Getting Even

^-^

"I'm so full. I want coffee."

The four of them came out of the restaurant after eating a large bowl of pork and beef rice bowl. Time is now three in the morning.

Mei Mei was already calling her driver. She already declined the invitation for coffee. For she has an Ikebana class later in the afternoon and needed some sleep.

"Do you really still want to roam around?" she asked in disbelief how Laurie could still be up and about when she heard from Bella that they had been drinking since Laurie landed.

"I'm already getting sleepy." Andrei said, "Why don't we all go to our hotel? You can have your coffee there."

"Tch! When did you two become so weak? It was still early!"

They would probably freak out if she tells them that she actually wants to go back to the club and drink some more. But when she looked at their faces, she saw that the three were no longer up for more partying.

She sighed in defeat. "Fine, let's just go to our hotel. Next time, I don't want to hang out with you three anymore," she mumbled, pouting.

"Ask my brother to play with you since you don't have anyone to drag around."

"Which brother of yours are we talking about? Hideaki? That brother of yours is like an iced tuna —"

"The iced tuna is here to drive you to your hotel."

Laurie knew something was up with Bella clearing her throat and wiggling her perfectly shaped eyebrows when she started talking shit about Hideaki. When she heard his annoyed voice behind her, she understood what Bella was doing.

But it was too late! Clearly, Hideaki heard everything she just said.

She slowly turned her body to face the owner of the voice. She has a big smile on her face but her smile froze when she faced Hideaki and saw the familiar face standing behind him.

Her head snapped back to Mei Mei but she had already jumped to the backseat of the car. She slammed the car door behind her in such force that made Andrei and Bella exchange meaningful glances.

An empty taxi slowed down near the curb where they were standing and she caught her arm on time before she raised it to flag down the taxi.

She couldn't let Mei Mei be alone in the car with Hideaki and Rina Yamaguchi.

She was jolted from her dilemma when she felt Andrei's arm around her waist. He pulled her to his side and whispered, "I can smell the murderous blood of yours toward that woman standing behind the delicious-looking man."

She lifted her eyes to the woman and the delicious-looking man Andrei was talking about and saw Hideaki's furious eyes. She smirked inwardly at how useful Andrei could be during this time.

Hideaki saw Andrei as a man claiming her as his territory, he won't know that Andrei prefers to have him than her.

From Hideaki's face, her eyes slowly moved back to the woman who was quietly standing behind Hideaki like a light post. Her eyes were bright as a car headlight on a dark night.

She is wearing a long flowy dress that reached her ankle, topped by an oversized sweatshirt. The sweatshirt has a familiar school logo. One that Hideaki attended.

She smirked. No wonder Mei Mei lost her manners and now sulking at the backseat of the car.

Her eyes darted back to Hideaki and she just noticed that he was wearing sweatpants and a shirt. Not the usual kind of clothing that he would wear outside.

The two clearly were already turning in for the night. She wondered why they were here when Mei Mei clearly said that she was calling her driver to pick them up.

Whatever the reason was, she couldn't let this opportunity go to waste when Rina Yamaguchi showed her face in front of her again.

She raised her hand and caressed the side of Andrei's head, as she smiled coyly at Hideaki, "I didn't know that you are now your sister standby driver," she said in a sultry voice.

Andrei knew exactly the psychological war that was happening between her and the two unexpected people who happened to successfully ruin their night out by coming to pick them up.

He nudged her jawline with kisses as his fingers ran across the waistband of her jeans. She giggled provocatively that made Hideaki's face contorted in disgust.

Despite not having played this game with Andrei for so long, they still understand what the other person needs without words. They were too good at this kind of game.

With this act, they lied their way out of their mother's eagle's talon. She didn't expect that they would still pretend to be starstruck lovers, here in Shibuya with the last person she wanted to lie to.

"Just get in the car! We don't have time for this nonsense," he said, clenching his teeth.

"But, can we all fit in the car with your friend over there?" she asked, narrowing her eyes on Yamaguchi who was still being quiet.

Yamaguchi stared back at her with a blank expression on her face but when Hideaki glanced over his shoulder to look at her, in a blink of an eye she had this hurt expression on her face.

"I can't believe you don't remember me, Laurie san," she said in her familiar squeaky voice.

When she and Mei Mei were young they fought this girl by running away from her and her cohorts. But they are no longer kids. They were no longer bound by the rules of a learning institution.

They are now out in the real world. And the rules on the outside are way different from the confined rules of the school.

She pulled a thin smile on her lips and in a clear voice, she said, "Don't call me by my first name like we are friends."

"Laurie!" Hideaki's voice raised up, ready to reprimand her.

But she was in dire need of caffeine and seeing that Rina Yamaguchi is still the same bitchy chameleon that is hiding behind her angelic face, her blood boils.

She was acting as though she wronged her, that she couldn't help but sniggered in disgust. She stared straight to her face, "I will never forgive you for hitting Mei's when we were in Togawa."

The shock in their faces was so satisfying, Laurie felt like laughing out loud.
