Champion made his move as soon as the Lead Researcher gave the command to begin the experiment.

He wasn't staying on the raised platform to look cool or because he was the highest ranking Pantheon member present. The reason he was there was because it gave him a good vantage position.

Rising to Grandmaster improved the breath of what Champion could do with his Will and Will abilities. The only complain was that there wasn't a manual detailing all these improvements and he had to figure them out himself.

Something he discovered recently was that he could form a connection to any construct he created or at least featured prominently enough in its design.
