Chapter 97

The plan was simple. Bruce will have to leak a little info about his whereabouts and hopes it gets back to the Federation. When the federation comes down to get him, a battle between Wayne's gang and the Federation will break out. No matter which side eventually wins, Bruce has to be captured. Carnage will then teleport to him when he reaches Aerehold, complete his mission, then free him. No one else would know the plan besides the three of them, making the Wayne Gang would put up a real fight against the federation and not just acting. Carnage once points out that some of the members of the Wayne Gang would die so he could see Bruce's reaction, but who knew this Bruce was a savage. He shrugged it off, saying they would be proud to die for him.

Although there was a chance the speedster won't be in Aerehold, it was his best choice of action as of now. Unless the speedster chooses to use his speed, then he will have a better way to catch the speedster.

"The federation will be here any minutes now," Bruce said as he took a puff of his cigar. He sat on his computer seat, facing the waterfall. He was dressed in an entirely black suit, a red tie, and a red bat symbol on the tie. Carnage stood on his left, watching Bruce with interest, and Diana stood on his right, pointing both her hand in the form of a cannon at the waterfall.

"That bat symbol is what you will use to contact me, right?" Carnage asked, wanting to make sure.

"Yes, and I hope you keep your end of the deal," Bruce said, staring intently at Carnage.

"Of course I will. Who in their right mind will break a deal with Batman?" Carnage laughed, watching multiple men walk through the hallway. The hallway traps activated but were easily destroyed by them.

"Batman. I like that name." Bruce mumbled, nodding his head.

Just then, a man walked through the waterfall of lava. He is a young man about 6'1" with yellow eyes and long silver hair. He has a lean muscular build and wore an all-black high-necked jacket with matching pants and dark dress boots. He also has a gas mask.

"Wow, Bruce. How can you live in this slum." The man asked, placing his hands into his pocket as 12 men in black walked and lined up behind him. They pointed their guns at the trio, the front ones getting on their knee and the back staying standing. "It smells like shit down here. No, my shit doesn't smell like this. I can't breathe correctly."

"Well, this is the oh so good world you created, Impulse. Don't complain." Bruce said, crossing his legs a releasing the smoke he was holding.

"And you still smoke? Disgusting. Utterly disgusting." Impulse gagged under his gas mask. "You haven't changed with the time. At least you didn't become like that lady next to you." He finished, gesturing at Diana, who stuck up the middle finger at him.

"What can I say. Time moves with me." Bruce smirked, throwing the cigar at Impulse's feet. "And I was thinking on getting some cyberwar. Don't you think it will look good on me?"

Impulse stared at the cigar before looking at Bruce with intense eyes. "Where is the blueprint?"

"I don't think you will want it. It got the filth of the bottom layer on it." Bruce chuckled, seeing how desperate Impulse is to get the blueprint.

"Oh really. This also means you have the filth of the bottom layers on you." Impulse mumbled, Bruce's eyes immediately widening.

"Protect me!" Bruce shouted just as Impuls commanded, "Eliminate them."

Just then, they were showered in bullet, completely ripping through Bruce's body like a hot knife through butter. Carnage was quick enough to run behind Diana, avoiding the shower of plasma bullets. After all, without his second skin, he would be burned to death. Unsurprisingly, her body was able to withstand the barrage of bullets.

The shower ended with Bruce's completely torn apart body on the chair. Diana stared at Bruce's body, unmoving. Tears came down her eyes as she reached towards his body with shaky hands.

"Dubble tap. Always double tap." Impulse shouted, "Shoot his brain. Bruce can't be revived with his brain gone."

"NO!" Diana roared, releasing a shockwave from her body, pushing everything back. The lava splashed against the wall, Carnage narrowly avoiding some stray ones.

The men were pushed back, some of them falling into the lava pit. Those who didn't fall aimed and fire, but Diana was quick enough to get in front of Bruce's corpse, hugging and protecting his head. After a while, she felt strange. Nothing has hit her.

A smug smile appeared on Impulse's face behind the gas mask as he said, "My men never miss."

Looking up, she found Bruce's brain destroyed by multiple plasma bullets. Tears fell down Diana's eyes, her body uncontrollably trembled. She slowly hugged Bruce's body like the body of a lover before muttering,

"You won't go alone, my love. Final detonation." Her body began to glow a bright white, her heart is the most apparent.

"Oh lord," Impuls mumbled, slowly stepping back.

'She is about to blow.' Carnage thought, looking at the reaction going through her body. 'It seems like I can find out if this Impulse guy is a speedster.'

Diana's body kept glowing brighter, soon becoming as bright as the surface of the sun. As the reaction reached its peak, white lightning appeared around Impulse's body as he disappeared in a white lightning streak.

Carnage ran up to Bruce's computer while making sure he avoided any of Diana's explosions. Reaching into his pocket, he used the USB which he created to collect all data from the computer. The self-destruct explosion speed or intensity was nowhere close to Felicia's self-destruct, so Carnage easily escaped the blast range.

Impulse stood on top of a mountain, silently watching the dome of white explosion. "You came to get me, right?" He suddenly said.

Seeing he had been caught, Carnage stopped trying to be sneaky. He shot forward, literally tearing through time and space, trying to touch Impulse, but with a simple sidestep, he dodged.

"Why would the speed force send someone who can't catch me? The other time wrath it sent was all faster than you." Impulse said, dodging another of Carnages grab. "Your body is good. After I serve your connection to the speed force, I would use it to create my greatest creation."

Carnage cared less of what Impuls said as he was now one with the speed force. Nothing can serve him from the speed force but the speed force itself. As he reached to grab Impuls again, Impuls let Carnage graze him to see why this speedster really wanting to touch him.

"My speed... It reduced..." Impuls stuttered, moving many meters away from Carnage. "You are one of the speed force Enforcers?"

"You guessed right." Carnage said, grinning. "Now, let me touch you more."

Impuls stepped back some more, genuinely scared of Carnage. The Wraths would take some of his life forces away when they touch him, which was easy to counter. But having his speed taken away? There was no way he could counter that. He took one more step back, and with a white lightning bolt, he disappeared from his spot.

Carnage started wide-eyed at the sport Impulse once stood, "D-did he just jump to Earth negative 1 from a standstill?" Carnage could easily jump through millions of Earth's while standing still because he is now part of the speed force as its enforcer, but normal speedsters like Flash or Impuls aren't supposed to be able to do that. "He must have moved so fast I couldn't see him. Fuck! How am I supposed to catch him!!!" Carnage shouted, and with a bolt of red lightning, disappeared from his spot.

With a red lightning bolt, Carnage appeared within the busy street of a city, scaring everyone around. They all started running around screaming while he sensed for Impuls. The news, amount of speedsters, of Krees, and lesser Krees, were all the same.

"I never knew I lived in Earth negative 1. Not that I ever cared to check." Carnage said as he ran out of the city with a red streak. "I wonder what Earth-1 is like. Now, let's focus on catching Inpulse."

Normally, Carnage couldn't sense Impulse while he isn't using the speed force, but now he can. After sensing his speed force energy once, he can now track it wherever it is in the multiverse. Just like he could sense Flash or Kid Flash wherever they are in the world.

Impulse, who was hiding out in a school bus, felt Carnage coming. "How? I am not even using the speed force." He mumbled, looking around at the school students starring at him. "What the fuck are you low lives looking at? This place smells like shit. I shouldn't be able to smell it, since I am wearing a gas mask, but I do. That's how bad it smells."

Carnage appeared within the bus, looking around. "Of all places, you chose to hide in a school bus?"

"Well, I could kill them all." Impulse said, causing all the others to shiver away. "If you don't let me go. I know you are a hero. Why else would the speed force chose you as one of its enforcers."

A crazy grin appeared on Carnage's face. He grabbed the head of one of the students and squeezed, causing it to explode like tomatoes. The bus driver, who was still driver in fear of being killed, suddenly swerved, driving into a gas tank. As the tank exploded, time slowed.

"Because I don't care about no one but myself."

"Oh... That is not good..." Impulse mumbled, stepping back. "Well, you can't catch me. I mean, your max speed isn't even Mach 1 thousand. Please. I have the higher ground."

"Oh, really." Carnage asked, a grin appearing on his face. His body started rapidly deteriorating, a strong stench building up around him. Soon, he became a decayed humanoid being with a red lightning bolt on the chest.

"Wh-what are you?" Impulse asked, white lightning flashing around his body.

"My wOrk UNIfoRm." He said, in a husky, low, sinister voice. Just like people who wear suits to their job, this is the form he wears when he is on the job. When Carnage was coming to Earth -1, he was called into the speed force and told about it. It allows him to move at the same speed as the time wraths, or even faster. In this form, he became an aspect of the speed force, and as an aspect of the speed force, he cannot die by any ordinary means. "Run..."

Impulse wasn't one to be told once as he bolts out of there in a white streak. A sinister grin formed on Carnage's face, revealing yellowish rotten teeth, then he shot after Impulse in a black streak of lightning.
