but they pushed forward as times were too harsh lately.

One wolf could feed up to three families and they needed to hunt a few!

"We can go further!" Jushe, the leader and the strongest hunter, said out loud as he gestured to go forward. He held his ax tightly and cautiously went forward while taking the most snow onto his body.

His eyes then went wide as he found the cave with wolves' bodies strewn around…

"What is this?" He uttered to himself, but every hunter stopped immediately after their leader. They also curiously narrowed their eyes to check what was before them! Soon, every hunter could see the piled dead wolves near the cave's entrance.

There were so many of those…

Fear began to slowly bloom within their hearts, then a human left the cave with leather and thin clothes.

He was small, around 162 centimeters, but his gray spiky hair surely added some more! This person's eyes were already on the leader and his small posture had been shrouded in a sharp and heavy aura!

Jushe immediately took a respectful stance, "I greet the esteemed one! My name is Jushe, the hunter from Rue Village! Please, forgive us for trespassing your territory!" It didn't matter what kind of person this small man was.

Even if he would turn out to be a good person who just trained any cold technique, Jushe could only respectfully speak with fear controlling his manners.

"Stop it." The gray-haired man finally spoke, "So you are hunters? I can give you all those wolves, but only if you answer a few questions for me."

"Of course! Please, ask right away! It would be our honor!" Jushe replied instantly.

"Alright… So… What do you know about necromancers? Have there been any strange happenings around the vicinity? I also want to learn about this forest and its history." The man's questions continued to press the hunters, but they did their utmost best to answer all of these.
