Sael felt like he was a bit slow that day. It seemed to take him longer than it should have for things to click. "Wait. Does that mean you are a princess? I mean for the humans, not the fairies?"
Nee chuckled in his arms and squeezed his hands. "No. I am a fairy. Fairies can have children with non-fairies, remember, my king? But the children are always fairies… though sometimes they have traits from the other parent. It is how we have been keeping our numbers up. Most fairies are born female after all."
Sael had forgotten that bit of information amongst the chaos of her revelation. "Right. So your father was a king. I thought you said your mother was a normal fairy? Not a princess or queen?"
