The cartel and criminal underworld in Bolivia shared strong ties, be it good or bad, with the cartels and criminal underworlds in both Columbia and Mexico.

It was well-documented that many of the cartels in Bolivia originate from or were founded by immigrants from Columbia and Mexico.

And vice versa in fact, with many Bolivian cartels and cartel members emigrating to either countries to further the cartel's or their personal agenda and ambition.

The influence of both the Mexican and Columbia cartel was easily seen in the modus operandi of their Bolivian counterparts.
