Chapter 43: Shrine

Vis was forced to spend a few days more in the underground before a useful technique landed in his hands. He used Miku's achievements, her connections in the Headless Circle, but more importantly, the new dullahan whose heart was shrouded in shrewd and egotistical nature.

This dullahan was the one that Karin met during the dullahan nightmare.

Vis exposed himself and his powerful skeleton whose coldness left shivers on the dullahan's body. Blue Icewing wasn't normal and in her prime, she would sweep through those dullahans, but Vis couldn't ask for more.

This dullahan's name was Erlom and he was the one to pass the zombie technique to Vis. It came straight from the underground and no hidden measures should be within it.

Vis properly scanned the book, forced his zombie to learn it, and found no flaws at all.

This technique was called 'Miasma Absorption'. It was a curse technique, but each undead had its techniques and unique aspects.

The zombies could move their flesh even after losing it and their curses were one of the deadliest towards the physical body. Of course, they could take back their lost flesh and stick it back which was yet another aspect.

Initially, this technique would turn the bitten flesh into pure miasma to strengthen the zombie. It could be used through teeth, but also the nails.

However, Vis began to experiment more. He wasn't just The Necromancer or The General Of Undead Army.

He was also the Titan's Descendant.

"Don't die from blood loss…" Karin's worry perfectly described what Vis had been doing so far.

She looked at his bloody arm that had one deep cut that continuously oozed out the blood. This blood was used through one of his zombies to create miasma with titan god's bloodline.

Of course, Vis wouldn't pass his bloodline but raise its vitality.

And high miasma with vitality was one of the things that Vis needed. But he had been aiming to learn more about this technique and get the desired effect. An effect that would steal Celes' child's bloodline and pass it to him.

Continuously researching this, Vis suddenly turned his eyes to Karin, "Do you know a flesh with high vitality?"

"You mean a race with one? In our surroundings, it would be the Salamandra Tribe. They are subjects of the Kuyu Empire, so I think you have more reasons to go for them." Karin replied, then Vis thanked her deeply.

He also shared what lied in his mind, "I should be able to create good flesh for one of the zombies… I want to learn about Bella's superior and slowly track him up… There is so many undead it's disgusting…"

"What's disgusting is that while the world hates them, no one even tries to erase their existence," Karin also shared her view and her fiance just shrugged.

Vis continued to play around with this new technique, then planned a visit to the Salamandra Tribe.

Meanwhile, Miku suddenly got a weird proposition.

"Would you like to go with me to our lord's shrine?" The shrine was something she never heard of, so Miku did her best to not tilt her head. Her eyes continued to look over the dullahan who wanted to become as closest as possible.

By the shrine, he meant the hidden shrine which was another subworld. In this world, the dullahan's were faced with various challenges and rewards for their deeds.

The closest comparison would be the Blessed Archipelago and their closed land. It was also a subworld in a certain sense as the world's hate couldn't reach here.

Miku just replied, "I will think about it." The dullahan wanted to become close, so he was pretty persistent. Miku's words made him leave with a gleeful smile.

She then passed her news to Vis.

"For the dullahans and undead, they are pretty nice," Vis laughed. For many, he would imagine that those dullahans would just resort to much worse means of gaining the lady's heart and body.

Often, the strength could just solve many problems.

But so far, those dullahans were like gentlemen and Vis laughed genuinely.

He then said, "Shrines, huh… I can't believe our little lie will give us a way to the shrine… There are many shrines from what I know and they are subworlds to pass the whole benefits to the god." If not, then the Soul Collector's worldwide power would butt in. From what Vis heard, there were also even other transcended beings whose influence was worldwide too.

Those shrines were also expendable, so many other servants from the Soul Collector also wanted to find them…

For Vis, all it took was to have a cute dullahan from the strong race…

"Our trip to the salamandra tribe should be clear." Vis stated, "There is not much time for us anyway, so let's get going immediately." There was just too much stuff to do, so Vis and Karin quickly left the underground and moved towards the Kuyu Empire.
