Fighting Heaven and Earth

Sael rolled back, somehow managing to plant both feet into the Amazon's stomach to launch her over his head. Rolling over as she crashed into the sand he tried to stand up but found the mud so slick it was impossible to get any traction. When he tried to roll further away out of the mud the ground continued to change around him. "What the hell?"

"How do you like my slippery mud curse?" The Amazon grinned standing with her once again normal arms planted on her hips. "You can't get away from it, the earth beneath you will stay that way no matter where you go. Want to give up now or are ya wanting to tussle in the mud with me?" She threw her head back and let out a bellow of a laugh.

'Well shit. I really can't get any traction. Even pushing up to crawl is impossible. I just slip back down. Do I fly?' Sael splattered back into the mud after trying to get up on his hands and knees. "Come on down here and give me a hug just like your brother!" Spikes shot out of his sleeves before retracting back in.

"You take off that armor and I will! In fact why don't you take it all off!" She leered at him.

"What is wrong with women in this world!" Sael splashed face first as he tried to kick off out of the mud to escape.

"Good still got some fight in ya!" She started chanting although it sounded more like grunts and growls than words. Overhead the skies started to darken.

"You're an Amazon right? Shouldn't you be a fighter not a caster? What's the point of all those muscles!" Sael rolled around and slid across the arena getting more and more frustrated. 'This is stupid. Who gets beaten by mud!'

Overhead the clouds rumbled and the air began to stink of ozone. "Oh shit!" Laying face down in the mud he bowed back raising his arms and legs up before snapping them down with all his might. The force of his blow allowed him to flop back mid air to crash into sand that instantly turned into slick mud. But it did allow him to avoid a bolt of lightning that turned the mud where he'd been into blackened and cracked clay.

"Hold on now! Isn't that a bit much?" As the hair on the back of his neck stood up he repeated the process to flop away to avoid another bolt of lightning. 'This is so stupid. I'm like a fish flopping around on land.' Again for a third time he repeated the process only to rocket upward to punch a hole in the dark clouds. Hovering above the clouds he once again hoped no one saw his wings.

"Amazon my ass she should have been Shaman or Druid! I came to fight a muscle head not a caster." Sael yelled out venting his frustration.

"That was the point!" Another hole was punched in the clouds as the Amazon came sailing up, both arms had become huge golden feathered wings. "Wow, I didn't know they made fairies so big! Ha!" She came to hover across from him.

'Shit, she saw my wings. Maybe I should give her the old now that you know my secret I can't let you live! Naw she'd probably take it seriously.' Instead he rushed towards her. 'I can't do more than a straight rush still but she doesn't have any arms now!'

When he rushed forward the Amazon flapped her arms powerfully before kicking out with both legs. Each barefoot changed becoming the gripping taloned feet of a bird of prey. With one on each shoulder she dug in. "Ha! You're quick but too predictable! I wonder if our children will have wings!" She dropped into a dive bomb before he had time to react causing them to pass back beneath the clouds. Sael furled his wings back into his body in panic before she let him go while pulling up. He crashed into the ground that went from hard sand to soft mud only after the shock of the impact rattled him. He hadn't even recovered when three consecutive bolts of lightning hammered into him.

The Amazon landed next to the smoking figure on the ground. All the mud he was caked in had been baked like clay while steam and smoke rose into the ozone reeking air around him. "Ha! Hopefully you survived that and are still functional!" Her grin disappeared when the clay baked figure shattered and a hand shot out to grab her by the ankle. She was yanked off her feet and swung around before being slammed down into the sand.

"Thanks! If I'd known getting hit by lightning would have baked the cursed mud I'd have let it happen sooner." Sael stepped out of the blackened clay onto sand that remained sand. 'Perfect. Plus I got a rank of Shock Resistance. I'll take that.'

In Front of him the Amazon rolled on her back before spring boarding up. Her face was split into a huge grin as she charged him taking a swipe with one arm that was once again a huge bear's paw. He dodged the blow only to have her other arm lash out like a whip, it now looked like the long tentacle of some sort of cephalopod. Instead of avoiding it he raised his hand and let it wrap around his arm before using it to yank her off her feet. As she was pulled forward off center by the violent tug he rushed forward to meet her mid way and headbutted her. When their two foreheads met there was a sound like a gunshot. Both stumbled back away from the other.

"Fuck me, your head is as hard as your brothers!" He was forced to dive to avoid another lightning strike giving her time to recover.

"I'll have to take that as a complement!" Her thighs swelled up becoming furred before she kicked off launching herself at him. He continued his dive into a roll to avoid her lunge then was forced to kick off the ground throwing himself to the side to avoid another lightning strike.

"Fuck me give me a second to catch my balance!" He managed to catch her with a quick kick to the gut sending her flying back as she tried to pounce on him again. Only to have to immediately dodge another bolt.

"Why would I do that?" She was streaking to him again this time propelled on those golden wings before diving down to do a forward flip like she was going to axe kick him. Only both legs turned into some fish-like tail and snapped down with more force than he expected. The ground bowled out beneath him as the blow formed a crater beneath his feet when he blocked. She moved away flapping her wings to avoid the lightning bolt that followed. When he tried to dodge again he slipped to fall into the crater of slick mud. Several more bolts of lightning charred him as she landed safely away.

Sael broke free of the baked clay a second time and started to stand up, truly annoyed when over head a boom of thunder so loud it shook the ground rolled across the arena. Before he could move a massive bolt of lightning came down turning the world pure white. In the arena people blinked while crying out in shock at being blinded by the sudden flash. None blinked faster or more furiously than those in Sael's group. As their vision cleared they could see Sael collapsed down on his knees, his body was blacked and covered in soot while his long hair stood out in all directions. The crater he was kneeling in was burnt black and jagged lines of glass had been formed in the sand moving out in random directions from his point to cover most of the arena. The Amazon was charging forward on huge furry legs that ended up in hooves. Her charge seemed to shake the arena and when she closed she leapt up raising two huge arms that looked like those of a massive gorilla in a double fisted slam as she came crashing down on the Twilight King.
