Couple In Love

"Send me the pictures," LinLin requested.

"Me too, me too.." Jason said.

"Wait..let me create a group for us. You all have the messenger app, right?" Micheal asked no one in particular.

He gets busy with his phone for a minute.

"Come on, come on..accept the request."

Everyone fumbling with their phone and accepted the group request.

"Seriously Mike? 'Handsome man & his friends'? Loser!" Jason mocked.

"What? I'm really handsome, and you all are my friends."

"Euuu..the name doesn't sound glamour," LinLin said.

"See..she agreed too," Jason quipped.

"It's the first time you two agreed on something. Keep it up!" Calvin jested.

"Euuu..don't want to."

"Yukss.."

They argue about the suitable name for their group for half an hour.

"Ahaa! I know, I know.. 'The Beauty and The Beasts'!" LinLin exclaimed.

"Yukss..Hua'er is really a beauty, but not you."

"You..! I'm pretty too, alright. Am I right, Hua'er?"

"Yes, you're pretty."

"I agreed with the name," Danial said.

Calvin and Micheal nodded, agreed.

"See..I'm such a genius," LinLin praise herself.

Jason harrumphed.

"Mike, the photos.." LinLin demanded.

"Right..wait for a moment."

Micheal checked every photos and share them in the group messenger.

"Oh! I love this photo. This too. Oh? You both look like a couple in love in this picture."

LinLin shows the photo to Wang Hua and Danial. Wang Hua blushed while Danial smugly smile in his heart.

'Of course we do.' He thought inside his mind. But he just smile fleetingly without commenting on the picture.

Inside the picture, Wang Hua was looking towards the camera, blushing and hugging her knees while Danial's hand behind her and he slightly turns his body towards her and staring at her face. The photo was taken by Michael before they were well prepared. Because the picture is candidly snapped, the impact is more prominent. As if they are the only person there.

While everyone gushing about some pictures, Danial secretly admires the picture and set it as his favourite. Then he nonchalantly slips his phone inside his pants pocket.

"Ha..after this, everyone can share what they plan everyday inside this group. Maybe we can plan something later," Micheal said excitedly.

Everyone agreed.

"Do you have a plan tomorrow morning, Hua'er?" Micheal asked.

"Umm? Not yet, maybe sleeping in. But, we both want to kayaking at 5pm."

"Kayaking? Where?" Jason inquired.

"Just where have you been before? Inside a cave in thick forest?" LinLin mocked him.

"Hey! I don't know too," Micheal mumbled.

LinLin looks at them one by one while they shaking their heads.

"Unbelievable! Did any of you have been to the library?"

The boys shakes their heads.

"What?! Lazy buffoons."

LinLin shaking her head incredulously.

"Did you all know this campus has three big man-made lakes? The biggest is facing the library. If you ever go to the library, you can see the sun reflection on the lake surface. It's really beautiful."

"So?"

"The same lake is available for some water sports. You can kayaking, canoeing or jet skiing. But not swimming and fishing. There's a pathway around the lake, so you can jog or walking around. There's some small gazebos built around the lake too, so you can just sit and enjoy the nature. You can dating there too..hehehe.."

"Oh~~ Wait, you both know how to kayaking? I don't," Micheal sulked.

"Just do whatever you want then. It's not my problem."

"Can't you teach me how to?" Micheal pleaded.

"Nope, I don't know how. I mean, I do know kayaking but I don't know how to teach you. Hua'er taught me before."

They all look at Wang Hua.

"You really know everything," Jason said.

"No..not everything. Kayaking is almost the same as you row a small boat. I know how to row a small boat and raft during my childhood. That's all."

"So, can you teach me?" Micheal asked.

"I can but it's not that easy to learn. You might need several days for you to learn the skills. Do you know how to swim a bit? "

"I do, I do..so, I can join you too tomorrow, right?"

Wang Hua nodded.

"Wooohooo~~"

LinLin talked about her first experience in kayaking. They laughed occasionally when she told them her funny moments.

"Ah! It's already 11pm," Wang Hua exclaimed.

"Really? Wow..the time sure quickly flies. So you want to go back now?" Micheal asked.

"Yes, I need to finish my assignments."

"You already have assignments? It's just first week," Jason exclaimed.

"Yes, two assignments. Well, the lecturers can't wait to torture us," she jested and stands up.

The others followed suit.

Wang Hua crouch to fold the blanket but Danial beat her to it.

"You already cook. Leave the rest to us."

She nodded gratefully.

Wang Hua turns to pick a medium sized paper bag and pass it to Danial.

"For me?" he asked.

"Yes, thanks for the car. You can give each of them a jar. There's five jars in there."

Danial peeks inside and nodded.

"Thank you. Good night."

"Yes, good night."

Wang Hua and LinLin bids them good night before they walk back to their dorm, carrying the empty containers.

"What's inside?" Micheal asked.

"None of your business."

"Hey, she said to give us a jar each person," Jason exclaimed.

"Nope, I don't want to."

"I'll tell Hua'er now that you refused to give them to us," Micheal childishly threaten him.

Danial begrudgingly gives each of them a jar of cookies before he strode off.
