Underground

Chapter 39: Underground

"Have you stitched her already?" Vis asked Miku whose hands had been doing her best to stitch the zombie woman.

Both of them had never done it before, so Miku took the task into her hands and began to amateurishly do it.

"Yes, I have just ended," Miku replied and showed the stitched zombie woman.

The zombies had a few problems and this one was one of many.

They just couldn't connect their bodies as easily as dullahan could its head. They needed to use energy to keep that part stitched, then regenerate naturally after the battle ended.

In some extreme cases, even the natural regeneration was impossible, but it was known for strong zombies that had their own consciousness and path.

This zombie woman was exactly like that. She needed so much energy and proper treatment that Vis just told his servant to keep her stitched like a doll.

One move and she would cut all her strands.

It meant that the zombie woman couldn't be used as one of his army's soldiers, but Vis already had another plan for her.

"This woman just showed me… a new ability," Vis responded to Miku's eyes. Those were yearning for some explanation and she seemed to be more interested in life overall.

Was it because of the different lands? Dream Wall, The Empire, The Wall, and Monkey Prince, and now this zombie woman. There were a lot of events already in the fifth prince and Miku's lives.

Be that as it may, Vis just continued with the important topic, "I can process her memory. I just had seen the part of it and this was deeply related to me, but If I can keep her close to myself and experiment with this ability for more, then I will be able to gather intel far easier from the undead."

Right now, Vis had been doing his best to learn more from her memories.

He kept the feeling of new ability behind his mind, then continued to search for more information.

What Vis knew so far was that the crown prince had a meeting with a stronger zombie. This zombie was Bella's superior and his appearance had been hidden even from her. He wore green robes that completely hid him and even his eyes!

After this man used underhanded methods, he met the crown prince and requested cooperation.

"It didn't look like the crown prince was against it at all…" From the beginning, the crown prince didn't show much disgust towards the zombie man.

Instead, he spoke about profits and how could this relationship turn into something bigger.

This prince's plans weren't all clear, but Vis could feel the emperor's vibes out of Sedis.

Both of them had that desire, "For the empire, for the empire, for the empire." Vis shook his head, his hand leaving the zombie's woman skin.

He couldn't put any more burden onto his mind.

For now, Vis, Miku, and the ghost monkey began to scour the whole battlefield in search of any equipment. Whether broken or not, it still could be used for Vis' bloodline.

The dead bodies also could become zombies, strong enough to cause problems for future enemies…

-

"Your name will be Kenny… I will take care of you later." Vis said to the ghost monkey who nodded a few times like a stupid monkey he was supposed to be…

A ghost was the new type in Vis' army, so proper research had to be done later on.

For now, Vis decided on a slow return to his empire.

They didn't have any carriage nor anyone to help them, but Vis also wanted to take his time here…

If he was correct, then the crown prince expected him to be dead already.

The same should go for the zombie superior, but this creature could've been already on his way towards here.

So Vis took a detour and then made a camp in the dark forest.

He summoned the zombie woman's body out of his black book, then scratched his head as her head rolled on the ground.

It nearly fell to the bonfire, so he called out to Miku, "Hold her head, Miku."

Then, Vis began to use his new ability more. The name of this was 'Undead Memory' to keep it simple.

"Underground… I just got brief information about underground…" Vis plans began to shift immediately after he had acquired this information.

In the world, people mostly hated The Soul Collector for his worldwide ability to steal souls.

The deceased couldn't be properly buried nor they couldn't even reincarnate. They were the slaves, the food and pleasure to this black skeleton.

The world also hated necromancers, but people had different views when it came to those people.

It was because those people used similar powers to the soul collector, but their range of ability was often limited.

It certainly wasn't worldwide, so people had better views of them just from that. Furthermore, those people fought against The Soul Collector and had been trying to smell out him and his world ever since.

If necromancers killed the Soul Collector and stopped the curse, then what was left would be just them and their necromancy skills.

But was there part of the world where nobody fell dead? There wasn't, so people were more in favor of necromancers.

"And no one of them had thought once that some necromancer god might want to take the Soul Collector's place? But for convenience, anyone can begin to believe in stupid things. That's the nature of humans and all living beings." Vis commented, his eyes narrowed.

The Underground.

It was a place where not only the undead were frequent visitors or residents.

All other races had their deals here…

What about the Merthic Empire? Was this place the crown prince's goal?

"We are going here," Vis said, his voice deep. Even if this underground would be the tiger's den, Vis had to go here and begin another dangerous adventure.
