Changing

Sael settled back down and shifted her so blood could once again flow through his arm. Gritting his teeth for a moment as the sudden rush caused it to prickle and sting before he relaxed.  While rearranging them Ara let out a slight whimper when he brushed her bandaged arm.  He was wondering why her wounds hadn't fully healed yet when a voice startled him.  "We almost lost both of you, My King."

Rolling slightly back some he could see Nee sitting on a chair beside the bed.  She was once again in her normal silver accented black dress as she sat stiff back and proper.  "She gave everything she had left."

"What happened? Why were you all in the Spirit Tree? What happened to the elf queen? What about Lia? Are the elves still fighting against us? Is the Spirit Tree still disabled?" Sael whispered out the sudden barrage of questions.  Nee's response wasn't what he expected.
