Take Care

"Why~?" Micheal whined.

"That's --"

"Wang Hua, fancy to meet you here," a cheery voice interrupted.

Everyone turns to look at the uninvited stranger and Danial immediately pursed his lips to curb his annoyance. 'This man.'

"Oh! Senior Tong. Have you eaten your dinner? Do sit, please."

"Nah! It's okay. I won't be long. Here."

"What's this?" Wang Hua flips the page and nodded.

"I met Mr Ou just now, he bought me dinner and ask me to give you this. There's some changes in the programme."

"Ah! Thank you, Senior Tong," Wang Hua bowed slightly.

"It's nothing. Alright, I'll take my leave first. See you tomorrow."

Tong Zhan stares at Danial for a while and smirks before he bade them goodbye.

'Yo man! You're full of vinegar, I can felt it from afar. Too bad I'm not really your rival.'

Danial felt provoked. He glares at the man's back, angrily.

"What's that?" Micheal asked, curiously.

"Haa..that's what I said before," LinLin exclaimed.

"What did you said?" Micheal perplexed.

"You won't be able to eat her foods for over a week."

"Why?"

"She has a conference in Germany for a week."

Everyone shocked.

"Really?" Jason asked.

"Yeah..I was informed this afternoon."

"So, that's..?" Micheal points at her hand.

"Oh..this is the updated itinerary of the programme."

She pass the folded flyer to them.

"So when are you going?" Calvin asked.

"Tomorrow morning."

"With that boy?" Danial inquired.

"Ah! Yes, with Senior Tong. There're lecturers too."

Danial pursed his lips.

'Still, they will be together for a week.'

"Huhuhu..if I miss your cooking?"

"Hahaha..it's just a week..umm..nine days included the travelling time."

"Hey, eat your noodles faster. It's soggy," LinLin exclaimed.

"Here, here..pizza with extra cheese."

Wang Hua's phone beeped. She unlocked her phone and read the message.

'I want 2 meet u alone later. -Danial.'

She looks up at him but Danial just acting oblivious and continue to eat slowly. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Wang Hua nodded slowly. A small smile fleeting across his face before he resumed his poker face.

"That's really satisfying my stomach."

Micheal rubs his belly and burped.

"Excuse me..sorry..hehe.."

Wang Hua whispered something to LinLin and bids everyone good night before she stands up and walks towards the library and sat on one of the gazebo. She fidgets with her phone, nervously.

Soon, a shadow looming over her. She looks up, startled before she bowed her head down to hide her flushed face. His stares is too penetrative.

Danial stares at her, longer before he takes a seat opposite of her without looking elsewhere. He saw she fidgeting with her phone and occasionally tapping her foot on the ground without looking at him.

'She's adorable even when she nervous.'

"Are you plan to ignore me?"

Wang Hua jolted by his sudden voice. She looks up at him for a while.

"Is..is there something that you need for?"

"You."

Wang Hua startled and blushed more. She averts her eyes elsewhere but his face.

"It's..it's almost 9pm. I'm yet packing my luggage for tomorrow."

"Do you really have to go?"

Wang Hua turns her head towards him and stares at his face. There's nothing visible on his face, just the indifferent expression. But, she seems to hear some sadness and reluctance in his voice just now.

'Must be my illusion.'

"It's already been decided and all the requirements had been processed."

Wang Hua looks down at her laps.

"Are you perhaps angry at me?"

"Why should I?"

"I don't reply your text immediately. I'm sorry, I put my phone in silence during the meeting and forgot to check it later on."

Danial kept mum. Honestly, he was mad..really mad. Especially when he saw their interaction this afternoon. But hearing they politely called each other name like a stranger, he felt a bit relief. And now hearing she apologized to him for her unintentionally mistake, his anger melted away.

She didn't have to explain to him her actions, cause he is just a friend like others, but here she is apologized to him.

'Maybe..maybe..somewhere in her heart, I'm a bit special, right?' He hoped.

He felt a garden blossoms in his heart. Meanwhile Wang Hua nervously glanced at him, just to see he dazed.

"Dan..Danial? Danial?"

*finger's snapped*

Danial snapped from his dazed mind and startled when he saw her face, in front of his. Wang Hua smiled apologetically and stands up properly.

"I called your name few times but you didn't seem to hear me. Umm..I need to go back now."

Danial stands up too and towered over her.

"Let me send you back."

So, they walked side by side towards the dorm.

"What time is your flight tomorrow?"

"It's 11.15am. But we need to gather at the faculty at 7am tomorrow and meet others on our way to the airport."

Danial nodded and they walked in silence for the rest of their way back.

"Take care, Hua'er. I'll miss you a lot."

"Yeah..you too, LinLin."

On the way to the airport, she received many well wishes from the group. She replied and promised to cook for them when she came back later.

The check-in was done by one of the lecturers so they just waiting in the lounge before they go inside the gate. An announcement for their flight boomed all around the airport.

Wang Hua stands up and pulls her hand-carry luggage. She takes out her phone to turn on the flight mode.

"Beep."

She opens the message.

'Looks behind, 4 o'clock. - Danial.'

She quickly turns her body around and there she sees him, alone, standing tall with a soft smile on his face, waving slowly at her.

"Take care," he mouthed.
