Cornered and doomed

Liam convinced me to grab some cup of coffee after being with Lisandro. He sounded like a worried best friend who only wanted me to be happy.

Someway, he nailed one of the best ways to distract myself for being sad. I couldn't believe what happened either.

I was still in shock. My body wanted to know the truth, but no words came out from my mouth.

Liam came back with two cups of coffee to our table close to the window. He seemed worried, but he gave me an reassuring smile.

He said, "Hey, you're thinking about things again! Remember, this is not a funeral home, but a lovely coffee shop."

Out of the blue, a genuine laughter echoed around the place. The ambiance was quite impressive as it somehow took away the sadness beneath my chest.

I sighed, tucking away a few strands of my hair into the back of my ears. I didn't even know what I looked like right now.
