Chapter 145

Lorelei brought out her whip but threw it to the side. Instead of using the whip, she uses Gradation Air to create a broadsword, bearing a striking resemblance to Excalibur. She stabbed Excalibur to the ground, closing her eyes. She reopened them, rainbow-colored eyes replacing her brown eyes.

Seeing a fight is inevitable, Impulse bent forward, using Gradation Air to create two long daggers tied together by a long chain. He considered using a spear, but he felt that the spear would be ineffective against her sword. He got lower to the ground, dashing toward his opponent at supersonic speed, three booms echoing behind him.

She brought her sword back, the tip glinting a blue color, before waving it at Impulse shooting towards her. A bright blue and white beam shot out from the sword that moved with the sword. The beam destroyed some pillars in the cave, sending rocks flying around.

Her rainbow eyes darted around, stopping in a spot where Impulse appeared with a silver streak. She instantly waved the sword, shooting more blue and whitebeam horizontally at him. Impulse eyes glinted as he slid, dodging the beam. He then jumped up, dodging another one. A red aura appeared around him as he disappeared once more.

He appeared multiple meters behind Lorelei, sliding through the ground like he was skating. She turned to him, ready to slash her sword, but he appeared behind her once more, the chains of the daggers wrapping around her neck as he pulled forward, trying to choke her. But instead, he found himself skating towards her once more, something he just did some seconds ago.

'The fuck?' He thought, trying to regain control of his body, but his eyes weren't allowing it.

He redid the same thing, appearing behind her, with the daggers chain wrapped around her neck. But this time around, she quickly jumped up, getting out of the range of the sword. Twisting her body in mid-air, she swung her sword down at Impulse's neck, but he disappeared, appearing behind Lorelei. He stabbed her at the back of her head with one of his daggers, but she did a spin in mid-air, blocking the stab with the bord part of her sword.

She then waved her sword at Impulse, sending a crescent-shaped blue and white energy at him. But he disappeared once more, the crescent energy hitting the roof of the cave, sending rocks falling. Lorelei landed softly on the ground, doing multiple flips as she kicked the falling rocks and boulders at Impulse, who was running around her in a red and silver streak.

Impulse dodged all the flying rocks as he closed his eyes, exciting auto mode. He wanted to fight her by himself but found that his speed notably reduced, and his reaction speed was reduced even lower. He was almost hit by boulders kicked to him by Lorelei, so he quickly opened his eyes once more, his body entering autopilot mode, kicking the boulder back.

'Well, this is convenient. My eyes know how to use my body more efficiently than I do.' Thought as his body jumped into the air, dodging another boulder. 'Hmm. all I need to do is strengthen my body and let my eyes fight… Na, that would be stupid. Can't keep relying on it."

He flew through the air towards Lorelei, leg first, his arm crossed in an X on his chest. A red glow glimmered around his body as he shot toward Lorelei in a red stream. Before she could react, his feet made a connection with her stomach.

A wave went around the cave, sending spider webs cracks through the cave floor. Red circuits appeared on impulse legs as his eyes glinted, twisting his legs. Lorelei's feet rose off of the ground, and soon, she was flying backward. Her body crouched in a low position as she sailed through the air. After a few seconds of staying airborne, she managed to right herself in midair and force one of her feet down on the ground. It acted as a makeshift anchor and soon enough, her speed started to slow down as her foot skidded on the ground, sending dirt and gravel flying as she did so.

Impulse shot towards her in a red streak, going for another kick. He managed to connect with her once more, on her abdomen, but her eyes glinted, and he found himself back in time, flying towards her once more. As his leg was about to connect with her abdomen, she raised her sword, slashing down.

His body quickly maneuvered, managing to dodge the slash that sent out a destructive wave of energy. He retreated, but her eyes glinted and he found himself flying towards her again. This time, she slashed down but immediately kneed up, managing to hit Impulse right in his jaw.

Impulse coughed out black blood as he closed his eyes, trying once more to take control of his body, but failed. Now, he couldn't even close his eyes, all he could do was watch. His body ignored the pain, disappearing in a red streak as he started running around her.

Following him with her eyes, she quickly blocked a stab aiming for the back of her head with the broad side of her sword. Annoyed at his movement, she stabbed the ground, sending a wave of blue energy through it.

Large chunks of the cave floor rose to the air, disorienting Impulse. He quickly regained his balance, jumping from airborne rocks to rocks, moving to Lorelei standing on a large piece of floating earth.

When he got closer, he suddenly reappeared when he was disoriented, with Lorelei appearing right before him and slicing down.

He moved at superhuman speed, his eyes leaving behind a streak. Again, he returned to his disoriented, this time, she slashed down then twisted her sword mid-air, slashing at Impulse. She managed to cut off one of his arms, black blood spewing out like a fountain.

Again, he returned to his disoriented position, his arm still cut off. Slashing from a different angle, she managed to slash his other arm.

And yet AGAIN, he appeared in his disoriented position.

"Stop spamming that." Impulse shouted as blood started flowing down his eyes. "Is that the only way you can defeat me? By spamming!?"

"You would have been dead the moment the fight started, but the city above us is your savior." Lorelei said in a cold tone, kicking him on his stomach.

He flew through many of the flyings Earth, twisting in mid-air to stick a landing on another airborne earth.

"Your eyes are going to be interesting to the Barthomeloi, so I will be taking you in for research. Who would have thought the missing eyes of the Barthomeloi would appear in the child of a traitor." She sneered, appearing beside him and grabbing his neck with her free hand. "And I will have to spare the life of a Dead Apostle." She finished with a gag of disgust.

'That's better than dying. At least I can escape.' Impulse thought, not trying to break free from her chokehold. Besides, his arm is missing, and some of his tendons and muscles were ripped. Even with this enhanced body, he wasn't able to match this woman's speed. If he didn't have the Eyes of Lord, he would be long dead. 'This isn't the body of a Kree. All these injuries should be healed by now. This is a body of a Dead Apostle, whatever that is...'

The copy of Excalibur she held disappeared as she looked at her watch. "4 minutes 21 seconds. The longest I have ever fought in more than 900 years. You should be proud of yourself."

The flying earth pieces slowly dropped as she appeared in the entrance to the tunnel they came from.

"Time to keep my promise." She said, walking down the tunnel, dragging Impulse with his hair behind her.
