Jess groaned, her head throbbing. When she had been knocked forward she had headbutted Carbo. It turned out as hard headed as Jess was; it wasn't nearly equal to Carbo's actual skull. She could feel the swelling already forming a knot. "Ouch, I'm going to have one hell of a goose egg now. Great."
"Good, ye be alive. Now get off me!" Carbo shoved her up and away.
As the two extracted themselves they heard the rumble of thunder and glanced overhead to see clear skies. Pushing themselves to their feet they glanced about then stopped to gawk. Over the lake, no where the lake had been, there was a mass of dark clouds rolling with the flicker of lighting inside them. The lake bed was currently mostly empty, what remained of the water pooled in a deeper crater near where their last attack had landed. Two of the spitter plants and one of the cactus that was closest to the lake were destroyed.
