Chapter 4: The Runnaway

When I saw Koa at the table, he was shocked at how bad I looked. I sat away from Nani and Lani today. Then Koa ended up sitting next to me and everyone was shocked. I just ignored people stares and ate my food. I was thankful that Koa sat next to me that night.

That night, we were going to bed and Nani said," You're not mad at me, are you? It was part of a sparing match. You were sure to get hurt." "No, I'm not mad. I can't tell you why right now, but I let you hurt me today. That's all I am going to say in the matter today. Goodnight." I went to bed and got some sleep until It was time to meet with Koa.

Finally, it was getting closer to midnight. It was time to meet Koa in the training grounds. I went to the training grounds as promised, and I saw Koa and Kalua. I looked curiously at them, then they finally spotted me. "Oh good. You're here. We need you to follow us Raven." Said Kalua. "We just needed a place to meet." I nodded then followed them. I had a strange feeling. I didn't know if it was good or bad.

I followed them to an opened field away from the cabin and the others. "OK so what is this about? If its about Nani hitting me, I am going back." "Woah there easy." Said Kalua. Then Koa came over and said, "Yes, it is about Nani. Its mostly about you. I noticed during your fight, something weird was going on with you. I know you let her hit you." "Yes, I did ok?! Is that what you want to here?! Yes I let her hit me!" I was getting so mad I told them a little of what was going on. "I was afraid of losing control and hurt her so I let her hit me! Argh! No! They can't know yet! Please don't loose control yet!" I yelled at myself. Then I ran off before anyone could do or say anything.

I was in the woods again. I found myself in the same place I was when we got on land from being shipwrecked. I stood there trying to calm myself down. I tried punching the ground kicking random things heavy or not. For a minute I just wanted to jump in the ocean and try to find my parents but didn't.

Koa and Kalua ran to wake up Akela. (Pound Pound Pound Pound!) Koa pounded on Akela's door to wake him up and tell him about Raven. "What the hell are you doing pounding on my door at 12:00 in the morning." Said Akela. "Koa and Kalua. Well, it must be something serious if Koa is here. What happened? Is everything ok?" "NO! Its not!" said Koa freaking out. "Its Its." "Calm down Koa and breathe." He took a deep breath and exhaled. "Its Raven. We wanted to talk to her about how she was feeling after the fight, but she said something about being afraid to lose control and she got mad and ran off! Is she going to be ok Akela?!" "I sure hope so. How long ago did she run off? About a half hour ago." "I might know where she is. Boys stay here in case she comes back. If she is not there, I will have to get help!" So he ran to the ocean where he was assuming she was.

Raven had a lot of emotions right now. She didn't know what to do. She was about to do something crazy, when she heard a voice. "Raven. Raven!" The voice got closer and she knew who it was. It was Akela. "NO! Stay away! I don't want to hurt you!" Akela slowed his pace down, and saw how horrible Raven looked. "Oh Raven. What happened to you? Is there anything I or anyone can do for you?" She shook her head no. "I'm sorry. I just can't go back. I'm sure the others at the lab will find me. I just don't know the condition I will be in. If I am dead when they find me, tell everyone I loved them. Tell my brother and Koa its ok to be happy. Tell Nani I'm sorry." Then she ran off and Akela tried to chase after her but knew he couldn't after going so far.

"Dammit! I better tell the lab guys what's going on." He went back to the lab and the doc was still there. "Hey doc! Raven isn't doing to well. I tried to stop her from running away, but I have no idea where she ran off too. She looked to be in pain and didn't look human at all. Something is going on and I'm worried about her! I first found her by the sea where she was first found then she ran from there!" "Calm down boy. That's the best you can do right now. Let me get the young scientist up, then I will have him and the other scientist find her. Let's pray she will be ok." "Mind if I help?" The doc looked at him for a moment and said, "You may get hurt if you're not careful." "I understand. I don't care about that. Like I always say Once a part of the family always part of the family. I don't care where she ends up as long as she is safe and sound!" "All right then. Let me get the young scientist up and have him bring the others to look. I'm sure they know where she might be." "OK thank you sir." So, the Doc called the scientist and he got his buddies to start searching. Akela came too.

"Ha…. Ha…. Ha…. Ha…. I think …. I am…. far enough. I think…. I will…. hide in this…. cave." So, she hid in the cave for a while. She was thinking someone might come soon if she doesn't leave. She was thinking of taking a short breath to calm down before she ran again.

She tried to run, but knew she couldn't anymore. Her legs were becoming weaker, and she can barely stand. She finally leaned against a tree, and said, "I hope no one finds me. I don't want to hurt them." She slid down the tree, and couldn't do anymore. She was human again, but she was awake and so out of it, she couldn't move or talk. Someone other than the people she knew, came by and took her away.

"Your going to be ok girl. I promise everything will be fine. I will help you." Said the man. She closed her eyes and didn't wake up for days.

I woke up in a strange place I have never seen before. I started freaking out. "Where? Where am I?" "Oh good your finally awake. I was wondering when you were going to wake up." "Who are you?" "Me? I'm the guy to saved you. My name is Tony nice to meet you." "Why did you save me? You have got nothing to do with me." "Your right. I don't. I just didn't want to see a lady or woman get hurt. If she was running away for a reason, I thought there was one to hide you from them." "Thank you for saving me. Also I know I ran away. Its not for the reason you think. I did it to save them. I didn't want to hurt them." "I figured as much. Just before you turned human, I saw part of a transformation." "You did? Do you know anything about this stuff?" "A little bit. Looks like you might become a dragon. Who knows when." "How do I control it? Can I control it?" "Yes you can. It looks to me like when you are excited, angry, or irritated, is what triggers your transformation. You could end up being a red dragon. Who knows. Now let me ask you. Do you want to go back? Should we continue on?" "I know I shouldn't, but I should go back. The scientists are doing what they can to help me. Jason Hawk one of the scientists is doing all he can to help me. He and his friends. I just hope my clan leader Akela isn't with him. I'm afraid I might go bezerk again." "Well I have to leave soon. Its up to you to follow me or not. I was on my way somewhere when I found you." "Thank you, but I will find my way back. I'm sure I will be ok. Thanks for helping me. I hope to see you again." "Likewise." So he went on his way, and I headed back towards the castle again.

I just left the cabin the guy named Tony made and I didn't get far when I saw not only the scientists, but the people I was afraid to see. My brother and Akela. I turned around and got ready to run again, when my brother and Akela pinned me down. Now I had my back faced up and my head sideways on the ground. "Calm down Raven. You will be fine." Said my brother Jason. I felt myself starting to lose control again. "NO No No. Stop NO!" My claws came out, and I ended up scratching my brother's chest pretty bad and I scratches Akela in the stomach. I couldn't control myself so they gave me a shot to calm me down. This time it knocked her out.

I don't know how long it had been when I finally woke up. I woke up in a room I had never seen before. There was a plastic window and white door. No matter what I did I could not get out. I gave up, sat down, and waited for someone to check on me.

"Thank God your awake!" said my brother Jason. "How long exactly was I asleep?" "You slept for 2 months straight. They still did the tests on you then put you back if you ever lost control." "Figures. Can I come out now?" "That is not up to me. I will go tell him that you are awake ok? He will most likely explain the situation." "Wait! I remember I scratched you and Akela pretty good. Enough to kill you both. You both ok?" "Shh. Relax sis. We are both fine. Yes I almost died, but I am fine now. Like I said it has been 2 months." "That's a relief."
