Chapter 25: The Emperors… are gods?
"The Soul Collector's scum has won… Haha! So bad! I don't have any reason to keep accompanying you anymore," Ghastly Abomination shrugged, his ghost body exploding after.
He turned into many black streaks that went below to High Yoru's domain.
There were a lot of high elders, necromancers, and people unknowingly involved in this whole event.
Some Lula Clansmen weren't aware of their master's new life and ended up seeing a lot of deathly energies swimming around the mansion.
There was one particular individual that stood out, though.
A sharp silver hair and eyes continued to scan throughout the mansion in search of the necromancers and their energies.
He had a white-haired woman following him, her strength solely used to kill more necromancers for his sake.
"Here you are, scum!" Ghastly Abomination was about to get stopped by Master Harayan's Dream Powder, but he became like a fish in the water! He was so smooth and untouchable that Vis could only rely on himself.
As the blackbird skeleton wrapped itself around his body, Vis raised his eyes at those black streaks going straight at him, "Ghastly Abomination, was it? What's your problem?" He sounded composed, but deep inside Vis knew that it was not time yet to confront such a beast!
His skeleton managed to fend off the black energies, but a loud sound of cracking wounded Vis' heart instead.
Ghastly Abomination just briefly stopped and said, "Problem? You are the problem. The Soul Collector's scum, I shall be the one to kill you!"
"A person with such strength should match those equal to him. Has your morality turned into a ghost too?" Vis bit his lips after speaking these words.
He found this pressure too much, but Master Hayaran finally lent his hand and the waterfall of Dream Powder descended upon Ghastly Abomination!
The beautiful colors seemed like a rainbow and Vis was momentarily stuck in shock and awe.
He soon raised his eyes and found out that Ghastly Abomination no longer was here, but disappeared somewhere else.
Left alone with his skeleton, zombies, and Miku, Vis was about to face Master Hayaran!
-
"I didn't expect this trash to have such undead… Three different types of undead serving under one scum? I wonder what others would think about it?" Ghastly Abomination was no longer in the Blessed Archipelago.
He long disappeared somewhere far away.
Since his voice was quiet and calm, it was clear that the man successfully escaped without many wounds on his ghostly body.
The undead laughed to himself then, "Hehehe! At least two of them should get interested in this scum! I will show you what kind of problem you are," Ghastly Abomination laughed, his rough voice scratching the surroundings clouds!
He looked behind then...
Though The Blessed Archipelago was nowhere to be seen, he uttered to himself, "A first project failed! Hah!"
The first project related to The Blessed Archipelago was naturally to conquer one of the walls.
Its main product would be necromancers that would be the perfect counter to the Lula Tribe! The organization behind Ghastly Abomination would make High Yoru the leader of Lula Tribe and those blinded with necromancer powers wouldn't even be able to tell how naive and stupid they were.
It all failed, but some fruits had been harvested by Ghastly Abomination!
The Blessed Archipelago was far from peace.
-
"All necromancers have been caught, Master Hayaran. We were forced to kill a few, but many willingly surrendered," One of the high elders reported.
He bowed and passed the document, then turned around and silently left the master alone.
This old man already had a long talk with other masters and one could see how enraged Master Hayaran deeply was.
The master sifted through the document, then hid it in dimensional storage.
"The Soul Collector's servant… We do have common enemies, but the souls of our ancestors would immediately turn this brat into the next successor, wouldn't they?" Master Hayaran knew that he could rely on Vis when it came to the necromancers.
The reports and his show in the mansion had shown his only desire.
It's been six hours since the whole event…
Vis, Miku, and High Nami were ordered to stay in one house with the oldest woman still in a coma. She just experienced The Soul Collector's laughter real close, so even Master Hayaran could tell what kind of effect it had.
He was also risking another high elder's life by putting her close to Vis, but it was the last test for Vis.
The old eyes glanced to the shabby house, wisdom instantly filling those after, "He's a threat…" Vis had absorbed High Yoru's black energy which increased his strength so much that Master Hayaran was certain that the silver-haired man was the threat.
There was a possibility of Vis turning his back against the Lula Tribe in the future with an intent to take over the ancestors' souls!
If this thing were truly to happen, then it would be one of the old man's deepest regrets.
Yes, it would be regretful because Master Hayaran planned to let Vis just leave the island.
So far, the silver-haired man had been just resting in the house while analyzing his strength growth and new technique.
He was set on getting stronger and that was how it should be!
The old man soon made his way to the house…
-
'Of course, he would aim his abilities at me… That was a great mistake… Good that I had a black skeleton around me…' Vis had been mostly thinking of Ghastly Abomination's last attack against him.
They were enemies, so it was normal for them to face off like that, but Vis was weak yet he hadn't thought much of protecting himself just in case.
He put too much belief in Master Hayaran's strength and it was his mistake.
"Recovered?" This old man's voice suddenly rang out.
He appeared behind Vis, holding to the cane as if he had back problems… But the problems that weighed his body weren't physical! It was not something that Vis would think about, though.
The fifth prince just stood up, "I have recovered already… The one who needs the most attention is High Madame," He answered briefly.
His second servant stood up and bowed, "Hello Master Hayaran," Miku respectfully allowed her husband to speak, but it was already obvious what kind of relationship it was.
"She will recover in no time. As for her…" Master Hayaran glanced at the white-haired servant, "Her soul is intact?"
"She does have soul, part of it. But, this will naturally recover by my side," Vis answered honestly.
The old man just sighed and closed his eyes, "Take this…" He soon took out the book that could be opened through Dream Powder.
It was something for Miku, so Vis instantly passed it to her, "Our Dream Wall is the best place for her, but you can not stay here any longer. I will give you a pass once in ten years," Master Hayaran bluntly said after seeing this act.
He knew that Miku was a treasure, a unique undead that had its own consciousness intact! She was also the important key to the future that probably would stop Vis from trying to go against The Blessed Archipelago.
"Thank you," Miku thanked after her master told her to, then Vis himself bowed.
They soon left the Dream Wall under Master Hayaran's guidance, "If Master Hayaran would be willing, then pass my thanks to High Madame on my behalf. I feel disappointed that I can't bid farewell to her," Vis said.
"I will pass it," Master Hayaran had some second thoughts, but he just agreed.
Before Vis and Miku left the island, Vis asked a certain tricky question, "Master Hayaran, do you know the emperor of the Merthic Empire?"
"Merthic Emperor?" The old man pondered for a little, "What do you want to know?"
"I would like to know how strong he is," Vis already had plans for his next destination. It would be the return to Merthic Empire as it could help him learn new common stuff.
For example, the technique High Madame used to fill the gaps. He would be able to learn it easier by knowing about his origins.
The Titan God's Bloodline needed proper growth as well!
Vis didn't plan to return that quickly, but he became much stronger and had a little confidence.
"Empires were made for the sake of raw power, but also longevity," The Master Hayaran spoke in a roundabout way, but Vis just patiently listened, "The Empires' descendants don't have a pure bloodline. It's not only because of the time but also because of the process behind it."
"..."
"The first emperors inherited the bloodline from the god era. Some were chosen, some stumbled upon it. There are a lot of stories behind each empire, but all of them have the same principle; they want raw power and longevity. The Emperor must check these two principles, otherwise, he is nothing but a failure."
"..."
"Now, I am about to tell you a baseless rumor, but there should be a little truth to it. The Emperor is a person that can purify his bloodline to an immaculate state. In Merthic Empire's case, he would become the titan himself. But this is a one-time ability and by possessing it, you can become the emperor. In other words, the emperors rarely fight because they can become gods for one time and bring chaos to the world. Our Blessed Archipelago wouldn't go against any empire because of the emperors." That was an answer.
Even though it was not confirmed, the empires kept themselves in check by using their armies, not the emperors!
Even if there was some other reason, no one would blindly wage the war against any established forces!
"If The Emperor can become god… then wouldn't he go for it at the end of his life?" Vis asked.
He would go for it if there was no more lifespan in his body!
"There has to be some side-effect. As I said, this is just a baseless rumor. We don't know what empires hide beneath their grounds, but you rarely hear 'The Empire's Fall' news… Though the world continues to move fast and we see changes happening in every continent… The End might soon visit one of the empires…"
"..."
